DAQMAN FLAIR LANDS A TREBLE: Daqman landed a hat-trick of winners for a total of 35 points profit yesterday. His three consecutive at Nottingham included his nap, Wakame (WON 7-4), and a 5-1 shot which he’d nomimated at 10.5 on BETDAQ:

WON 5-1 Solar Flair (10.5 BETDAQ)
WON 6-4 Poet’s Beauty
WON 7-4 (nap) Wakame

14-1 BEST IN BIG ODDS WEEK: It’s been a week of big-odds winners for our man, capped by a brave 7-1 nap. His top four, revealing, a huge advantage in betting on BETDAQ, were:

WON 14-1 Queen Catrine
WON 8-1 Majeed (13.0 BETDAQ)
WON 7-1 Birchwood (nap)
WON 5-1 Solar Flair (10.5 BETDAQ)

HUGE BETDAQ VALUE TODAY: Just look at Daqman’s pick for today: they include BETDAQ offers of 10.0, 10.5, 16.0 (twice), 17.5, 19.5, 37.0 and 42.0.. and a nap at 9.0!

HERE’S ONE TO EARN HIS CORN AT 16.0

2.15 Market Rasen (Summer Hurdle) Thirteen four-year-olds (three were placed) have tried and failed to win this race in the decade but they launch their strongest attack today with five, four of them winners on the last day.

Peter Bowen (Curious Carlos), Dr Richard Newland (Hassle) and Nigel Twiston-Davies (Robinshill) have all won this race.

Newland is your man in form, with three winners from his last four runners. And Hassle comes out well clear of Red Tornado on collateral form. But Hassle is still a novice at the age of seven!

Cornborough comes out a million miles in front of Iftiraaq (on a line through Don Padeja) so appears to be ahead of the handicapper.

Form pick may be Swinton Hurdle winner Gwafa and the filly Rejaah, bred to win the Derby. Her eight-lengths stroll over CD last month has been boosted by success for both second and third.

VERDICT: Short list: Cornborough, Gwafa, Hassle, Moabit, Rejaah. Offers on BETDAQ of 16.0 Cornborough and 17.5 Rejaah are well over the top.

2.45 Market Rasen (Summer Plate) Rasen requires a combination of guts and speed. You really have to travel well and, just when you think it’s all over, comes a deceptive so-arduous run-in.

Such qualities have yet to be found in anything below 10st 8lb in past results for this handicap, and most of them down the bottom today don’t have scope for improvement, with the exception of the five-year-old Monsieur Gibraltar.

But here we go again, with Paul Nicholls pushing a novice in at the deep end. So, too, Philips Hobbs with Golden Doyen. Monsieur Gibraltar and Golden Doyen have both been second over CD in novice events.

Dr Newland’s Cut The Corxner wouldn’t be in the race at all if he hadn’t scored over CD a fortnight back and earned an 11lb hike in the weights. Vlco De Touzaine was third in this race last year. Cernunnos has Barry Geraghty off a light weight.

Form picks are probably Sir Valentino, who won a class-2 here over two furlongs shorter in May; and Long House Hall, winner and a Graded third at the Cheltenham Festival over hurdles.

VERDICT: Long House Hall and Theinval are locked together around 144-143 over hurdles, with Theinval jumping fences well on the last day and a few points the better off at 10.0 best on BETDAQ early mouse. Cernunnos (7.4) is the one among the lightweights laid out for the race.

MARK BATHOS A TRADE HORSE AT 16.0..

3.15 Newmarket Bathos is a hidden horse after running over further at the Epsom Derby and July meetings. Now brought back to a mile, he’s won on both courses at Newmarket.

Offers of 16.0 on BETDAQ should give you a great trade opportunity , as this Mark Johnston beast could well play catch-me off a three-year-old’s weight; he has already shown courage in an attritional finish.

A sprinter thus far, Johnston’s ‘second string’ (is it?) Riflescope is 13.5 to step up to a trip he’s bred for.

3.35 Newbury Four-year-olds (4-7) hold sway but they don’t want the ground to dry out too much for The Tin Man, fourth to Muhaarar in the champion sprint at Ascot last backend.

The Middle Park winner of 2014, Charming Thought wasn’t punished first run back in a Listed in June and seemingly with his problems behind him, could come right back to form and win this. I say ‘could;’ it always has to be seen to be believed second run after a long lay-off.

If it stays on the firm side, such ground should prompt big runs from Illuminate and Buratino, both Group-1 runners-up last backend

With the doubts about The Tin Man and Charming Thought, I prefer the morning 10.5 Illuminate and 13.0 Buratino for two against the field on BETDAQ.

4.10 Newbury (Super Sprint) The stats tells us to strike out maidens and all those drawn higher than 15. I think one of the fillies could take it.

Clem Fandango has mixed it with the best so far but is only a saver at 5.5. as I write. I shall take Lady In Question (12.5) – presumably Paul Hanagan had the pick of the Fahey septet – and Hope Solo at 16.5 for a stable that’s won it three times.

ARCHITECTURE TO BUILD ON EPSOM NOW

5.10 The Curragh (Scurry Stakes) The two three-year-olds in this last year finished first and last! The winner had the best draw.

I expect to see them flying up the stands’ rails again, though the pace seems to have a middle spread from stalls 6, 8 and 11.

This year’s sole three-year-old is a late developer, Peticoatgovernment, an apt choice for the political times we live in.

Which male among us has a has a cat-in-hell’s chance, once Clinton, May and Merkel are sitting round a table. A pint of plain is your only man!

Petitcoatgovernment is the flagship for her stable, which is otherwise out of form. But 19.5 offers on BETDAQ help!

Last year’s runner-up, Your Pal Tal, is rated 10lb lower today and has the services of English champion jockey, Silvestre De Sousa, but may need a sound surface, so 42.0.

Same, too, Shepherds Purse (37.0), though has dropped 11lb in the last year, and is a CD winner with a touch of class who gets 7f, so could be a strong finisher up the stands’ rail.

5.45 The Curragh (Irish Oaks, preview in Thursday’s column) The amount of rain that falls on The Curragh will help decide the outcome of the Irish Oaks after modest times for the Epsom version (slow by 8secs) and the Ribblesdale (slow by 11secs).

VERDICT: Architecture, second to Minding at Epsom, didn’t run her race, brought out quickly for the Ribblesdale, in which Even Song beat the maiden Ajman Princess, bridesmaid in four consecutive starts.

Architecture was supplemented for this and offers on BETDAQ of 9.0 have the filly better odds for the place than Even Song for the win! Those place odds may well be the professional bet of the race, and I make that the nap. For my purposes, they will cover my win bet.
