HAT-TRICK OF DAQMAN NAPS LANDED AT THE DUBLIN FESTIVAL: The long and the short of it on the final day of the Dublin Festival yesterday is that Daqman landed a hat-trick of naps at a short price plus a 15.0 outsider, both longer odds on BETDAQ and both the subject of late gambles. His naps are now four from five:

✔️ WON 1-3 APPRECIATE IT Sunday nap (Ballyadam 2nd 10-1 same race)
✔️ WON 10-11 HONEYSUCKLE Saturday nap in the Irish Champion Hurdle
✔️ WON 8-13 ROYAUME UNI Friday nap
✔️ WON 13-8 ANNIE Mc Wednesday nap

15.0 BETDAQ STRIKE SO HE’S ON DOUBLE PRICEWISE WINNERS: Appreciate It and his bull’s-eye bet on Off You Go (WON 10-1 from BETDAQ 15.0) took him to a massive 697-point profit this season in feature races nominated by Pricewise (level stakes at SP). Daqman now leads his Racing Post rival by double the amount of winners, 24-12.

FIVE FROM DUBLIN-FESTIVAL WRAP

🏇 BALLYADAM Appreciate It had Ballyadam nearly 16 lengths behind at Leopardstown over Christmas in the Future Champions Novice Hurdle.

Many will want to take Appreciate It out of yesterday’s rematch on Day 2 of the Dublin Festival but he’ll never be a price and Ballyadam closed him down to little more than three lengths.

With Gordon Elliottt (1-28 at the festival) remaining out of form, Ballyadam and the Spring Juvenile Hurdle winner, Quilixios, flew the flag for the Longwood yard. With this encouragement, Ballyadam will surely be placed to win.

🏇 CHACUN POUR SOI No messing about. The Ladbrokes Dublin Chase was run at an end-to-end gallop but this seemed to turn on Chacun Pour Soi’s reserve gears until he was cruising on electric.

🏇 ENERGUMENE Ran two races in one. Firstly, he made all going easily; no danger. Then he was left clear two out by the fall of his nearest rival. Not over yet, son, said Paul Townend with a nudge and a shove and he went further clear, eased down.

🏇 HONEYSUCKLE It was what we hoped for and more, as Honeysuckle strode to her second Irish championship and her 10th hurdles win in a row, all 10 under Rachael Blackmore. Simply majestic.

🏇 MONKFISH Another Willie Mullins machine. Simply toyed with his old rival, ultra-consistent Latest Exhibition, who would be a champion novice chaser in any other season.

CARRY ON MULLINS

⭕ 2.30 Fairyhouse (Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle Grade 3) Carlisle and Plumpton have been scuppered today with inclement weather and the nine-race ‘jumpers bumpers’ card at Newcastle, whilst keeping the show on the road, doesn’t really appeal as a betting medium.

Fairyhouse did get the green light – although Wednesday’s card there rather bizarrely has already been called off as that’s on the inner track.

The Grade 3 there today lights up an otherwise very moderate day but after the feast of the Dublin Racing Festival we probably all need a breather.

Willie Mullins quite rightly stole the headlines with a staggering haul of eight winners from the 15 race bonanza – even winning with a 40/1 shot Maze Runner!

Mullins saddles the unbeaten Gauloise here who steps up in class after winning her two hurdle races, both at Thurles, with ease.

She’s up against course specialist Royal Kahala who has won her last three starts here in such a manner that you have to think she is pretty special and can cope with this step in class. She’s hardly had to come out of second gear so far but this is much tougher and the form of her wins haven’t worked out brilliantly.

The BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE prices and current trainer form swing me towards Gauloise to give owner Kenny Alexander a hat-trick in the race after Minella Melody last year and a certain Honeysuckle in 2019.

THE SECRET IS OUT

⭕ 6.30 Wolverhampton Class 3 handicap over an extended mile is the race of the night at Dunstall Park and can go to the Charlie Appleby trained Secret Victory.

He made a pleasing handicap debut at Chelmsford last month when second to Variyann. He’s up 2lb for that effort but the trainer has put up 7lb claimer Christian Howarth to mitigate that rise and the hope must also be that the first time cheekpieces have a positive impact.

One of the biggest positives though is Appleby’s current strike-rate of 8 winners from his last 21 runners.

⭕ 7.30 Wolverhampton The final race on the card looks wide open and much more competitive for a class 6 than you might have expected.

Three of them are last time out winners and Pilot Wings looks of interest, nudging double figure prices on BETDAQ. He could still be competitive after a 5lb rise for a decisive win at Chelmsford last time out.

DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 10 points)

BET 3.4pts win SECRET VICTORY (6.30 Wolverhampton)

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
