BACK-TO-BACK WEEKEND SUPERNAPS SO 7 OUT OF 8: Eziyra zip to win Blandford! That was Daqman’s confident tip at The Curragh yesterday, his second winning supernap of the weekend, following Roaring Lion at the same venue on Saturday. It took his supernaps to seven out of eight, the only loser a late-finishing third, beaten two necks (not second as in yesterday’s list).

WON 10-11 VERACIOUS (supernap, Saturday Sept 1)
WON 11-10 PAST MASTER (supernap, Thursday)
WON 8-15 ENABLE (supernap, Saturday)
WON 4-9 LIMATO (supernap, Sunday)
WON 1-2 EQUILATERAL (supernap, Tuesday)
3RD 6-5 PILASTER (supernap, Wednesday, btn nk nk)
WON 8-11 ROARING LION (supernap, Saturday)
WON 11-8 EZIYRA (supernap, yesterday Sept 16)

HONOUR RESTORED AS HE LANDS THE IRISH LEGER: Daqman doubled Eziyra with Quorto in Daq Multiples and, after his second in the Doncaster St Leger, landed the Irish version when Flag Of Honour outran Latrobe, so that’s three winners on the Curragh card.

WON 2-1 FLAG OF HONOUR (Irish St Leger)
WON 11-8 EZIYRA (supernap)
WON 11-8 QUORTO (Daq Multiples with Eziyra)

NEWS UPDATE: KITE FLIES FAST

ABBAYE FOR GREY Waldgeist for the Arc and Havana Grey for the Abbaye were both cut to 8-1 for Longchamp yesterday after winning the Prix Foy trial for Andre Fabre and the Flying Five at the Curragh for the Laurens stable of Karl Burke.

FABRE DOUBLE UP Four of the last 10 winners of the Prix Vermeille have gone on to win the Arc, and Andre Fabre completed an Arc-trials double yesterday with Waldgeist and Kitesurf, who came from last to first in the Vermeille to score in very fast time, four seconds better than average.

LAURENS WON 10-1 Laurens was another winner for Daqman’s Fortune Cookies at Leopardstown on Saturday; full details in tomorrow’s update, but the one she beat, another star in our list, won’t be seeing a racecourse again.

ALPHA SENSATION It was revealed yesterday that Alpha Centauri was injured (chipped a fetlock joint) when pipped by Laurens at Leopardstown and she and Saxon Warrior, beaten by Roaring Lion for the Irish Champion Stakes in another dramatic duel, have both been retired.

WINX NOW ON 27 Winx will head for a record fourth Cox Plate after she made it 27 wins in succession at Randwick on Saturday, 20 of them at Group 1 level.

CLASSIC WARNING Seemingly sensational success for Too Darn Hot on Saturday, Skitter Scatter in the Moyglare yesterday and Quorto in the National Stakes will have shaken up the Guineas and Derby betting but Daqman will warn you next week that they come with a wallet-health warning, and tells what you should be looking out for instead.

RYAN’S EXPRESS Kevin Ryan has won next Saturday’s Ayr Gold Cup four times with his speedsters, three of them in the last seven seasons. The SPs were 11-1 (twice), 16-1 and 20-1. Look out for advance information from Daqman, who had Kew Gardens top of his St Leger ABC guide five days before the race.

WAIT FOR DRAW Saturday’s Newbury feature is the Mill Reef Stakes, won in 2016 by the subsequent July Cup and Haydock Sprint winner Harry Angel, and in 2015 by the future Queen Anne winner, Ribchester. Note that five of the last eight winners came from stalls 1, 2 and 3.

VIVA LA VIVANT

2.00 Hexham Shadow Sadness was sent off favourite at Worcester last time out and was still in contention before falling three out.

He had previously made jumping errors when fourth on his jumping debut at the same track and is not one to take too short price about until he sorts his jumping out.

A sensible alternative looks to be Icefall who is no world beater but consistent and this might not take much winning.

Globetrotter was beaten two lengths when third to the long odds-on Galvin at Perth but it came in a four horse race and I don’t think the form can be taken at face value.

3.00 Hexham I’m sticking in Northumberland for today’s nap and it’s Vivant in this handicap hurdle.

She arrives in cracking form, chasing the hat-trick, and it’s no surprise to see her out quickly after her facile Fontwell success last week.

She bolted home by 14 lengths but was heavily eased on the flat and it could easily have been 30. A 7lb penalty is unlikely to halt her progress and is partly offset anyway by Tommie O’Brien’s 5lb claim.

Irish raider The Trigger has to be respected given trainer Ronan McNally has scored with his last two raiders but The Trigger was bitterly disappointing at Sligo last time out.

5.40 Brighton Hurricane Alert keeps dropping down the weights and a reproduction of his course and distance third to Entertaining Ben last month, in what looked a better race than this, might be enough to land this tricky finale.

STAKING PLAN: HOOFNOTE DAQMAN’s bets are each staked to win 20 points today. One winner will be enough to guarantee a profit on the day.

DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 20 points)
BET 6.6pts win SHADOW SADNESS (2.00 Hexham)
BET 10.5pts win (nap) VIVANT (3.00 Hexham)
BET 2.5pts win HURRICANE ALERT (5.40 Brighton)
