THREE MEETINGS PACKED WITH BETDAQ VALUE: Daqman’s ‘man in the long grass’ claims to have found a handicapper today which could even reach Pattern level, so rapidly is he said to be improving. He’s the nap at Chelmsford tonight. But afternoon AW cards have also survived, packed with BETDAQ betting value.

183 POINTS UP: FOUR FROM FOUR SUPERNAPS: As usual Daqman challenges Pricewise today (1.45, 2.55 and 3.30 Lingfield), as he lines up with his tipping artillery looking like this:

  • NAPS 8 from 12 (for 183 points profit)
  • SUPERNAPS 4 winners from 4 bets
  • LAYS 3 out of the last 4
  • CHALLENGE: Daqman 20, Pricewise 10 (+42 profit to -13)

SUPER VALUE IN THE ORANGE..

We’re still adrift in the snow. But only three weeks to the Lincoln, and All three AW meetings seem to have survived today.

But watch for non-runners, with transport to some of the tracks a bigger problem than the course conditions.

Interesting clash at Newcastle (3.50) in a class 3, between Brian Ellison and Donald McCain, who both had doubles on the BETDAQ card at Southwell yesterday.

I’ll take Flat winner twice William of Orange for McCain to have too much speed for quality chaser Forest of Bihan for Ellison.

It’s one of the highlights of a day of big BETDAQ value, a 108% overround in the orange despite just five runners as I write, and a fabulous 4.8 William of Orange against the odds-on favourite.

VISOR COULD BE SECRET WEAPON

1.45 Lingfield Humbert has a 100% record (3-3) since ‘he’ was gelded but, in the middle leg (!) of the hat-trick, he beat Poet’s Society only a head in receipt of 3lb at Wolverhampton.

Poet’s Society, who then won at Chelmsford before being outclassed by Chevallier here at Lingfield, is now 5lb better off with Humbert, but only 6lb with Chevallier – who was eased down – for at least five-and-a-half lengths.

Sea Fox and Franco’s Secret had earlier been behind Chevallier but ‘Franco’ was second in that Lingfield race and has a 3lb pull for a length.

The visor in which he’s won three races is back on today and he should not be 10.5 (BETDAQ at 8 a.m.)

MOORE BOOKED FOR AN ENCORE

2.55 Lingfield The one stall has won this three times in four seasons and Encore d’Or, who took it last year with that advantage, is in stall 1 again.

Or does that say more about Royal Birth, the winner in 2016 from gate 8. He’s in a lower stall now but has never won another race in 13 attempts.

Yet another past winner, Boom The Groom (the one stall in 2015) starts from a position adjacent to Royal Birth this afternoon. They are in 4 and 5.

Of the trio of previous winners, Encore d’Or returned to form when narrowly beaten in a Listed here on the last day and has Ryan Moore, a previously successful pilot, to do the steering. Looks set for an encore at 4.2 on BETDAQ early mouse.

Artletico has got that bridesmaid seconditis and has been beaten favourite three times for one win out of seven starts since the autumn.

George Dryden had a run of 13 defeats since September 2015 before returning to winning form on the last day. For that reason, you’d lay against his chances of back-to-back success.

HAGGAS HEADWAY TO THE CUP

3.30 Lingfield (Spring Cup) Placed in both Coventry Stakes and Gimcrack, and racing for the William Haggas stable that’s won this race twice in four years, Headway seems to have it all, including stall 3 which has won this three seasons running. I took 2.66.

The step up in trip should also suit Acomb Stakes third Lansky, with trainer Jeremy Noseda (two wins from two starters in the fortnight) booking Ryan Moore for the job.

Super Sprint scorer Bengali Boys may set it up for the front two in the market but Rufus King, already a 7f winner, has been gelded and cannot be ignored.

OCEANS MORE BETDAQ VALUE..

6.45 Chelmsford A class 3 containing what my man in the long grass says is a potential Listed level even Group horse in a handicap.

Ocean of Love has won at class 5 and then class 4, going clear and eased down as he sets up today’s hat-trick.

Snowy Winter failed to make this same leap to class 3 at Southwell in January, and Azam has had to drop back from class-3 level to score here at Chelmsford a fortnight back.

Key Bid may need the run after a long break and Isaac Bell was dwarfed by Ocean Of Love on the lst day.

There seems to be oceans of value in the BETDAQ 2.9 this morning. ‘We’ll be looking at bigger options after this,’ says jockey Hector Crouch.

MONTAGUE READY TO MAKE ALL

7.45 Chelmsford Rock On Baileys’ hat-trick since November has shot the filly 25lb up the handicap.

The 3-3 has come since blinkers were fitted but there’s a doubt about her handling the extra furlong here. Her 2-2 over 6f are defeats!

Bungee Jump had a purple patch at the start of the year but has not been quite so bouncy in two defeats since, and Rockies Spiret has to give weight all round.

Rasta Cap made all over the 6f at Newcastle in November but was a disappointing beaten favouite here at Chelmsford on the last day.

I’ll side with 5.5 BETDAQ morning offer Montague, lone raider for David O’Meara from my favourite northern English town, Helmsley.

Montague could make all from stall one. When failed to do so at Wolverhampton recently, he had to try to stay on for a seventh furlong but was he ‘moral’, beaten two lengths giving a stone to the winner.
