DAQMAN SCUPPERS PRICEWISE 19-0: Daqman declares today at 22-12 up on Pricewise of the Racing Post in the current Jumps season, which gives way to the Flat on Saturday. It’s the 19th consecutive season in which Daqman has triumphed, scoring 1,056 winners along the way.

NOW A SUPERNAP RUNS AT NAVAN: Daqman follows up his 11 Cheltenham hits and 12-1 Midlands Grand National win with a celebratory supernap at Navan today. He drops an early hint for Saturday’s Irish Lincolnshire during a tips preview covering just 40 minutes’ racing.

DAQMAN WINS 1,056 RACES

Daqman has finished the Jumps 420 points up on Pricewise of the Racing Post to 10-point level-stakes, with his 19th consecutive winning season in their value match.

Daqman v. Pricewise reopens for the Flat on Saturday, and any Jumps bets will be included in the 2023 Flat challenge.

The NH season from November 2022 until last Saturday produced the lowest-ever return on both sides, with long spells of abandonment or small no-bet fields.

The Flat season usually has three times the number of winners, so something to look forward to. Totals:

2023 Flat season starts on Saturday with the Irish Lincolnshire

‘SECOND’ SHALL BE FIRST

⭕ 3.25 Navan (Webster Cup) Two tough-as-teak jumpers from different generations meet on the way to their respective Grand Nationals.

Any Second Now, who won this race in 2021, was runner-up in the Aintree marathon last year, after taking an alternative prep race, the Bobbyjo, at Fairyhouse.

Trainer Ted Walsh told Raceform: ‘He is a great, consistent sort who runs his heart and soul out.’

Busselton (‘hard as nails’ from the Joseph O’Brien yard) was runner-up last year at three consecutive festivals: Cheltenham, Punchestown and Galway. He goes for the Irish Grand National.

Today is level weights, giving Any Second Now a theoretical 11lb advantage to take the €21,000 trophy, but he’s giving away five years!

YEAH MAN LOOKS WELL IN

⭕ 3.55 Navan (Novice Handicap Chase Final) Back-to-form Velvet Elvis who could run well in the Webster Cup, won this race last year, the third consecutive six-year-old to score.

Aged six in this renewal is Gavin Cromwell’s Yeah Man, a Westerner out of a Kalanisi mare, who should thrive on this return to chasing from good efforts over hurdles which have kept his chase rating down.

Cromwell was out of luck at Cheltenham: Stumpton beaten a neck, Flooring Porter fourth after a pacy run.

But he saddled a winner at Thurles on Saturday and has a big chance in the Irish Lincolnshire this week with Dha Leath, a winner first time back on debut for the yard last April.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 8.8 Yeah Man

STABLE PEAKS AT THE TRACK

⭕ SOUTHWELL This is Martin Keighley’s leading track and Pinnacle Peak (3.35 at 11.0 offers) has won twice here, including over the CD.

Kim Bailey, who bagged a handicap on Midlands Grand National day, with the impressive Trelawne, also brings one back after a break; he’s hoping Pay The Pilot can bounce back at 16.0.

⭕ TAUNTON Alan King came back to form last week, capped by Major Dundee’s splendid 12-1 victory for me in the Midlands Grand National (15.0 on BETDAQ).

He has 20 entries this week, striving to hit 50 winners for the season; he just needs three. Fraternel (3.15) could beat a disappointing bunch here at a price. BETDAQ 6.4.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
