11-4 NAP AMONG FIVE BIG HITS FOR DAQMAN: His nap, Eastlake (WON 11-4), was one of three consecutive winners for king-of-the-tipsters Daqman yesterday for a profit of 47 points from five weekend big-race hits.

FOUR WINNERS IN A ROW AT AINTREE: Eastlake completed four on the trot at Aintree. The Saturday-Sunday Aintree success, plus the big-race winner in Paris, gave him this weekend five:

WON 4-1 KARINGA DANCER (Aintree Saturday)
WON 17-2 CONQUISTO (Aintree Saturday)
WON 6-5 ELY BROWN (Aintree Sunday)
WON 11-4 EASTLAKE (Aintree Sunday, nap)
WON 18-5 TAC DE BOISTRON (Longchamp Sunday)

HILL CLIMBS TO TOP OF TWO-YEAR-OLDS TREE: Daqman puts the two-year-old colts to bed for the winter, with his top rating Kingston Hill. ‘He’s a smooth performer, who made it look easy on Saturday, and he will be even better on a sound surface. Best of the rest is Astaire, who has had more winners behind him than Guineas favourites Toormore, Australia and Kingman put together.’

121+ KINGSTON HILL (Roger Varian) On the day of the Old Roan Chase at Aintree, a colt of grey-roan distinction, but of a greatly different breed, the handsome Kingston Hill, won the soft-ground Racing Post Trophy, running straight as a die, seemingly loving it.

Many a breeder and pundit would scoff, had not his first-season sire, Mastercraftsman, already launched some decent sorts, including The Grey Gatsby (Acomb and Champagne runner-up), and Goodwood’s Prestige winner, Amazing Maria.

Kingston Hill beat the well-backed Johan Strauss, touted by Ballydoyle connections on the morning of the race, in preference to stablemate Century (not act on the ground).

The number of wins by horses behind Roger Varian’s colt in three consecutive successes total 23: WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

119+ ASTAIRE (Kevin Ryan) Had the yardstick Sudirman more than three lengths behind (Toormore did similar) when completing a Gimcrack/Middle Park double in grand style and winners behind him have now amassed 46 successes: WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

119+ TOORMORE (Richard Hannon) Toormore has now had 25 winners behind him in his winning races, which include the National Stakes at The Curragh: WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. But he’s slipped down some lists in the 2,000 Guineas market, because he hasn’t run since others have emerged.

117 WAR COMMAND (Aidan O’Brien) Beaten, when odds on, by Sudirman but bounced back to take a race of winners in the Futurity Stakes and then workmanlike to win the Dewhurst. Winners behind now WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

115 SUDIRMAN (David Wachman) Conqueror of War Command, but War Command has bounced back while Sudirman has been tamed by Toormore and Astaire: WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

110+ NIGHT OF THUNDER (Richard Hannon) Late-season developer, whose Listed win at Doncaster came at the expense of Stubbs (about nine lengths off War Command at Ascot) in third: WWWWWWW

110 GREAT WHITE EAGLE (Aidan O’Brien) The number of winners behind him (when he’s won) soared to 12, but at that point he failed to act at Newmarket in the Middle Park on an easy surface behind Astaire and adrift of Sudirman WWWWWWWWWWWW

109+ AUSTRALIA (Aidan O’Brien) Though he has scope for any amount of improvement, his form has stood still with only three winners behind him: WWW

109 KINGMAN (John Gosden) The number of winners behind him has remained the same since my last review of the juveniles scene and his Solario Stakes runner-up, Emirates Flyer, has been beaten in a Listed: WWWWWWW

* TOMORROW: The two-year-old fillies.
