TWO 50-POINT STRIKES IN TWO DAYS: Daqman does it again! He followed up Saturday’s 50-point punt on an 11-1 winner with another bull’s-eye bet at 11-2 yesterday. Both weekend strikes were big value on BETDAQ, first at 14.0 then at 8.8, to give him a weekend haul of 61.15 points. That makes it seven days out of eight with a profit (total 99.45 on all selections over the eight days).

ATZENI JOB HORSE AT RIPON IS 9.6
⭕ 2.33 Ripon On a retrieval mission today is Cloch Nua, heavily punted at Lingfield over a mile.
Clearly needed further on the bottom line of his breeding (sire was a fast Group-1 player but dam won 1m 4f).
Today is his first run beyond a mile and Andrea Atzeni has been booked to do the job from a favourable draw, with the race a re-run of a near-identical event here 16 days ago when Peripeteia beat Make A Prophet, Bearwith and Milltown Lily.
Peripeteia was a surprise winner; Make A Prophet was beaten favourite, missing strike for the third race running (form 222).
Milltown Lily was said to be unlucky in the race but paints a shocking profile for it: she’s missing strike, indeed missing the frame (42444), also including beaten favourite, and trainer Micky Hammond hasn’t had a Ripon winner for more than three years from 32 runners.

⭕ 2.40 Epsom Kevin Phillippart De Foy has won two races with his last three 2yo maiden runners, one of them first time out at 33-1.
His overall record at Epsom is 3-4 (75%) and one of those was his only 2yo maiden to run there (so 100%).
The sire of his Speziato was Zoffany, a winner first time as a two-year-old, who got within threeparts of a length of Frankel at Royal Ascot.

7.3 OASIS GARDEN DIGS THE TRACK
⭕ 3.08 Ripon (Ripon Rowels) Garden Oasis has a track record at Ripon of 102211031. He’s seven now but still has a handy handicap mark and has just returned to winning form.
The three-year-old Blenheim Boy, winner of a class-4 at Ripon (soft) in April, must actually give Garden Oasis 2lb!
Dutch Decoy and Bashosh were one-two on the July Course last month, with Bashosh (Atzeni rides again) now in receipt of 4lb to turn around a head defeat.
Three out of four in the Spring, Boardman, a stablemate of Garden Oasis, is 04 over a mile in England, his six successes mainly at 7f, but he can be marked up for running on well at Chester (7.5f) after not getting a clear run.
David O’Meara’s Azano, the Redcar specialist, is a front-runner but so, too, his stablemate, Shelir, who needs rain and is unlikely to get it.
Roger Varian has had three winners from seven starters (none finishing out of the ‘four’) in the last two days and rear-runner Bashosh can take advantage of the pace of the O’Meara duo.

SPARK’S FLYING FOR BUICK SWITCH
⭕ 3.15 Epsom Wodeton has been campaigned on turning tracks at Chester, Goodwood and Epsom, where he overcame stall 7 to score over today’s trip in June.
He’s 9lb higher now and William Buick, who won three times for the Andrew Balding stable at the weekend, is now on Evocative Spark (stall 3).
The progressive three-year-old likes to lead and has loved railing round Beverley (right-handed) and Chester (left-handed). His defeat of I’m A Gambler at Beverley looks good after that one won a class-2 at Goodwood on Saturday.
The Spark was not there the last day at Newmarket but he’s clearly ‘expected’ today after a break, only 3lb higher than for his Chester win which was at this class-2 level.
He could be taken on for the lead by Bowman, who made all over the Epsom CD at the Derby meeting; 6lb higher here and not one ever to show stable confidence in the market: 12-1, 28-1 twice, 33-1, 66-1 and 80-1 (twice, including when he won!)
The runner-up in the Epsom race, Lord Rapscallion, is 7lb better off for a length with Bowman. Another who is often a big price and hasn’t run for more than two years.
Espresso and Outrun The Storm have not won higher than class 4, and I shall take Evocative Spark to get the better of Wodeton.

⭕ 3.50 Epsom (Amateurs Derby) He’s been all at sea lately but Captain Haddock is the Main chance again.
Trainer Heather Main and jockey Henry trailed in with Haddock 46 lengths behind the last day but that was seven weeks ago and it helped him drop to a mark 3lb lower than when he won this amateurs’ Derby race last year.
Simon Walker, who has ridden the winner twice in the last four years, has to give weight all round aboard Sarvan, a dual Lingfield scorer over two furlongs shorter. Fast Steps’ success has also been over 1m 2f.
It’s three years since Mascat (cheekpieces first time) has won a Flat race but he is fit from a Jumps outing recently.
Thibault is another dual-purpose type but he is massively better off on the Flat, rated 70 compared to his 128 hurdles mark.
I reckon that’s around a stone potential he could make up. He went clear on the Flat at Chepstow on a sound surface in the Spring, as if he had plenty in hand.
Four-year-olds have won four Derbys out of five: Saratoga Gold hit form the last day and Way Of Life bagged five races in a row, mainly on AW, over the winter but completed that bag on turf at Newbury in the Spring.
Saratoga Gold’s recent win was also at Newbury (should hold Psyche again): he kept his form to produce back-to-back wins at this time last year.
