9-2 NAP AS DAQMAN RACES TO A 274-POINT LEAD A double from the two big races at Aintree and Chantilly yesterday sent Daqman 274 points clear of Pricewise (+121 against -153) to a single-unit stake and gave him a 7-1 landslide in the weekend races. The returns score is now 86-25 to Daqman, who therefore equals last Flat season’s 86-23 tally and takes his total in 10 seasons (five years) to 606 (against 233 for Pricewise).

JASON’S SPECIAL AT LEICESTER
12.35 Redcar You wouldn’t think they’d bother. But, as the season draws to a close, there are trainers and jockeys who consider it worth travelling long distance to try to bag a late prize.
William Haggas, who has a 44% strike rate at Redcar, puts blinkers first time on Red Hunt Red (17.0 BETDAQ offers). He’s pulled too hard for his last two races over a mile and this drop back to a sprint trip, 6lb lower, could put him in the money.
1.20 Leicester Champion apprentice Jason Watson has had eight winners since he lost his allowance a fortnight ago (8-39 for 21%) and has a full book of seven rides at Chelmsford tonight.
But intriguingly he takes a detour via Leicester for just one horse this afternoon, Barbara Hepworth, in this nursery, despite the jockey’s 11 rides without success on the course.
Barbara Hepworth (11.0 BETDAQ) seemingly has very little going for her but ran well on her sole Leicester start. She is 5lb lower over a furlong further for her return to the Oadby track.
Her trainer Gary Moore’s yard is in form; he’s had a winner in a chase, one over hurdles and one on the Flat in the last 10 days. Versatile or what!
A QUICK STEAL FOR BANDITRY
1.55 Leicester (Sir Gordon Richards Handicap) Gordon won his first race at Leicester 97 years ago and, at this time of tragedy for sport in the city, people who have very little money or known ability will care to remember. They, too, will be remembered by their families for what they do.
Aasheq is likely to take these along but thus far has not lasted best in soft ground. Kasperenko is a similar case.
Hochfield has excuses; in his narrow defeats at Haydock and Chester (twice), including on soft and heavy, he was taking on Listed and class-2 company.
Not So Sleepy is another, like Hochfield, who is often on the premises without managing that final burst of the lungs at the business end.
Restorer usually wins after a break but twice now 7.0 offer Banditry (who raced with him at Newbury on Saturday) has come out and scored very quickly after defeat.
2.15 Redcar Firing blanks for most of the autumn, Mick Channon may have success firmly in his sights again after four wins and five seconds in nine days.
He has Billy Ray in this, dropped in class and back on his favoured soft ground, and also Modern Millie at Leicester (3.40), both strongly fancied.
LUCKY 9.6 OFFERS ON BETDAQ?
3.05 Leicester Fire Brigade won this last year and failed by only a length to score as favourite at Ayr on the last day. That’s cost him a couple of pounds and he’s now tried in a visor.
Gulf Of Poets is still high in the handicap and Just Hiss is a once-a-year winner.
Third Time Lucky might be the answer at 9.6. Another who’s hard to win with but has scored of this kind of mark on the soft and was not disgraced in the Cambridgeshire.
3.40 Leicester Modern Millie is the best juvenile filly in Mick Channon’s yard, given plenty of time to come to hand.
