WON 7-1 MINSTREL KNIGHT 11.0 taken on BETDAQ

33.0 OUTSIDER IN THE CESAREWITCH: Today Daqman concentrates on the Cesarewitch with bets from 11.0 to 33.0 but also finds BETDAQ value in the sprint at York. Godolphin look set for the double in the big two-year-old tests.
SERVICE CHARGE IN SPRINT
⭕ 2.40 York (6f class-2 sprint handicap) Smaller fields but the draw in the two sprints at York yesterday followed the pattern we see here in big fields like this handicap.
We’re talking 22 runners but, eight years in the last nine, winners by stall have been 1, 2, 5, 5, 6, 7, 4, 7.
The Great St Wilfrid third, Secret Guest (out of the one stall) seems one of those being underestimated.
Since wind surgery in early Spring, the grey has climbed to class 2 but has been put up only an extra pound.
Lightly-raced Room Service, a big Sales race winner on soft last September, scored again on soft in July. Had a wind op before finishing well in the Ayr Gold Cup on firm.
Germanic won from the front over 7f in June, beating a previous winner 11 lengths, regarded as ‘an exciting prospect’ and readied for this by a yard which loves to win here.
Betdaq Betting Exchange 10 Germanic, 10 Room Service, 21 Secret Guest
DEWHURST FOR GODOLPHIN
⭕ 3.00 Newmarket (Dewhurst Stakes) Aidan O’Brien’s outsider, Merrily (won 25-1), scored under Wayne Lordan over Ryan Moore’s mount in the Oh So Sharp for two-year-old fillies here yesterday.
Then I wrote ‘Oaks’ beside Ballet Slippers on my racecard as she got her second wind when Charlie Appleby’s Desert Flower had gone clear in the Fillies Mile, with Moore beaten off on O’Brien’s January, failing to overturn their one-two in the May Hill Stakes.
Now I’m left rewriting my view on the Dewhurst, with Guineas and Derby favourite, The Lion In Winter, out with ‘a bruised foot.’
I can’t see Seagulls Eleven flying over two for Godolpin and two for Ballydoyle and making a mess of the Classic landscape as Merrily did.
Shadow Of Light is the Group-1 winner and a strict line to form had Ancient Truth narrowly ahead of the Lion.
SUPER-TROOPER PRESCOTT PLOT
⭕ 3.40 Newmarket (Cesarewitch) I filled this space with a piece on Thursday about the complete turn-around in age and weight for winners of the Cesarewitch, largely down to the attack on the race by National Hunt trainers, mainly from Ireland. But first let me try to buck the trend.
As a four-year-old, he doesn’t fit. The trainer’s never won it. And the stable jockey has a full book of rides.. at Chelmsford!
But, in fact, the trainer of Trooper Bisdee (pictured below) is a skilled handicap player in the old tradition of Sam Hall, Walter Nightingall and Ryan Price.
Sir Mark Prescott’s gelding has the hallmarks of a solid stayer. Won six out of nine races, climbing 34lb up the ladder yet scampering clear at the end of that sequence on a particularly arduous stamina track at Pontefract.
He didn’t fancy the surface at Newcastle, though favourite for the Northumberland Plate and, on firm ground for the Cesarewitch Trial, he had a good long look at them in the front rank and was coming on again at the finish.
His stable had seven entries for the Cesarewitch, including Ascot Stakes winner Pledgeofallegiance (would have carried only 8st 13lb) and Warmonger off a mark even lower.
Runner-up in the Cesarewitch trial was Premiere Ligne, in the frame all six races this year. While David Egan can steer home the same stable’s Surrey Belle at York (4.30), in-form trainer Hughie Morrison prefers to claim 5lb, despite Premiere Ligne’s already being advantaged by
From the new seam of trendies, Sea The Sands has that mix of summer class (Group performer on the Flat) and tough winter jumper (won a 2m hurdle just 17 days ago).
Jacovec Cavern is a 116 hurdler who has shown his class in NH Grade-1 and ran second in a Galway Festival handicap on the Flat.
But my preference is for the Joseph O’Brien team. They have booked Tom Marquand for Dawn Rising, a Grade-3 novice hurdler who has aimed at such as Kyprios on the Flat.
He ran third in the 2023 Irish Cesarewitch to stablemate Magellan Strait, who was receiving 15lb. Gets only 6lb today but has improved.
Betdaq Betting Exchange 11.0 Sea Of Sands, 12.5 Dawn Rising, 13 Premier Ligne, 33 Trooper Bisdee
⭐ NAP OF THE DAY Whatever happens at Newmarket with Trooper Bisdee, Sir Mark Prescott has his grey Frankel colt Baraq set up for the hat-trick in the 5.20 Chelmsford. Who rides? Luke Morris, of course.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
