SUNDAY BIG-RACE DOUBLE AT 10-1 AND 11-1: Daqman, who has just won 203.88 with his naps (six out of eight up to yesterday), capped it all with a Sunday roasting for the layers. He landed two big races at two big prices for a profit in one day of 45.10 points, following two Saturday strikes in the last eight days of Daqman fireworks. Feature-race tally:
WON 11-1 THE BIG DOG (Nov 27 win-50 bet, Troytown Chase yesterday)
WON 10-1 DAWN RISING (Nov 27 Monksfield Hurdle)
WON 6-4 L’HOMME PRESSE (Nov 26 nap, Rehearsal Chase)
WON 15-2 PROTEKTORAT (Nov 19 nap, Lancashire Chase)
PREVIEWS: November goes out like a damp squib in the next couple of days but December is jumping! Daqman previews more goodies at Sandown, Fairyhouse, Aintree and Cheltenham and concentrates his Fortune Cookies on the best horses.
TODAY: Follow tonight’s racing as Daqman tries staking to trap the winners of a top trainer and top jockey at different meetings on AW.
HOW FAR CAN DAWN GO ON RISING?
Here’s a Dawn Run, I said. I was referring to Constitution Hill but the thought spilled over into my headline for the Monksfield Novice Hurdle yesterday, in which another Dawn was running at 12.5 on BETDAQ.
As that race reached the final stages at Navan, Affordale Fury and the odds-on American Mike were having a private all-the-way battle and my bet, Dawn Rising, looked as hopeless as his 500-in-running offers on the exchanges.
My thoughts were: the front two have gone too fast but Mark Walsh has left many lengths to find; they will be happy with this outing if he just concentrates on sharpening his hurdling..
No sooner had I made such notes for this wrap than Affordale Fury began to weaken and American Mike to come under pressure.. with Dawn Rising suddenly galvanised into gear.
Fury flopped over the next fence and hampered Dawn Rising (surely that’s that!) but American Mike was at the end of his tether, ‘weakening when mistake last,’ and Dawn Rising went by, as if some god of good fortune had just slipped him into the race as an afterthought.
As I say every time, it’s easy to get carried away, but I put Dawn Rising into this as a former Group colt on the Flat, and ask do you now wish you’d backed American Mike when he was 13-2 favourite for the Albert Bartlett?
There is room for improvement in Dawn Rising’s jumping and for this experience. But that’s just the point! Whatever he can add to this performance places him in very high rank; a Fortune Cookie for me.
DHABAB CAN TAKE THE LISTED CASH
⚠️ HEADS UP: It’s donkey racing today but, if you can’t follow the horses, try playing the jockeys and trainers who farm this low-level stuff.
John and Thady Gosden are currently 50% at Kempton with 2-4 at the last two meetings, rising to 67% overall this season (2-3) when picking the Listed plums there. So, in form and on target in the 5.15 today.
At Wolverhampton, jockey Kevin Stott is 67% for Philip Kirby and 100% for Roger Varian this season,. His rides for them in the 5.55 and 6.55 are among bookings in eight of the nine races.
⭕ 5.15 Kempton This is the quality race of the day with two Group performers trying to pick up a Listed.
Team Gosden’s contender Dhabab looks well up to it after a year’s break for a make-over of gelding and wind surgery after he went close at Group-2 level, third to that year’s Dewhurst winner, Native Trail.
Dhabab’s comeback produced a comfortable victory at Lingfield last month over older horses.
Cash was runner-up to Westover in the Sandown Classic Trial in the Spring but has not been seen since.
The grey was always unruly and I’m surprised that he hasn’t been gelded.

SHINING DOUBLE BID FOR GOSDEN
⭕ 6.25 Wolverhampton Kevin Stott’s mount, The Thin Blue Line, plummets to this class 5 for the first time since he won here in February.
Since then, he’s scored in class 4 on turf and twice come within a length of victory at higher level in the Sandown Sunday Series Sprint and fourth in the Ayr Bronze Cup. BETDAQ 4.8.
⭕ 6.55 Wolverhampton Stott again. Love Trophy Power has had excuses at Ascot (slow away) after back-to-back hits in the summer, but she was supported overnight for her second run in cheekpieces. BETDAQ 6.8
⭕ 7.25 Wolverhampton Team Gosden have three runners at Kempton this afternoon and just the one on the night shift at Wolver.
The solo raid on the Midlands track is by Shining Al Danah (BETDAQ 2.75), heading for a hat-trick here after scoring at Yarmouth on turf and Newcastle on Tapeta.
Danah is staying with Tapeta, but moving up to handicap company off a mark that has her carrying 9st in this class 3.
Ever since she started winning in June last year, Cherish has been unable to raise her game above class 5. She’s won eight times but her form in class 4 or higher is 022.
Dora Penny has done well this year with five wins, all bar one in class 5 though she did go well in today’s grade on turf at Goodwood.
It strikes me that the opposition to another step forward by the unexposed Shining Al Danah is from a fairly static place in the rankings.
Danah is a three-year-old going on four in a few weeks’ time. Her rating is higher with the trade paper than her official figure, and I agree.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
