BRAVE BETS AT THREE BIG MEETINGS: Daqman has it all today: two Hot Spots and a Supernap, plus bull’s-eye bets. But he warns: ‘The Stewards were busier this morning than some of the horses I’ve backed lately! After inspections, the big meetings at Ascot, Haydock and Wincanton survived this morning as a survival test for punters this afternoon!’

LOCAL HEROES CAN WALK IT

⭕ 1.35 Wincanton (Kingwell Hurdle) The Google map says it’s a walk of 2hr 58min from the Tizzard stables to Wincanton racecourse (shum mishtake surely).

It’s only about eight miles but a long walk home for Joe’s team if Alexei fails to land the Kingwell and take the Tizzards close to £1m in prizemoney in this revival season.

In one of diminished quality in his string, Paul Nicholls – 10 miles to walk from Ditcheat! – is revealing the reason why he first broke the £4m record as champion: amazing resilience and perfect placing of his horses.

Can his dual Elite winner on this course, Rubaud, upset Alexei from a pound higher in the ratings but giving the Tizzard’s Champion Hurdle hope 2lb on heavy going?

The big differences are the conditions and their age. Statistically, at eight (just two winners of this in 27 years), the good-ground winner nine times Rubaud is past it, and six-year-old improver Alexei was impressive in the Greatwood on the soft.

HERE’S LOOKING AT YOU, KID

⭕ 1.50 Ascot (Reynoldstown Novices Chase) Another good race for the Tizzards (4-7) but hard to oppose The Jukebox Kid, well backed to score over this trip at Ascot the last day.

Western Knight (Tizzard) is going for a hat-trick, but his two recent small-field wins at Haydock then at Doncaster follow an autumn double, also over shorter, the year before.

He lost form afterwards, failing four times in a row over 3m, and Crest Of Fortune is also without success at today’s trip.

CAPTAIN, OH MY CAPTAIN..

⭕ 2.25 Ascot Paul Nicholls has won this twice since 2019 and favourites are 3-4. Captain Teague reverts to hurdles.

He still has to bounce back from his year off, since finishing lame behind The Jukebox Man in the John Francome.

But he is dropping back today to around his winning trip in the Challow and the Persian War of 2023, after a close third in the Champion Bumper. Betdaq Betting Exchange 9.7

Up in trip, Fiercely Proud won a Grade-3 handicap here at Ascot a year or so back, beating Kabral Du Mathan, and was not disgraced, fifth in the Greatwood in November. BETDAQ 13.0

REGARD’S HOT COURSE FORM

⭕ 3.00 Ascot Threeunderthrufive won this 3m handicap chase in 2024 and was second last year.

But he’s giving a stone and more to Montregard, an Ascot winner in November and second on the course in a better grade in January to The Jukebox Kid, who can boost the form earlier today. BETDAQ 4.5

Your Darling has won three times in class 2, two of them here at Ascot but now has to step up in grade at age 11. A very similar profile applies to hat-trick seeker Nocte Volatus.

Sussex National winner and Surrey National third, Invincible Nao could use his stamina in the mud. BETDAQ 18.5.

GROUNDS TO PREFER JONBON

⭕ 3.35 Ascot Chase Pic d‘Orhy (5-9 over fences at Ascot) has made all in this for two years running but now faces different conditions and is up against the year-younger Jonbon, whose own Ascot form is 111 among 26 consecutive races in the first two.

Jonbon is 10 now but Pic d’Orhy 11 and old adversary Edwardstone, whom Jonbon beat twice on soft-heavy two years ago, is a veteran at 12 and down a stone in the ratings.

SILENCE IS GOLDEN IN TRIAL

⭕ 3.15 Haydock (Grand National Trial) Previewed in Monday and Wednesday Daqman. Selections (see below). BETDAQ offers this morning 7.9 Deafening Silence, 8.4 Holokea

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
