TWO OUT OF THREE GAMBLED-ON NAPS: Daqman landed his nap for the second time in three days yesterday, both big value on BETDAQ. In fact, Wednesday and Friday selections finished in profit on BETDAQ offers taken before big gambles on the two naps.
WON 4-9 VAUCELET (Friday nap, 2.52 on BETDAQ)
WON 8-11 INVER PARK (Wednesday supernap, 1.91 on BETDAQ)
DAQMAN 225 POINTS UP ON PRICEWISE: Daqman delves into the Haydock form today, finds a ‘darlectable’ outsider and a strong nap. He leads Pricewise 25-14 with a level-stakes profit of 225.40.

DRAGON DROP TO EASY COMPANY
⭕ 1.45 Haydock (Achilles Stakes) Tenaya Canyon was the overnight punt, maybe just Pricewise lemmings. She has to improve markedly to win.
Her second in a Listed at Newmarket the last day is encouraging but the race was 6f fillies and mares only; today is an open race of 5f, and officially she has improved just 4lb for her last five runs.
Dragon Symbol has dropped 4lb over his last six in which he missed strike (form of 222234) after a four-timer and a Group-race second (6f, heavy, Haydock) a year ago.
But the revised rating is rather meaningless, because he was running at Group 1 and 2 level and was placed in the Commonwealth Cup, July Stakes and Nunthorpe.
He moved to Roger Varian before his first run back and dropping him to a Listed today is the obvious move to restore his confidence, and check his credentials for the big sprints at Royal Ascot.
Clarendon House’s efforts this season have lifted his rating and damaged his handicap chances so, again, this Listed is an obvious move. Raasel, who beat him at Goodwood, has himself been beaten in a handicap since.
BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE 3.3 Dragon Symbol
MAHRAJAAN’S MAGIC ON BETDAQ
⭕ 2.20 Haydock (1m 4f handicap) Will the ground have dried sufficiently for Mahrajaan to give his running? BETDAQ 3.95 is magic if it has.
His winning form – a July/August hat-trick – was on good and firmer. But his trainer, William Haggas, is in blinding form.
Contact was getting 12lb from the runner-up when scoring at Newmarket (Scarlet Dragon and State Of Bliss behind), and Forza Orta was getting 11lb from the winner and 13lb from the third when he split them at York 17 days back.
DARLECTABLE OFFERS FOR YOU
⭕ 2.55 Haydock (Pinnacle Stakes) Sea La Rosa looks like another Haggas favourite, stepping back into the pattern at Group 3. Only third in the Princess Royal Stakes, which is also Group 3, but clearly of that level after an impressive Listed win at Lingfield in October, when Viola was third.
Jessica Harrington has five runners at Navan but she needs an improved effort here from Climate if the filly is to run in the Curragh Pretty Polly (1m 2f) in late June.
Horses who have won only their maiden are suspect and this is a step up to new territory of 1m 4f, whereas the Pretty Polly is 10 furlongs.
Noon Star was a Listed winner in April but she disappointed, fifth of six in the Middleton at York. This is her second try at 12f after being down the field in the Ribblesdale last June.
Much depends on whether she settles, and it’s no surprise that she also has the 10-furlong Pretty Polly as her target.
Lady Hayes was runner-up in the Lancashire Oaks here on the soft but – second in a Listed on her return – her form since has not matched up to it and she is dropped 3lb in the ratings.
Nell Quickly is interesting, her yard having won this in 2015. The filly’s hat-trick in the second half of last season saw her rating hiked 17lb.
It’s not beyond the bounds of possibility that Darlectable You can live up to her breeding, sister to that famous female group, Too Darn Hot, So Mi Dar and Lah Ti Dar.
You have to bet that she will improve up to 22lb from class 4 but, with so many nearer the front of the market testing a new trip, or using it to sharpen up for Ascot, the Darlectable one can’t be darscounted!
BETDAQ value 4.2 Sea La Rosa, 12 Darlectable You
HE HAS THE SPIRIT AND STAMINA
⭕ 3.15 Beverley (Two-Year-Old Trophy) Whistle And Flute ran second at Ascot to Bakeel, who has engagements at the royal meeting.
What makes today’s race difficult is that Bakeel is from the same stable (Andrew Balding’s) as Chateau, who takes on Whistle And Flute here. Chateau didn’t get a clear run on debut and will undoubtedly improve.
What makes it hard to take a short price about the favourite is that Rogue Spirit could also be ‘anything’ in the ranks of future sprinters.
I look for those who are bred for stamina but have the speed to win over shorter instances. Rogue Spirit, who fits that bill, beat a future winner over today’s CD at Beverley, and Beverley is the very tough track where underlying stamina is needed.
BETDAQ value 8.3 Rogue Spirit
SUNRAY’S STILL MAJOR LEAGUE
⭕ 3.30 Haydock (John O’Gaunt Stakes) Seven of the last nine winners were drawn 2 or 3, and Laneqash (now gelded), who comes out of 2, was beaten just a length in the Hungerford here over 7f after a long break.
Laneqash was only three when a couple of lengths off Pogo when that one was one of two older horses to battle it out over a mile at Newmarket in September. He can improve on that.
Kinross won this last year with a rear run from stall 7. He’s scored three times when fresh and is top rated today on official figures.
Sunray Major drops two grades after his Group-1 sixth of seven in the Lockinge behind the one they’re calling the modern Frankel, Baaeed. He just gets the vote at 5.2 offers this morning.
