DAQMAN 26-16 LEAD FOR VALUE AGAINST PRICEWISE: Daqman took his winners lead over Pricewise to 26-16 in the search for value with Echoes In Rain (WON 11-8) at Naas yesterday. Today’s headlines:
🔹 COUNTRY CORNER TO THE NATIONAL
🔹 ‘WHAT A’ WINNER IN THE PIPE LINE

🔹 ONE-TWO, ONE-TWO IT’S FERGUSON
GRAND 30.0 BETDAQ ANTE-POST OFFERS FOR AINTREE: Daqman is taking value on BETDAQ in advance, ante-post for the Cheltenham and Aintree festivals. Today’s is a Grand National horse (30.0 offers) running in the cross-country at Cheltenham (9.3). More later in the week.
COUNTRY CORNER TO THE NATIONAL
Forgotten ‘winner’ takes Tiger Roll route to Aintree! Most racing fans can rattle off the names of Grand National heros but Potters Corner has slipped off the radar after less than a year.
He has run only in a Liverpool hurdle but he did win the computer-simulated marathon chase which substituted for ITV coverage of the abandoned Grand National last Spring.
Potters Corner has been forgotten after running down the field over hurdles at Exeter and Warwick this year.
But that’s a similar path taken to his Welsh Grand National win in 2019; pulled up and unplaced in hurdles races until winning a prep three weeks before the Chepstow triumph.
His prep this time will be the cross-country at the Cheltenham Festival, won in both 2018 and 2019 by Tiger Roll before his Aintree double.
Potters Corner has already tried the banks medium, running on well to be third in the autumn Glenfarclas at Cheltenham (Tiger Roll pulled up) after being detached for a long way.
It was his first race since winning the Chepstow National (on heavy) and he came within a few lengths of mounting a serious challenge on good ground. I think he’s ready to turn the corner.
Potters Corner was 9.3 in the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE this morning behind the favourite, Easysland, ante-post for the Cheltenham cross-country, and 30.0 for the Grand National.
‘WHAT A’ WINNER IN THE PIPE LINE
⭕ 1.00 Plumpton (Gay Kindersley Trophy) A narrow weights range of 11st to 11st 5lb has trapped 66% of winners of this conditional-jockeys’ handicap chase.
Jordan Nailer 2-3 and Bryan Carver 3-9 have the best records at Plumpton among the boy riders, while Anthony Honeyball, Charlie Mann and David Pipe are the trainers with the best percentage strike-rates.
For these connections, The Lion Dancer (Mann-Carver) is a Plumpton CD winner who has just struck form.
But the good-ground winners in the field are Don Lami, Summit Like Herbie, Uallrightharry and What A Moment, who is 20lb lower than his last winning mark.
Fergus Gillard has had 24 winners for David Pipe (20% strike rate) and looks a good bet on What A Moment: BETDAQ 5.1
SHARK PICK FOR QUEVEGA RECORD
⭕ 1.45 Punchestown (Quevega Mares Hurdle) Willie Mullins, who has won the last five runnings, including with Annie Power (2016), hopes to hit six in a row with the versatile grey mare Great White Shark.
The Martin Pipe third at Cheltenham won a big hurdles handicap at the Galway Festival and completed a great year in 2020 by taking the Newmarket Cesarewitch on the Flat.
Willie’s won this race six times overall since its inception in 2014 to celebrate his six-time Mares Hurdle winner Quevega, who landed 13 races in her career.
Mares Novice Hurdle fourth and Coral Cup runner-up at successive Cheltenham Festivals, Black Tears took on some classy animals before Christmas, third to Buildmeupbuttercup at Punchestown then to Concertista at Leopardstown.
She’s become a bit of a bridesmaid, though not quite as bad as Global Equity (3324222 still standing); she has won only her maiden, always a bad sign.
She is 20-odd pounds behind Black Tears and Great White Shark in handicapping terms; Western Victory a stone behind. So BETDAQ 2.44 Black Tears and 2.9 Great White Shark this morning were not out of kilter with the form.
ONE-TWO, ONE-TWO IT’S FERGUSON
⭕ 7.20 Wolverhampton The value against Lingfield winners Damned Elusive and Classy Dame may be ‘hidden horse’ Prey For Glory, trained by James Ferguson whose last seven runners have finished 1222112.
Prey For Glory (BETDAQ 6.5) is related to Group and Graded winners on the dam’s side but only today runs at the trip that they excelled at. Blinkered first time.
Damned Elusive and Classy Dame are Lingfield winners, both beaten at Wolverhampton, both up 7lb in the weights.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
