VOYAGE GETS THE TRIP
⭕ 4.00 Wincanton: An average field size of just over 5 at Wincanton today – presumably the omission of soft in the going description (good) is to blame?
Space Voyage has won two of her last three races and is taken to defy her 7lb fixed penalty for her 15 length romp at Market Rasen eight days ago when she clearly looked well ahead of her current handicap mark and goes well over this 3m+ trip.
Moviddy is 0-10 over fences and let her supporters down in a similar race at Fakenham last time out when sent off the 4/5 favourite and despite the consistency may need some help from the handicapper.
⭕ 4.17 Lingfield: Gallant heads the market and could go off odds on but has a couple of solid form alternatives in opposition.
His chance is fairly obvious after a good win at Kempton on his second start but the down side is that he hasn’t been seen since that run 173 days ago.
Diablo Rojo has been off the course for even longer and the door might open again for Hello Zaman or Don Pacifico who both bring more recent winning form to the table.
There was plenty to like about Hello Zaman’s three length win over course and distance in January whilst Don Pacifico can only improve after his Southwell success.
KATE THE LATE BET
⭕ 6.30 Wolverhampton: The small field theme of the day continues at Dunstall Park tonight but this four runner event does look the most interesting race on the card.
Tuscan Star is sure to make a bold bid to complete a four-timer – bidding to add Wolverhampton to his recent AW wins at Southwell, Newcastle and Kempton but a 4lb rise just makes life slightly tougher.
I prefer the chance of the filly Kate O’Riley who looks well treated on handicap debut and the Michael Bell yard are in irresistible form – winning with their last four runners (also run Prince Rasam in the 2.17 Lingfield today).
Kate O’Riley won here at Wolverhampton last November over a trip just north of a mile but should be seen to even better effect over this 1m 4f distance.
Ray Gun is a little more exposed than the Betdaq Betting Exchange principals. He was a course and distance second two starts ago but is edging up the weights for NOT winning – something I’m never to keen on.
The outsider of the party is Magna Gee Gee who hasn’t really built on his course win last December and I’m not convinced the longer trip is suiting him.
