TWO BULL’S-EYE BETS ON THE BALLYHANE: Daqman puts his money down on the big two-year-old race, the Ballyhane at Naas in Ireland today, one bet on the best of the English raiders, one on an eye-catching Irish filly. He hopes to hit a 50-point bull’s-eye with one of them. He relies on the draw factor there and for another sprint at Windsor tonight. The nap is in the feature race at Ripon.

TOMORROW: INSIDE THE BIG-RACE SCENE: How to win at the big meetings where the big prices are. Daqman starts a new series tomorrow.

BOSH HAS HIGH-STALL ADVANTAGE

⭕ 2.25 Naas (Ballyhane Stakes) An Auction race for two-year-olds with a massive 148,500-euro first prize. No wonder it’s split, with a Silver consolation at 3.35 but the stats say that middle-to-high numbers dominate from the draw.

The result by stall of the first running last year was 17, 10, 19, 7, 20, 13 (of 19 starters), and the three CD winners in today’s race scored from 8/9 (Hadman), 9/10 (Sacred Bridge) and 6/8 (Recurrent Dream), revealing that the edge persists, even in smaller fields.

Ger Lyons’ Sacred Bridge has a high draw again today, coming out of stall 20, next door to the English raiders, Richard Hannon’s Bosh (19) and Tom Dascombe’s Ever Given (18).

Kevin Ryan saddles two but they have it all to do from gates 4 and 10, and Bosh appears to have a big advantage as a dual winner already, with second and third from his Newbury strike both scoring next time.

Gavin Cromwell’s Sunset Shiraz (21) appeals as a filly with pace who drops back from a mile; she was the early bird for money in the markets.

BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE value 7.0 Sunset Shiraz, 9.0 Bosh

NO SLIP-UP FOR PAWS THIS TIME

⭕ 3.42 Ripon (Armstrong Memorial) A marker at this stage of the season is this Armstrong MemoriaL, with old Bossipop trying to win the 6f race again two years on.

He’s continued to win once a year but only when dropped to class 4, though his June form here looks flattering – third to Commanche Falls – with that one winning the Stewards Cup on Saturday.

Chester winner Paws For Thought slipped leaving the stalls for the Hamilton Stewards Cup, also won by Commanche Falls, with Saturday’s Stewards Sprint winner at Goodwood, Mr Wagyu, in third. Paws has also slipped down the handicap.

Fortamour was third to Bossipop last summer and is now 9lb better off for three parts of a length; on a decent mark down the handicap and Paul Hanagan is booked.

Stablemate Macho Pride is said to be progressive but, in fact, had dropped 12lb until taking a class-5 contest at Haydock on the last day.

After Gale Force Maya won at Doncaster in April, the subsequent 7lb rise to 92 has seen her 0303 off that mark in four races during June and July. Winning at Catterick 19 days ago has cost Intrinsic Bond 10lb.

BETDAQ value 5.9 Paws For Thought

KINGSCOTE TO FIRE UP 19.0 TINTO

⭕ 6.45 Windsor There’s another draw edge – to low numbers – in this 6f sprint with stalls 3 and 5 (twice) winning in three of the last four seasons.

Windsor specialist A Sure Welcome has recent form there of 2131 but is high in the handicap now and both strikes in that sequence were at 5f.

Chairmanoftheboard was a winner at Windsor last June but needs to drop a few pounds.

Open Wide had a sequence of 12223312 (including placed twice in today’s race) but the seven-year-old’s form has dropped off lately, and I fancy stablemate Tinto (stall 4).

Tinto won off 91, 96 and 100 up to last June; now off 94, and with Richard Kingscote booked, he can follow up two recent places at Windsor, one when worse off behind Punchbowl Flyer,.

Not punished in the Stewards Cup, after being slowly away. Turns out quickly for this, with Kingscote’s job to get him away on level terms.

BETDAQ value 19.0 Tinto

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
