FORTUNE COOKIES INCLUDE BETDAQ BETS THIS WEEK: Daqman today launches his Fortune Cookies (early birds) for the NH season to Cheltenham 2021. All are followed to a 10-point stake until elected to a list for 20-point stakes from Christmas and the New Year. Today’s preliminary list contains possible bets for the BETDAQ meeting at Punchestown on Wednesday and the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal on Saturday.

REDCAR TRIO: DAQMAN stays in the North East for his three bets on Monday. First up is his NAP in the 1.15pm.

FORTUNE COOKIES: The Early Birds

🏇 Aramon (Willie Mullins) County Hurdle runner-up at Cheltenham in March, won Graded hurdle at Tipperary and Guinness Galway Hurdle in the summer.

🏇 Chris’s Dream (Henry De Bromhead) Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal on Saturday, the last day of October, is the target for the winner of the Ladbrokes Troytown last November and the Red Mills Chase in February.

🏇 Cyrname (Paul Nicholls) Because of the restrictions, has to swerve the Ladbrokes Champion Chase. Joint-top of the classifications with Gold Cup winner, Al Boum Photo, he is rerouted to the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.

🏇 Easysland (David Cottin) Beat Tiger Roll in the cross-country at Cheltenham in March and will travel over from France for the two preliminary banks races at Cheltenham this winter.

🏇 Easywork (Gordon Elliott) Hat-trick horse over hurdles but ran too freely in the Ballymore. Could make his chasing debut in the BETDAQ Beginners Chase at Punchestown on Wednesday.

🏇 Darver Star
(Gavin Cromwell) Champion Hurdle third and impressive winner on his fencing debut in a Ladbrokes beginners chase at Punchestown earlier this month.

🏇 Franigane
(Harry Whittington) Potential all-rounder, related to winners over hurdles and fences and in cross-countrys. Trainer’s favourite.

🏇 McFabulous
(Paul Nicholls) Dubbed a star in the making, after an exhibition round in the Persian War Novices at Chepstow early this month. Fortunately, we got the ‘strength’ before the race so able to nap him.

🏇 Rouge Vif (Harry Whittington) Good-actioned horse with a high cruising speed, toyed with them over the last few fences at Cheltenham recently, and Champion Chase potential.

🏇 Saint Roi
(Willie Mullins) Bolted up in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham in March. Quickened clear to score at Tipperary early this month.

🏇 Thyme White (Paul Nicholls) Heading for the Greatwood after coming to himself – tipped by yours truly – as a tasty 6-1 winner at Chepstow earlier this month.

🏇 Topofthegame (Paul Nicholls) Narrow defeat in the Coral Cup in 2018, awesome winner of the RSA 2019. Clearly loves Cheltenham and his name is already engraved on the Gold Cup.

🏇 Vanillier
(Gavin Cromwell): Impressive winner of point-to-point in December. Reserve at Wexford, Sunday; may now run in the BETDAQ 2% Commission Exchange Maiden Hurdle at Punchestown on Wednesday.

Runners so far
0 🏇 Annie Mc (Jonjo O’Neill) unplaced; held up all the way, Aintree Sunday.
W 🏇 Galvin (Gordon Elliottt) WON 2-1, Cheltenham, October 23. Impressive.

MURPHY TO TURN ON THE HEAT

⭕ 1.15 Redcar Another week in the unexpected late season drama of the 2020 Jockey’s Championship. It looked all over bar the shouting for Oisin Murphy but it seems William Buick has other ideas.

Murphy is still odds-on to collect with a healthy lead of nine but at this stage it can often be as much about quantity over quality of rides.

Buick has eight rides at Newcastle for their meeting which starts at 3.20pm and he will be no doubt hoping the lead is still in single figures.

But I’m not expecting that to be the case as Murphy should strike at Redcar with Turn On The Charm – one of five rides for the reigning champ on the Cleveland card.

James Fanshawe trains Turn On The Charm who bids for a hat-trick after wins at Kempton and Nottingham and the trainer isn’t in bad form himself either with two winners from his last three runners – one of which was partnered by Buick!

It’s Murphy though that picks up the ride today – onboard for the first time.

He still had plenty in hand when winning at Nottingham to suggest he can cope with a 6lb hike in the weights. This is his first try on a softer surface but if you go on pedigree he should relish that even more.

Young Fire looks the danger after a creditable fourth in a class 2 at York last time out and he has proven form on the soft.

FLEETWOOD LOOKS BEST OF HIS PIERS

⭕ 2.25 Redcar Bravado heads the the BETDAQ Betting Exchange market but might prove vulnerable under his 4lb penalty.

The Mark Johnston trained runner was nibbled at in the market before making a winning debut at Wolverhampton but it didn’t look the strongest of contests at the time and soft ground at Redcar will be a whole new challenge and not something that I want to play around with at short odds.

The Michael Dods trained Fleetwood Pier looks a big threat – he made his debut at Ayr on heavy ground and was only beaten two lengths into fourth by Intrusive who went on to run in a Listed race.

It was a good debut effort, we know he will handle the ground and he can only improve for that run.

GO WITH THE FLOW

⭕ 3.35 Redcar A speculative play here on the John Quinn trained Airflow (and another for Oisin Murphy) in the hope that the first time blinkers will help.

He was disappointing at Yarmouth but that came after a 111 day break so may have needed it. The seven furlong trip also looked to stretch him so he might be worth another chance over six, the blinkers, a hungry jockey onboard and with a 5lb present from the handicapper.

It’s a wide open race – the BETDAQ market struggled this morning to find a favourite with six of the nine runners vying for that spot !

DAQMAN’S BETS (all staked to win 10 points)
BET 4.6pts win (nap) TURN ON THE CHARM (1.15 Redcar)
BET 3.9pts win FLEETWOOD PIER (2.25 Redcar)
BET 1.8pts win AIRFLOW (3.35 Redcar)

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
