YOU BET ON THE SUN FIRST

THE SUN is shining on the Black Country and Wolverhampton was ‘reasonably confident’ this morning that a nine-race card can go ahead from 4pm, though the course failed a 9.30 am inspection.

⭕ 4.30 Wolverhampton They don’t miss a trick, do they! Edward Greatrex has ridden five winners since Boxing Day and Ian Williams has trained six.

Here they are together with a rare role for the eight-year-old Mr Trick (4.30), attempting to strike over 7f some 27lb lower than when he did it on turf.

He’s 11lb below his last winning mark on AW two years ago over 1m 2f but hasn’t raced since August, and his last 7f attempts include just a length defeat at Newcastle. Betdaq Betting Exchange 9.9

ABANDO IF NOT ABANDONED

⭕ 5.30 Wolverhampton Here’s a ‘hidden horse.’ Abando ran in three consecutive Group races last year including the German Derby.

Weakened only in the final furlong switched to England with Marco Botti in September before moving again and first run today for Jamie Osborne, who has had three winners at the turn of the year. BETDAQ 6.5.

THE DRAW COULD DECIDE

⭕ 8.00 Wolverhampton There are two in this dropping back to 5f from good draws. David O’Meara sends Auntie Jo down from god’s-own Yorkshire village of Helmsley (pronounced ‘Emsley by the locals) to this his winningmost track (130 strikes for close on £1m).

Auntie Jo ran well over 6f at Newcastle on New Year’s Day, unfancied at 20-1 but was getting plenty of market interest this morning. BETDAQ 5.8.

Stuart Edmunds had a winner at Cheltenham on that first day of the year day and Inconspicuous could be the best outsider.

It’s a few days short of a year ago since Inconspicuous last ran over 5f and tried to make all at Lingfield, fading close home off 63.

He then put in a similar performance, leading at a fast pace for some way here at Wolver (6f) in February, down to 60.

Today, he’s a stone lower on 46 but any price you like (82.0 offers on BETDAQ this morning).

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
