HUGE BANKER NAP WINS AT 2-1: Daqman was adamant yesterday that Huge Future (WON 2-1) had been given a lenient handicap mark, and moved in maximum stakes for a banker nap. He’d been ‘told’ two for the weekend; that was the first; the second, Dannyday, now runs in the Northumberland Vase (3.40) at Newcastle tomorrow.

THREE BEST BETS OUT OF FIVE: Huge Future gave Daqman a third winning nap out of five this week and completed a winning 8-1 double with Escalating (WON 2-1). His best bets in the last five days (profit 100 points to 20-point stakes) have been:

WON 11-4 La Cressonniere
2nd 4-6 Indulged (banker)
WON 9-4 Final
2nd 2-1 Red Box
WON 2-1 Huge Future (banker)

TODAY: ABC Guide to the Pitman’s Derby (Northumberland Plate). TOMORROW: The Daqman Saturday show. He’s sure to attack the big odds and challenge Pricewise in the major events. Current score: Daqman 50, Pricewise 22.

COULD NOTARISED BE (NEARLY) CAUGHT?

ABC GUIDE: 4.15 Newcastle, Northumberland Plate (tomorrow) Only three tick all the boxes, and Notarised gets the added ‘X factor’ with trainer Mark Johnston having had 40 horses placed in the last two weeks (15 winners), including a recent 13 out of 14 in the frame.

A Winner of class 2 or higher
B Winner on AW
C No older than six (9/10 turf)
D Winner in big field, 13+ runners
E Winner over 2m+
X factor: stable in top form

ABCDEX Notarised

Old Newton Cup winner at around this time last year, and has scored over 2m on the Chelmsford polytrack. Stable flying.

ABCDE Nearly Caught

Third in this race last year on turf. Now 3lb better with the fourth horse, Angel Gabrial, and 5lb better with the sixth, Seamour. Notarised finished in the rear.

ABCDE Seamour

Only sixth in this last year but next time out took the Brown Jack Stakes at Ascot in July. Likes soft ground.

ABCE Gang Warfare

Won four consecutive AW races (three different tracks), climbing the ratings inside a year from 70 mark to 104.

ABCE My Reward

Now 4lb worse off with length-and-a-quarter runner-up Moscato at Haydock in May.

ABCE Sunblazer

Hat-trick on three different AW tracks in the early part of the year.

ABC Tommy Docc

Well behind Notarised at Chelmsford and in rear Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot.

ABE Arch Villain

Four out of six on AW. Eighth, beaten five lengths, in this last year off a 10lb lower mark

ABE Gabrial The Hero

Back to form after a year off to win two AW handicaps and fourth in the Chester Cup in May. Not seen since.

ACD Nakeeta

Chester Cup his only start this year. Beaten a short-head despite 9lb rise for back-to-back wins on the soft at Haydock, including 16-runner Old Borough Cup.

ACD Polarisation

Melrose winner who beat Nakeeta in the Lanark Silver Bell (1m 4f) last August and, though 11lb higher now, has had one excellent run back this year, ‘the moral’ at Epsom, second giving nearly a stone to the winner.

ADE Angel Gabrial

Winner of this race in 2014 and fourth last year but continues to struggle with his handicap mark as a result. Eighth in Chester Cup.

ADE No Heretic

Narrow Chester Cup winner from the ultra-consistent Nakeeta with Gabrial The Hero fourth (the three rehandicapped to dead-heat now!). Angel Gabrial and Gang Warfare were behind.

A Seismos

Newbury Group-3 winner in 2014, and raced in Australia and Dubai since. But has never reached the frame beyond 14 furlongs.

BCEX Steve Rogers

Just three lengths or so off the winner in the Cesarewitch and 2m winner on Kempton polytrack but disappointed in the Chester Cup off revised mark. Not seen since.

BCD Hardstone

Ex-Irish, did well on the AW at Dundalk, and narrowly beaten in class-2 handicap (14f) at Newmarket in the Spring.

BCE Gaviar

He’s 15lb higher than for Goodwood 2m win last summer but back-to-back success at Kempton since and fourth when Notarised was third at Goodwood in May to Duke Of Edinburgh winner, Kinema, but worse off with Notarised here.

BC Antiquarium

Runner-up to Dartmouth at Goodwod last year, then fifth to Polarisation in the Melrose at York, for which he’s 12lb better in on Saturday, and likely to improve on sole run back after being gelded during the winter.

CDE Moscato

Only two lengths off the winner in the Cesarewitch snd fourth in the Ascot Stakrs (2m 4f). Likes to be handy and should last this race out well.

CDE Saigon City

Behind Gaviar at Ripon in the Spring and not scored since 2013 until surprise winner at 33-1 dropped to class 3 at York on firm ground.

HERE’S LOOKING AT BOGART: BIG AT 11.0

6.45 Newcastle (Gosforth Park Cup) Bogart, second in the Portland and third in the Ayr Silver Cup last backend, ran a cracker at York in May. This tough 5f is perfect for a horse who needs that bit more than the minimum: 11.0 on BETDAQ early mouse.

Bosham is eight times an AW winner but is set his highest ever mark, raised in class. Ditto Bowson Fred. Red Baron can win in the grade but he, too, is higher than he’s won off.

Cheekpieces might help the well-drawn Encore d’Or (at 6.0 best offer) to make that step up in class, lightly raced and with the Wokingham-winning stable of Robert Cowell.

Orions Bow has to leap two levels and drop back a furlong, a double change of discipline which could find him out.

7.45 Newcastle All eyes are on the three runners from the Classic generation after Covert Love won this, prepping for her success in the Irish Oaks last season.

Nezwaah could make it an unbeaten hat-trick on the AW after her turf Listed third at Newbury was boosted by one behind her winning a Group 3 afterwards.

TIME TO SPOT THE WELD GALWAY PLOTTING

7.30 The Curragh (Ragusa Handicap) Dermot Weld’s half-brother to Forgotten Rules, Time To Inspire, allowed almost a year to grow up, after breaking his maiden 10 lengths at the Galway Festival, has another date at Ballybrit next month, with tonight’s handicap as his starting point.

Probably wise to make it yours, too (at 9.8 BETDAQ offers), although Pat Smullen switches to the William Haggas raider Dawn Missile (5.5).

Trainer Weld is just now celebrating 4,000 winners, including 19 Classic successes. Harzand would make it 20 tomorrow.

THE NAP: OWL SHOULD MAKE LIGHT OF THIS

4.30 Yarmouth The rain has left Knight Owl, at around even money, receiving weight from a firm-ground-winning filly, with 6.2 bar two. Banker placing by James Fanshawe. Again.

DAQMAN BETS (each staked to win 20 points)
BANKER: BET 20pts win (nap) KNIGHT OWL (4.30 Yarmouth)
BET 4pts win ENCORE D’OR, and 2pts win and place BOGART (6.45 Newcastle)
