CHAMPIONSHIP NAPS DOUBLE: Though the ground turned against him, Daqman had luck on his side with the Leopardstown nap yesterday: the Irish Champion Hurdle lost the gambled-on Lossiemouth (8-11 favourite) four out, leaving State Man to stroll home and complete a championship double at the meeting. That’s eight winning best bets in 11 days and a weekend naps profit of 22 points.

WON 5-4 STATE MAN (Irish Champion Hurdle) nap
WON 1-2 GALOPIN DES CHAMPS (Irish Gold Cup) supernap

BEACH CAN MAKE WAVES

⭕ 1.00 Punchestown This cross-country is regularly won back to back and routinely throws up La Touche winners on the same course in the Spring.

Coko Beach can continue these trends, having won this race last year on soft-heavy ground.

His luck ran out in the Grand National (not clear run three out) and then in La Touche (third on drying ground, giving a stone and a half to the winner).

BREAD-AND-BUTTER BET

⭕ 3.50 Southwell Olly Murphy, who trained five winners out of six, still standing, at the turn of the month, ranks Southwell among his top four tracks, success wise. He has five runners on today’s card, two of them in this.

Bread And Butter won over this trip at both Market Rasen and Huntingdon as part of an autumn hat-trick.

He was beaten at Taunton the last day because, or partly because, Lewis Saunders could claim only 3lb as it was a handicap for conditional jockeys.

He’s back to a full 7lb today and Bread And Butter (BETDAQ 10.5) has had more than a month off since Taunton.

Ben Pauling (Whatsupwithyou) triumphed with Handstands on Saturday and Warren Greatrex (Shantwopointfive) was not disgraced with a Good And Clever raid on Leopardstown yesterday.

But Bread And Butter’s stablemate, Bobby Socks, may be the one to beat on a drying surface (Betdaq Betting Exchange 5.0) offers this morning).

His step up to a stamina trip was the making of the Kayf Tara eight-year-old, who landed a double on summer ground in 2023, including a CD win, and has had a wind op since his comeback third in November.

INVINCIBLE: ALL ADDS UP

⭕ 5.00 Wolverhampton Handicap debut, well drawn, trainer in form and first-time ride for stable that gives his top jockey a 25% strike rate. That’s Invincible Melody for Ralph Beckett and Rossa Ryan.

Inconspicuous, also well drawn, was one for the money this morning, but a bigger danger may be the well-bred Blue Anthem, another making his debut after the required three maiden runs.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
