AINTREE OFFERS TEMPT A MAN HOLDING 17.0 THE FAVOURITE: After his one-two in the Lincoln (9-2 and 16-1), Daqman is keen to get on with the Grand National! He has a 17.0 BETDAQ value bet which is now 5.5, and today checks out the BETDAQ ante-post offers, where more value abounds.

NICHOLLS FOR RETURN TO FORM WITH A BANKER AND A NAP: Daqman naps Paul Nicholls to return to form on his local track, Wincanton, where Tom and Michael Scudamore get together for one who was unlucky there and is now clearly underrated. Nicholls has four home runners and a banker for your Daq Multiples at Fontwell.

12 BETDAQ NATIONAL BARGAINS

5.15 Grand National (Aintree, Saturday, April 10): I couldn’t wait for the Grand National. I convinced myself it was this coming Saturday.

Now I’ll have the 17.0 BETDAQ ante-post about Cloth Cap burning a hole in my wallet until after Easter, as it builds up the ‘overs’ (currently offered at 5.5).

I expected to be writing at this time about the big decision: whether to wait and cash out Cloth Cap; lay some of the 11.5 points of ‘overs’; or spend some of them on a second Grand National bet.

It’s got me digging out value in the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE ante-post orange, and it’s not hard to find.

Just look how many of the front-runners in the markets are bigger than with the bookies (none shorter); BETDAQ offers at left:

15.0 BURROWS SAINT: 10-1, 11-1, 12-1, 14 in a place with bookmakers
15.5 KIMBERLITE CANDY: against 12-1 and 14-1.
16.0 MINELLA TIMES: 12-1 to 14-1
18.0 SECRET REPRIEVE: 14-1 with most
28.0 THE STORYTELLER: 20-1, 22-1 and 25-1 in a couple of places
29.0 MAGIC OF LIGHT: 20-1 all round.
40.0 FARCLAS: 33-1 but 25-1 in a place
49.0 YALA ENKI: 33-1 generally; some 25-1, some 40-1.
50.0 LAKE VIEW LAD: 33-1 generally, one or two at 40-1.
62.0 VIEUX LION ROUGE: 40-1 except one firm at 50-1
70.0 BRAHMA BULL: 33-1 with most; 25-1 in a place, 40-1 in a place.
76.0 BALKO DES FLOS: mainly 33-1 and 40-1, some 50-1.

DON’T LOOK ROUND, DANNY..

⭕ 2.00 Wincanton Paul Nicholls is just now emerging from a loss of form which was notable at Cheltenham, and Harry Cobden has slipped well behind Brian Hughes and Harry Skelton.

Pick for the pair today could be the giant Danny Kirwan, whose wins come outside Graded company, as today, and Harry knows how to do it: from the front.

It’s an ideal situation on this fast course when you’ve already beaten the danger, Beyond The Pale, on Danny’s stablemate, Zyon in November: from the front.

⭕ 2.40 Fontwell While he has four chances on his home course, Wincanton, Nicholls sends one on a solo mission to Fontwell.
Fidelio Vallis looks a bit short for a single bet but ideal for Daq Multiples with your better-priced fancies.

SCU’S ME: IT’S SASHENKA’S TURN

⭕ 3.00 Wincanton Michael Scudamore is in fine form, notably winning the Northern Triumph-style juvenile title with Caldwell.

Meanwhile, Tom Scudamore was at the big southern meetings, riding three winners from five rides in five days.

They combine here with Sashenka, who has been expensive to follow, beaten favourite in three of her last five starts.

Last time they were together, Sashenka was still moving powerfully when she came down at the second last at Catterick.

The mare’s best effort was here at Wincanton, when beaten by Little River Bay, with a dozen others behind. The winner went on to score two more and complete a hat-trick, now rated 132, which suggests that Sashenka (off 116 today) can be marked up a bit.

Sweet Adore has kept good company, winners of her races including Miranda, Annie Mc and Eldorado Allen. Maybe she will benefit from her break but her best form is on the soft and she’s been beaten at Wincanton both over fences and hurdles.

Trickle Nickle won here earlier in the month but beat only moderate maidens, and I fancy the Scudamores have this in the bag.

ZAFAR MAY LIKE FONTWELL FIRM

⭕ 4.10 Fontwell If Philip Hobbs goes North (Wetherby) or south (Fontwell), you can reckon on one in four will win, and at good prices.

Both venues have meetings this week, and he is also well represented at one of his local tracks, Wincanton.

Just one horse travels to Fontwell. Zafar is in a race in which the yard is 100% (2-2) and he’s by a sire whose progeny have a 67% strike rate on firm ground.

Zafar has dropped 13lb in the ratings since being gelded and steps up to today’s trip for the first time. I took 5.0 in the BETDAQ orange.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
