STATUS? OR 33.0 NOBODY

⭕ 2.57 Newbury (Hackwood Sprint) This has been won three years out of seven by a three-year-old.

The only second-season animal left today is Ain’t Nobody, who has yet to recapture his Windsor Castle form as a two-year-old but was far too big at 33.0 on BETDAQ this morning.

Ain’t Nobody is dropped into Group 3 from an unlucky-in-running five-lengths defeat in the Group-1 Commonwealth Cup, having finished a close third at today’s level in the trial for that race.

He has the same rating as the 2021 three-year-old winner but 8lb behind last year’s, Elite Status, who tries to back up that success this afternoon.

Karl Burke’s four-year-old has form of 111 when at Group 3 and Listed level but has always struggled in Group 1.

Though he is entered in the City of York and the Haydock Sprint at the highest level, cheekpieces first time here suggest that today’s the day. BETDAQ 5.2 taken.

Regional has a 5lb turn-around for less than two lengths on last year’s fourth (Kind Of Blue 3rd at levels; Diligent Harry 7th) but likes to lead and is not getting any younger.

BELLE IN LUCKY STALL 13

⭕ 3.30 Newbury (Super Sprint) STATS: winners by stall (10 years): 15, 13, 13, 19, 25, 16, 15, 21, 18, 10.

Richard Hannon, who has won it three times in seven years, won’t be happy with low stalls 3, 8 and 10 for his trio.

His old rival, Richard Fahey, who has scored in the decade at 12-1 and 28-1, has just one play, Cotai Belle, out of 13. Her sire, Cotai Glory, made huge progress at this time of year.

Certainly the middle looks best with so strong in stall 9 the Windsor Castle winner, Havana Hurricane, his form boosted by Wise Approach yesterday, and his weight a second bonus from his 9,000gn purchase price.

He is rated 100 yet has 8st 13lb, same as Kamakameleon (91) and Ardisia (82), drawn 11 and 14 respectively.

Ali Shuffle (93 but 8st 11lb) is coming out of gate 12 and Anthelia (94 but 8st 8lb) from 16.

Betdaq Betting Exchange Betdaq Betting Exchange 2.78 Havana Hurricane, 21.0 Ali Shuffle, 24.0 Cotai Belle (31.0 early)

MINNIE RATES MAXIMUM

⭕ 3.40 Curragh (Irish Oaks) Aidan O’Brien goes for a hat-trick of odds-on winners in this Classic, after Savethelastdance (won 10-11 in 2023) and Snowfall (won 2-7 in 2021).

But Content was only second at 3-1 last year and he had three of the seven runners in 2022 all beaten.

His Frankel filly Minnie Hauk beat nothing in the Cheshire Oaks, the runner-up Secret Of Love flopping twice since.

But Minnie’s Epsom Oaks victim, Whirl, won the Pretty Polly here at the Curragh from the Tattersalls Gold Cup third, Kalpana.

As in the Oaks, Wemightakedlongway failed to make much impression, fourth. Rain would bring her stamina into play.

HENDERSON’S SUMMER FIRE

⭕ 2.40 Market Rasen (Summer Hurdle) Last year’s one-two, Castel Gandolfo and Kihavah, are back again, with the winner better off at the weights, yet 16.0 offered, despite a recent successful warm-up on this course.

Four wins in a row but Sir Galahad was driven hard to make it happen the last day and is up in the weights again

Paul Nicholls is looking for a change of attitude from Brave Knight. After the yard’s usual tweek-and-tweek-again wind-ops, he has prepped well on the Flat.

He would welcome the rain. So, too, Cavern Club (9.1) but hard to tell how much the surface will be affected; he’s one of four for James Owen, which also muddies the race from a betting point of view.

Nicky Henderson’s Goblet Of Fire is not ground dependent and the six-time Flat winner was third in the quality Swinton Hurdle in May. BETDAQ 8.5.

HANK COBDEN HAT-TRICK

⭕ 3.12 Market Rasen (Summer Plate) Gavin Cromwell sends over Ballysax Hank after a warm-up at Bellewstown without the hood.

Hood back on today and Harry Cobden hired for the job of snatching this £60k prize from under the noses of Nicky Henderson, Dan Skelton and Co.

Cobden is literally chasing a hat-trick, having won this race two years running. BETDAQ 4.5 was tempting.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
