SUN SHINES ON DAQMAN SUPERNAP: THAT’S 12 WINS, ONE LOSER Daqman won with his supernap yet again yesterday, when Sun Maiden was winner number 12 from the last 13, again only a shade of odds on at times before the race and returning 4-5. This week Daqman takes the opportunity to review his tipping methods, assessing them to level stakes. The last three days shows success with some of the different bets:
WON 4-5 SUN MAIDEN (Sunday supernap)
WON 5-1 LE DON DE VIE (Saturday bull’s-eye nap)
WON 8-1 ANAPURNA (Friday Oaks bulls-eye bet)
DAQMAN REVIEWS HIS BETTING TACTICS IN TIME FOR ‘LUCKY 13’ Daqman divides his tipping into four main areas, and this week he’ll be checking out what they have achieved and what he plans for the future.
DAILY Three or four daily bets, with a staking plan intended to square the days outlay or show a profit by targeting returns. The bets show the target amount (example ‘win 20’) and the stakes required.
WEEKLY Once or twice a week, he will be so confident in his daily best bet (the nap) that he will invest the maximum, 20 points stake. This is the supernap, now looking for winner number 13 in the current sequence.
BIG-RACE DAYS On weekends and big-race days, he will seek out value among the bigger offers, often in races that Pricewise advertises. These races might be bull’s-eye bets to win 50 points.
MONTHLY Once or twice, maybe three times a month, at any time, his bet to win 50 may also be his nap of the day. This is the ‘bull’s-eye nap’.
170 POINTS PROFIT FROM SUPERNAPS
Unlucky 13? Not on your life. Daqman’s supernap spree continued yesterday, with winner number 12 from the last 13. Five of them have been odds against or even money at some time in the run-up to the race, and one or two that finished very short were BETDAQ backable at only a shade of odds on.
But the profit and loss to a 20-point level stake is here assessed at SP to help you decide whether this is the right betting area for you, or whether other areas discussed later in the week provide the outcome you are looking for.
The 13 supernaps which produced a profit of 169.55 (for 65% ROI) to the 20-point stakes have been:
WON 4-5 SUN MAIDEN
WON 4-11 MAKAWEE
WON 7-10 SIYARAFINA (Prix Saint Alary, Longchamp)
WON 1-5 PISTOLETTO
WON 2-9 CRYSTAL OCEAN (Aston Park Stakes)
WON 4-5 STRADIVARIUS (Yorkshire Cup)
WON 1-3 LAH TI DAR (Middleton Stakes, York)
WON 10-11 CAPE VICTORY
WON 1-2 PERSIAN KING (French 2,000 Guineas)
WON 2-5 BROOME (Leopardstown Derby Trial)
WON 2-1 ANTHONY VAN DYCK (Lingfield Derby Trial)
WON 5-4 CIRCUS MAXIMUS (Dee Stakes)
FIRST STRIKE TO FAHEY AT THIRSK
2.00 Brighton Ghepardo handles the contours of Brighton well – her only career success came here – and she comes into this on the back of a solid effort at Bath last time out when a half length second to Roys Dream in a fillies handicap that, if anything, looked more competitive than this.
The confidence has to be tempered a little by the fact that the handicapper has put her up 3lb for that effort which seems a little harsh for a horse with a 1/17 career record but I still think she can get the better of this field.
Normal Equilibrium (9) and Come On Dave (10) are entering the veteran stages and a bigger threat could come from Essaka who goes well for 7lb claimer Sophie Ralston and is another runner that loves the seaside air at Brighton. Essaka was slowly away last time out at Windsor but recovered to finish second but can’t really afford to be tardy at the start here where being up with the pace is usually the key.
She’s the first bet today – one winner guarantees a profit on the DAQMAN staking plan as discussed in the tactics above.
2.15 Thirsk The Richard Fahey trained Toro Strike went into my notebook after his debut at Newbury in a class 2. The Al Shaqab Racing-owned colt was as green as the grass as he was running on and swung right leaving the stalls but still put in an effort full of promise to take fifth.
This clearly represents a massive drop in class and it would be disappointing if he couldn’t improve sufficiently to land this and should prove too strong for Ripon runner-up Oso Rapido who was beaten seven lengths and Hamilton third No Mercy who is up in trip.
7.30 Windsor This class 3 looks one of the better races on a modest Monday.
Richard Hannon’s Naughty Rascal is taking a big drop in class and can make a bold bid off top weight.
His last three efforts have come in competitive handicaps at Newmarket and Newbury and I think the drop down in distance to the minimum today is also a positive.
Thegreatestshowman is running well but tends to run free and gets excitable in the stalls. Hopefully the first time cheekpieces will have a calming effect for his supporters.
