SATURDAY TARGET AND 35-POINT PROFIT FROM THE EARLY BIRDS Daqman is 35 points up with his early-bird Fortune Cookies and expects a big-odds winner on Saturday. He has another outsider today at 18.0 on AW but concentrates his stakes on a nap at Plumpton and a chaser with potential at Ayr.

FORTUNE COOKIES: THYME TO SHINE

⚠️ HEADS UP: Seven winners so far in the Fortune Cookies early-birds list (with 10-point stakes) for a 35-point profit. The list runs until after Christmas and is then revised for the major races at 20-point stakes.

⚠️ HEADS UP: I’m hoping to see Thyme White running at Ascot on Saturday. He’ll be a big price after being hampered out of the Intermediate Hurdle at Newbury in November.

WON 8-11 Atholl Street
WON 8-15 Ballyadam
WON 3-1 Cyrname
WON 8-11 Easywork
WON 2-11 Envoi Allen
WON 2-1 Galvin
WON 10-3 Vanillier

LOSERS: Seven. PROFIT: 35.01. RETAINED (Christmas-period entries listed next week):

Allmankind (Dan Skelton), Annie Mc (Jonjo O’Neill), Atholl Street (Paul Nicholls), Buzz (Nicky Henderson) Ballyadam (Gordon Elliott), Chatham Street Lad (Michael Winters), Easywork (Gordon Elliott), Envoi Allen (Gordon Elliott), Song For Someone (Tom Symonds), Cyrname (Paul Nicholls), Easysland (David Cottin), Enrilo (Paul Nicholls), Felix Desjy (Gordon Elliott), Franigane (Harry Whittington), Galvin (Gordon Elliottt), Ginto (Gordon Elliott), Greaneteen (Paul Nicholls), Imperial Aura (Kim Bailey), McFabulous (Paul Nicholls), Potters Corner (Christian Williams), Protektorat (Dan Skelton), Rouge Vif (Harry Whittington), Thyme White (Paul Nicholls), Vanillier (Gavin Cromwell).

DON’T FORGET TO LAY THE LOSERS

Goshen, the born loser. Gary Moore landed a hat-trick at Fontwell a week ago and, go back another four days, had back-to-back wins at Sandown.

But that solid streak of success – all smiles at the time – must now be a blur in the Moore memory after the Goshen flop in the International Hurdle.

That was his fourth losing comeback as favourite (next time he’ll beat Frank Sinatra’s record), and BETDAQ lay backers must wonder why punters follow such an animal like lemmings.

⭕ 12.48 Plumpton Moore has plenty of chances on this local track today, 17 miles from his Sussex yard, but I shall be surprised if his Full Back can defend against Acey Milan.

Full Back is bred to improve for the trip from his Fontwell chase debut but is currently rated 11lb behind Acey Milan, getting only 2lb today.

Acey Milan, hat-trick bumper winner, was runner-up in a Grade-3 hurdle at Haydock last year and scored smoothly on the soft over fences at Aintree in October after a wind op.

Out of his depth in the Ladbrokes’ John Francome Novices Chase at Newbury on a sound surface, he’s back in his comfort zone today, dropped in class on the soft. Ten wins you 7.5 Acey Milan for the nap.

⭕ 2.15 Ayr Nicky Richards’ Marown landed back-to-back wins over hurdles here at Ayr at today’s trip, and the 2m 4f+ distance for his second chase today is going to be his minimum over fences.

Unbeaten under Rules since he started chasing on the last day over 2m, clearly inadequate and designed to concentrate his jumping at the faster pace.

The seven lengths he finished behind Seemorelights will serve only to give us a better price Marown (2.37 BETDAQ this morning). Seemorelights 1-9 strike rate, with just the one win at 66-1, suggests not one to trust.

IN-FORM YARD IN 18.0 BETDAQ BID

⚠️ HEADS UP: The famous Southwell ‘sand’ track will be no more in 2021. The winter Flat game on AW is in the news this morning, with plans to convert Southwell to a Tapeta surface next year. Southwell has the only Fibresand surface left.

⭕ 4.00 Kempton Ralph Beckett has just completed a hat-trick, and landed four out of six in 11 days.

Richard Kingscote takes his first ride for the yard today since a one-time Fortune Cookie for the Guineas finally came good, Kinross scoring for us here in November.

Today’s ‘horse’ (gelded before this debut) is Fleurman, well bred and well drawn against the three-pronged attack by John Gosden. My outsider of the day.

Watch the market for Fleurman, who was 18.0 the win on the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE this morning and I took a place offer for double cover on the win stake.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
