DAQMAN: THREE NAPS OUT OF FOUR: It’s a grand week for Daqman’s naps! Yesterday’s gamble on even-money Grand Providence proved spot on; it was his third winning best bet in four days.
WON 8-13 GRAND PROVIDENCE (Friday; evens taken on BETDAQ)
WON 9-4 MONOPOLISE (Thursday)
WON 11-8 LUCKY FIFTEEN (Tuesday)
WORLDWIDE TREBLE OF BIG RACES: Daqman has taken a world view of Saturday’s racing with previews in the week of a huge treble of big-money events in England, France and America, but reckons the ‘Eclipse Leads The Magic Million.’ There’s a bull’s-eye bet at Sandown, a nap at Haydock and three Fortune Cookies.
ECLIPSE LEADS MAGIC MILLION
BIG races in France and America today are overshadowed at home by the Eclipse at Sandown Park, making up a huge treble for almost £1million in winner’s prizemoney.
⭕ 3.40 Eclipse Stakes Sandown Park; winner £425k. EMILY UPJOHN earnings so far £740k; John and Thady Gosden, William Buick. PADDINGTON earnings so far £650k; Aidan O’Brien, Ryan Moore.
⭕ 3.55 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud winner £202k. WESTOVER earnings so far £1.8m; Ralph Beckett, Rob Hornby.
⭕ 10.49 Belmont Derby winner £344k. THE FOXES earnings so far £255k; Andrew Balding, Oisin Murphy. SILVER KNOTT £235k; Charlie Appleby, Richard Mullen.

EQUALITY IS STILL ON THE UP
⭕ 1.50 Sandown (Sprint) LAYS LOGIC: You would expect the Kings Stand third to be red-hot favourite here but Annaf, badly drawn in 11, is five times an AW winner, but 0-8 on turf and has flattered before only to deceive.
FORM VERDICT: The Clive Cox filly Get Ahead is on the upgrade but comes out of gate 9. He had half a length to spare over Marshman at Chantilly but that one comes out of stall 3, which could swing things his way.
Well drawn are Equality (4) and Tiber Flow (2), both winners the last day; Tiber Flow is dropped in trip and asked to go in again seven days after reverting to AW to get on the board.
Equality has always been well liked by Charles Hills, who asked him to do too much too soon in the early days but he’s taken off in the last year or so; up 20lb.
Betdaq Betting Exchange 7.5 Equality
PLEDGE IS GIVEN IDEAL DRAW
⭕ 2.05 Haydock (1m6f handicap) William Haggas has won this twice in three seasons; his three-year-old Lordship is drawn 13. It’s hard to write him off, the stylish way he’s been winning, but he’s taking a rise of three grades and will have to use his speed to position for the early left–hand bend.
Rogue Sea is another low-level who is coming in on the tide but, again, the high stall (10) is a handicap.
Struth was being given the hurry-up at Royal Ascot but was not able to get with the pace, and Joe Fanning switches to Charlie Johnston stablemate Midnight Lion, despite his stall 12.
Once a Mark Prescott animal starts a sequence, you never know where it will end and Pledgeofallegiance has an ideal position out of gate 6.
BETDAQ value 5.8 Pledgeofallegiance
WILL THIS HOODWINK PEROTTO?
⭕ 2.25 Sandown (1m handicap) I’m bound to give Perotto – my Royal Hunt Cup ‘hidden horse’ – a last-chance saloon.
Perotto means rock but he is hardly that, with only one behind him in two places in 12 starts over nearly two years! He has the ability; let’s hope the hood kids him into producing his best.
He’s in the winningmost stall, and the last three winners of this were all beaten in the Hunt Cup. If that happens again today, it would likely be Ouzo, Positive.. or Perotto.
All are low drawn, with Ouzo 8.2, Perotto 8.6 and Positive 11.0 on BETDAQ this morning.
⭕ 3.00 Sandown Cell Sa Beela was drawn on the wrong side in the Sandringham Stakes, also at Royal Ascot; used to be a Group-2 performer, and a big price this morning in this grade at 13.5
After running in the Group-1 Saint-Alary, Bridestones (4.8 offers) didn’t perform in the same Ascot race; the firm ground was against her.
Stenton Glider is rated way above these after running second in the Fred Darling, with Magical Sunset, Bridestones, Crystallium and Lady Alara behind.
MIMIKYU ON RATING AND GOING
⭕ 2.40 Haydock (Lancashire Oaks) Team Gosden has won this four times in nine seasons, and has the likely favourite today in the winner of the Park Hill Stakes, Mimikyu.
Already a CD winner at Haydock, her biggest obstacle is a high draw (9).
with better positions for Sea Silk Road, also a CD winner in a Grade-3 a month back, and Aristia.
Last season Aristia (Sean Levey), top-rated here off 111, was runner-up to Nashwa in the Nassau Stakes and won the Jean Romanet at Deauville; both on a sound surface, but both were over 1m 2f.
She’s five now and every single winner of this race in the decade was aged four, including future Arc winner Alpinista, who won this off 113 in 2021.
Rain boosts Mimikyu and Sea Silk Road, who holds Time Lock three lengths on Group-3 form here last month, and Mimikyu beat Time Lock here a year ago on soft, despite giving away 6lb.
Confirmation comes from the handicapper who now has them 8lb apart, seemingly handing the Lancashire Oaks to Mimikyu. BETDAQ 2.8.
PADDINGTON BEARS SCRUTINY
⭕ 3.40 Sandown (Eclipse Stakes) Will Irish 2,000 Guineas winner, Paddington, stay the 1m 2f? Ryan Moore has no doubt, declaring his intention to take the small field along from the start.
Paddington gets 10lb from all bar Emily Upjohn (7lb) and is well placed on pedigree to improve again at the trip and, off 123, rated higher than recent three-year-old Eclipse winners, barring Golden Horn (126), who was trained by John Gosden.
Gosden won it with the mare Enable (2019) who was 5lb ahead of his filly today, Emily Upjohn, British Champion (Fillies and Mares) who beat Derby third Westover in the Coronation Cup. No form on deeper than good to soft.
