FOUR WINNING NAPS IN A ROW: After his 40-point diamond banker on Golden Horn in Saturday’s Eclipse, Daqman made it four winning naps in a row yesterday, through Almodovar (WON 1-1) at Ayr. The sequence is:

WON 4-5 Birdman
WON 9-4 Riflescope
WON 4-9 Golden Horn (banker)
WON 1-1 Almodovar

FIVE CONSECUTIVE LAYS LANDED: At Market Rasen, he gave seven reasons to lay a morning second-favourite, and put his money where his mouth is with a full-on place lay. The horse was fifth. His lays sequence is now:

WON (place lay) Collaboration (unplaced 8-1)
WON (lay) Telescope (unplaced 6-4 fav)
WON (lay) Wicklow Brave (unplaced 5-4 fav)
WON (lay) Cenotaph (3rd 15-8 fav)
WON (place lay) Speed Check (unplaced 6-1)

BETDAQ MEETING THROWS UP TOP PUNTS: It’s the week of the July Meeting at Newmarket, starting on Wednesday but, before taking a closer look, Daqman exposes the BETDAQ-sponsored meeting at Doncaster on Thursday as a place to spot talent with filling your wallet in mind.

THE QUEST FOR MORE BETDAQ BIG-RACE HINTS

Don’t miss Doncaster Thursday! If you like a punt in a handicap as I do, you’ll always be on the look-out for that proverbial ‘Group horse in a handicap’, and this Town Moor meeting, which has six BETDAQ-sponsored races, is known for producing top-line performers.

* 2.50 BETDAQ.COM £20 FREE BET EBF MAIDEN STAKES: Star product last season: Fox Trotter, trained Brian Meehan, ridden Martin Lane, won 10-1.

Went on to race in major two-year-old contests, including the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood – fourth to Ivawood – and the Horris Hill Stakes at Newbury.

* 3.25 DOWNLOAD THE BETDAQ+ APP MAIDEN STAKES: Muthmir took off here. This was the first win for the future Group-2 winner at Chantilly and Group-1 Kings Stand Stakes third.
Muthmir was, therefore, a Group horse in a handicap when he won the York Dash last July and the Ladbrokes Portland Handicap at Doncaster.

* 4.00 EBF BRITISH STALLIONS BREEDING WINNERS FILLIES’ HANDICAP: Another whopping winner last year when Water Hole scored for John Gosden on her way to black type in a Group-3 at Sandown.

* 4.35 BETDAQ 50% COMM BACK FIRST 3 MONTHS HANDICAP: Last year’s winner, Quest For More, was a Group horse in a handicap all right.

Yet he’s been allowed to win three major races this season at 7-2, 9-2 and 15-2, all handicaps, despite rocketing 29lb since this Doncaster win. His latest triumph came in the Northumberland Plate. Is there another like him lurking in this race on Thursday?

CLASSIC CAN WIN AT RIPON

As can be expected, the Racing is not great. I’m going to concentrate only on the Flat meetings as this appears to be where we can get most confidence in selections.

AYR I have two selections for Ayr today with the first one running at 3.35.

Under most other circumstances, Harwoods Volante wouldn’t be favourite as he looks to be at the height of his ability running off 82 but such is the poor quality of his opposition, it is difficult to oppose him today.

David O’Meara is a very shrewd trainer and he seems to have found a nice opportunity for this son of Kheleyf.

It is really hard to find an alternative with the only reliable danger appearing to come from Slemy who was fourth behind Harwoods Volante last time out but is best watched on his second run for the Ruth Carr stable.

The aformentioned, Ruth Carr can get on the scoresheet at 5.05 with Lexington Place however. He completed a hat-trick over course and distance last time and looks to be in top form for this contest.

Like the previous race, it is difficult to find an alternative with Lexington Place looking like the one that has most scope for improvement off a mark of 84. A four timer is well within the realms of possibility for this one.

WINDSOR The first of two Godolphin selections runs in Windsor at 7.55 and the William Buick mount, Pathway to Honour should prove difficult to beat coming off a 142 day layoff.

He faces some tough opposition but, although it took a while to get off the mark, his win at Lingfield was a decent performance, beating some nicely rated performers.

Charlie Appleby’s charge is well handicapped compared to rivals with Lady Marl and Highland Duke (1st and 2nd over C&D last time) needing to give a lot more to trouble the jolly. The Hannon/Hughes team go with Divine Law who looks well in the grasp of the Handicapper now.

RIPON Ten minutes later, Godolphin unleash another well handicapped sort in Classic Win. The colt by Invincible Spirit looked to be every bit a sprinter when winning first time out, beating the very well bred Accra Beach at Leicester.

The vibes were very good that day and he duly obligied but when stepped up to 7 furlongs at Sandown on his Handicap debut he didn’t stay and the drop back in trip should help hugely this evening. That was quite a decent race at Sandown and there has been several winners since.

Again, alternatives are few and far between and Classic Win should be more than capable of disposing of this weak field.

DAQMAN’S BETS (Staked 1-9pts on strength, 10pts for a Banker)
BET 5pts win HARWOODS VOLANTE (3.35 Ayr)
BET 3pts win LEXINGTON PLACE (5.05 Ayr)
BET 5pts win PATHWAY TO HONOUR (7.55 Windsor)
BET 8pts win (Nap) CLASSIC WIN (8.05 Ripon)
