NAP AND SUPERNAP: Daqman had 2.46 on BETDAQ about City of Delight (WON 1-2) at Newmarket last night. Today he bets in every race at Ascot with a nap there doubled and trebled with two Aidan O’Brien favourites at Newmarket and the Curragh, which is his supernap.

🎲 ROLL THE DICE 12.0: Daqman fancies a horse called Talis Evolvere (4.30 Ascot) – meaning Roll The Dice – as his best outsider on the Shergar Cup card at 12.0 on BETDAQ.

BEWARE THE ASCOT FAVOURITES

🎲 ROLL THE DICE: Only seven outright favourites have won in the 60 Shergar Cup races since 2013, with the very first race best for favourite backers, but it was quickly back to a 9-1 winner in that one last year, when joint favourites were second and third.

Forget the fear that visiting jockeys don’t know the track: they have won more than half the races, 31 out of 60, including on three of the winning SP favourites.

Only Hayley Turner of the top jockeys rides again today; the ’girls’ who took last year’s meeting by storm, Hollie Doyle and Saffie Osborne, are at Newmarket and Haydock respectively.

⭕ 1.35 Ascot Three outright favourites/two joint. Visiting riders 6 wins.
⭕ 2.10 Ascot ONE outright favourite won/one joint. Visiting riders 4.
⭕ 2.45 Ascot NO outright favourites won. Visiting riders 6.
⭕ 3.20 Ascot ONE outright favourite won/one joint. Visiting riders 4.
⭕ 3.55 Ascot ONE outright favourite won/one joint. Visiting riders 6.
⭕ 4.30 Ascot ONE outright favourite won/two joint. Visiting riders 5.

TRAINERS (with runners): Andrew Balding 6, William Haggas 4, Team Johnston 2, Jessica Harrington 2

⭕ 1.35 (5f sprint): Lucky stall is 7 (four wins in eight years), occupied by Jordan Electrics, five times a winner at Hamilton in the last eight weeks but has Badri well handicapped against him here.

Three-year-olds are going for a hat-trick via Kylian (stall 1) and ADAAY IN DEVON (2), placed at Group level this year, including here at Ascot, and winner of the Listed Scurry at Sandown.

Desert Cop (Balding) is a 6f winner but has a visor on to try and sharpen him up for this 5f.

⭕ 2.10 (stayers): FOX JOURNEY could bounce back today. Trainer Sir Michael Stoute is firing with 5-10 and champion South African apprentice Rachel Venniker could be another livener for the son of Roaring Lion.

⭕ 2.45 (middle distance): To be Truthful, trainer (Andrew Balding) and jockey (Hayley Turner) both do well in this series but it would be INSANITY to ignore a cracking prep run at Ascot recently for Alan King’s four-year-old.

⭕ 3.20 (6f sprint): JARRAAF (Ascot nap) was tipped for top sprint honours after scoring over this CD at Ascot a month back.

⭕ 3.55 (Classic) Zero winners of this 1m 4f handicap drawn under 5; six out of 10 from gates 7 to 9. It may be wise to consider Solomon but but MINA RASHID catches the eye in the form book, having spent time in Group 1 and 2 after taking a maiden at Chester.

⭕ 4.30 (Mile) Nine out of 10 have gone to horses aged 4 and 5. TALIS EVOLVERE (meaning Roll The Dice) is back to form after the dip in Richard Hannon’s fortune. Won the AW Championship and the Bunbury Mile at Newbury.

🎲 ROLL THE DICE: DAQMAN bets 2pts win on every horse named in capital letters. Morning offers taken on Betdaq Betting Exchange were 6.4 Adaay In Devon, 11.0 Fox Journey, 6.3 Insanity, 13.0 Mina Rashid, 12.0 Talis Evolvere. But 2.62 JARRAAF is a 10pt nap

WHISTLEJACKET THE SUPERNAP

⭕ 2.25 Haydock: Three-year-olds have won four in a row, Wiliam Haggas going for back-to-back strikes with an attractive opening mark for Kilt. BETDAQ 3.1

It’s not easy today, as exemplified in the Rose Of Lancaster (3.00): you must choose from one brought back after injury, odds-on Anmaat, with his opponents largely preferring cut in the ground.

⭕ 3.40 Newmarket July (Sweet Solera Stakes): Karl Burke took this 12 months ago with his subsequent Irish 1,000 Guineas winner, Fallen Angel, but his hope today, Liberalised, has work to do, 10lb or so below Lake Victoria and Mountain Breeze on my reckoning.

Aidan O’Brien has already encountered Mountain Breeze twice with Heavens Gate – the verdict going one way then the other – and the Frankel filly Lake Victoria could be even higher in the pecking order at Ballydoyle. BETDAQ 3.1

⭕ 4.35 Curragh (Phoenix Stakes) Ryan Moore stays ‘at home’ for six rides, including Whistlejacket (pictured below), the chosen one for the attempt at 18 wins in this race for O’Brien.

Whistlejacket won a Group 2 on the July Course at Newmarket, the third colt home subsequently taking the Group-2 Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. Watering of the track will be to his benefit.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
