DAQMAN HUNTS DOWN A RECORD 105 HITS: Brando’s big win takes Daqman 313 points clear of Pricewise of the Racing Post to a point stake. The scores are now Daqman 67, Pricewise 11, but it’s still only Daqman’s fourth best total against Pricewise at this stage. However, he has more than three months to beat his 105 total in the 2015 Flat season and the 88 of last year’s Flat.

AUTUMN APPROACHING AT 2pm
2.00 Salisbury That can’t be it for the summer…. can it? Chillier start this morning and the nights are already drawing in but we can at least make it a winning Monday with the John Gosden trained Ode To Autumn in the opener at Salisbury.
Quite often Salisbury maidens throw up very good future stars and Ode To Autumn has already made a good start to his career by finishing second to Mildenberger on good to soft ground at Newbury.
He was beaten five lengths by the impressive winner that day who went on to finish third last week in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and is now rated 96. The Newbury form looks well above average, as often is the case with that track and Ode To Autumn has proved a market positive so far today.
It would be frankly disappointing if Ode To Autumn didn’t improve enough to beat the 72 rated Move Over who went closest to his first win with a head defeat at Ffos Las last time out. Front running tactics were deployed for the first time that day and that might be the plan again but he should provide a sitting duck for the selection and nap.
The risk will be one of the newcomers proving good enough but it’s a calculated risk given the level of form Ode To Autumn has already shown and none of the debutants are being particularly supported in the morning market at least.
3.30 Salisbury A 14 runner maiden fillies heat jam-packed with potential improvers.
Awfaa is short in the market and represents Sir Michael Stoute. Her two and a quarter length second to Pretty Asset at Newmarket reads well enough but the winner was a well held fifth in handicap company at Glorious Goodwood and I’m not sure Awfaa should be quite as short as the 2.4 quote on BETDAQ at midday.
At over double the price, I prefer the Roger Varian trained Ambrosia, a daughter of Frankel.
She improved on her second start to finish fifth at Newmarket last season and returns today for a stable in top form and is likely to relish the give in the ground.
8.15 Windsor In contrast to Salisbury it’s much faster ground at Windsor and that may well suit the versatile Flowing Clarets who was a good to firm Lingfield winner in June.
She’s a previous winner here and I think several of her rivals are high in the weights including Zipedeedodah who is better on the all-weather.
