WON EVS KAPPA JY PIKE

MONDAY’S BETS: He returns to Punchestown for one race and also has selections from Exeter and Lingfield where they passed a morning inspection.

IN THE MONEY?

⭕ 12.48 Punchestown Willie Mullins was kind to us here yesterday so it is with some trepidation that I oppose the maestro in the opener today.

As ever, prices on Betdaq Betting Exchange are the barometer for us and I just don’t think his Last Kingdom here represents much value.

He doesn’t hold any big race entries and joined the stable from France where he won a bumper on debut. The form of that race hasn’t worked out particularly well.

He then made his hurdling debut at Leopardstown and was a fair fourth to Wendrock over Christmas (Money Dancer third). His jumping wasn’t impressive that day and I think he could be vulnerable at the top of the market.

Money Dancer looks a very creditable alternative for trainer Noel Meade. After making a winning debut at the Curragh on the flat she lost her way a little but her Leopardstown debut jumps run was much more like it and she finished a full 16 lengths clear of Last Kingdom.

That’s a huge amount of form to turn around – even allowing for the magic of Willie Mullins.

TAD HAT-TRICK ON CARDS

⭕ 1.30 Lingfield Quite a few skinny ones on today’s card but the safest one could be Tadreeb who is napped to complete his course and distance hat-trick here.

He still seemed to have plenty in hand when winning last week to suggest an extra 4lb won’t trouble him too much and the ‘striking whilst the iron is hot’ policy looks a good strategy for trainer Rod Millman.

Richard Hannon has yet to hit top form and his Onslow Gardens here is a little inconsistent but has chances if showing his best form.

GOLD MEDAL CHANCE

⭕ 3.08 Exeter With question marks over many of the market leaders this might be left to the consistent Polisud.

Passing Kate is probably best watched on her chase debut. She was hammered by the handicapper for her 10 length hurdles win in December and has since disappointed off her revised mark at Chepstow.

Doyouknowwhatimean has questions to answer after pulling up at Chepstow last time out when the jockey said the gelding stopped quickly. That run came only 17 days ago.

Polisud has chasing experience in his native France but is another that is looking plenty high enough in the weights.

I’ll chance Valirann Gold for small stakes who at first glance has it to do from out of the weights but his form is decent enough at this level and he brings plenty of chasing experience to the table.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
