ANOTHER WINNING NAP IN BETDAQ-VALUE THREE OUT OF FOUR: Daqman’s winner a day this week had included a Fortune Cookie and a nap but he stepped up the pace yesterday with another best bet up among three winners out of four.. Easy As That! Feature all week has been BETDAQ value. His four bets in race order yesterday:

✔️ WON 8-13 ROUYAUME UNI (nap) from 2.06 on BETDAQ
(2nd 5-1 BIG PENNY beaten a head)
✔️ WON 4-1 QUICK WAVE from 6.8 taken on BETDAQ
✔️ WON 85-40 EASY AS THAT

DAQMAN GOES TO THE DUBLIN FESTIVAL LEADING PRICEWISE 22-12: On day one of the weekend’s Dublin Racing Festival, Daqman leads Pricewise of the Racing Post on winners 22-12 and is 252.67 ahead of his rival on all selections to level stakes. Headlines:

🔹 PUNTING A 16.0 OR 17.5 FESTIVAL HIT
🔹 PONT AVEN CAN SHOW THE EXTRA ZIP
🔹 HONEYSUCKLE THE IRISH CHAMPION
🔹 13.5 ‘GABY’ IS GETTING THE KNACK

PUNTING A 16.0 OR 17.5 FESTIVAL HIT

⭕ 1.05 Leopardstown (Grade 1 novice hurdle) Willie Mullins, who won it six times in a row (2012-17) has a hot favourite, Gaillard Du Mesnil, hooded first time and a maiden winner last month after four times second. Gotta be opposed, hasn’t he?

They’re both looking a bit exposed now, but I’d like to see success for Fakiera, as a pointer to my bet in the Ladbrokes Hurdle later on, or Vanillier an improver I thought worth FORTUNE COOKIE status. I hope he is at 17.5 in BETDAQ orange this morning! Fakiera was a 16.0 punt.

⭕ 1.35 Leopardstown (Ladbrokes Dublin Chase) The last two winners of this, Chacun Pour Soi and Min, meet again in this 2m-plus spectacular.,

Last year, Chacun Pour Soi stopped a hat-trick in the race by Min, who didn’t get the breaks in the race, and both were less than fluent at the final fence.

Chacun Pour Soi won the Hilly Way, then easily beat Notebook here at Leopardstown over half a furlong shorter and on yielding ground at Christmas.

Min won the Ryanair at Cheltenham (soft) and then the Punchestown Gold Cup (heavy), so she is the stayer, with six wins over 2m 4f plus.

At 5.4 Min on the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE she is the value against long-odds-on Chacun Pour Soi.

PONT AVEN CAN SHOW THE EXTRA ZIP

⭕ 2.10 Leopardstown (Irish Arkle) Favourites are five out of six, and Energumene, a natural jumper, has won five out of six: Point, bumper, hurdle, chases.

Franco de Port beat Darver Star and FORTUNE COOKIE Felix Desjy in the Racing Post here on Boxing Day when Felix was favourite but blew his race by running away from them early.

Franco at 7.5 on BETDAQ and Felix at 13.5 have better chances than their offers against the odds-on Energumene. It’s a novice chase!

⭕ 2.20 Sandown (Cotswold Chase) The meeting looks distinctly hairy on heavy ground with rain forecast.

The feature could become a marathon in the mud, with none better equipped for that than Yala Enki, the Coral Welsh Grand National third. BETDAQ 6.5.

Bristol de Mai doesn’t win outside Haydock and Native River is a Newbury horse.

It looks more a veterans’ chase, barring Lake View Lad and Santini, first and second at Aintree in December. But the fancied horses all have to give 6lb to Yala Enki, who could make his mark here.

⭕ 2.45 Leopardstown The strangest of handicaps with 10st 13lb top weight, unless you include 90.0 offer Goulane Chosen. I know I’m opposing the favourites today but he is surely not the chosen one!

Half a dozen at the front of the market are separated by only 6lb. I’ll leave it to FORTUNE COOKIE Pont Aven, 8.9 as I write, big-field placed here on Boxing Day and again at Fairyhouse; strong galloper and stayer but hooded for the extra zip he needs.

Watch Pont Aven with Danny Mullins doing the steering at Leopardstown and Burt Lancaster in charge on The Train!

HONEYSUCKLE THE IRISH CHAMPION

⭕ 3.15 Leopardstown (Irish Champion Hurdle) STATS and FORM GUIDE in RATINGS order in Daqman yesterday (see Archive).

There are three gaps between Honeysuckle and Sharjah: a year’s age difference in Honeysuckle’s favour, the 7lb mare’s allowance, which is very much in her favour and her winning ability over 2m 4f (four times), stamina which may be needed in the conditions.

Sharjah won his favourite race, a prep for this title over today’s CD, for the third year running in December but, take those away, and you have left on the CV only a four-runner Morgiana in 2018, since his handicapping days.

Honeysuckle’s favourite race is every race. She looks just the type to give us a special winner of the Cheltenham championship, and fourth and fifth differences are that she looks tidier over her hurdles than Sharjah at the business end of her races and she only does just enough. One mistake could be the vital error for the big horse.

The only question mark over the field is how good the rarely-seen Saldier? Officially, he’s third in here, and it could work out that way:

ORDER IN: 1 Honeysuckle, 2 Sharjah, 3 Saldier. The 2.4 BETDAQ about Honeysuckle this morning could look big value after the event .

13.5 ‘GABY’ IS GETTING THE KNACK

⭕ 3.50 Leopardstown (Ladbrokes Hurdle) Favourites are 0-10 but punters hunting close behind the market leader (6-1 to 12-1 at SP) have scored 7-10, with nine winners out of 10 carrying 10st 10lb or less.

Charlie Byrnes, who has won the last three of these, runs Advanced Virgo but he may have left the race behind by scoring at Fairyhouse in November (Drop The Anchor third).

It cost him a 10lb rise and only one of the next three to finish has raced since, and that one was beaten more than 20 lengths on the last day. However, Ciel De Neige, fifth, later won his maiden in a canter.

Willie Mullins has seven left in – one a reserve – with his best chance, according to the stats, Tiger Tap Tap. He was given a lot to do over this course and distance when sixth of 20 at the Christmas meeting.

Three lengths in front of him, third, was The Moyglass Flyer, who had won it the year before. One of six in the J P McManus colours today, he was the plunge horse in the week.

Though aged seven, The Moyglass Flyer has run only four times and been given around a year’s break twice in that short career.

Another one well backed for this, He’s A Hardy Bloke, is consistent but has largely beaten nothing well, and you’d think the rise in the weights is waiting to catch him out.

Paul Townend is on Buildmeupbuttercup, who won three Listed mares’ hurdles out of four races at the back end of last year. Earlier fourth in the County Hurdle and fifth in the Galway Hurdle.

But, when favourite in this Ladbrokes Hurdle last February, she was beaten three lengths, fifth, off 132. Today she has to carry 145, and you must decide whether you think she’s more than a stone better mare (her new mark and something more).

When Gabynako was beaten a nose at Fairyhouse in November (40 lengths to the third!) he was taking on a subsequent Graded winner.

He himself has gone for Graded novice prizes over further since and, dropped down in class and back to the minimum today, looks very likely to take a hand in the finish.

ORDER IN: I have two of these marked down as improvers: Ciel De Neige and Gabynako, and reckon Willie Mullins has been saving up Tiger Tap Tap for this. The value has gone about The Moyglass Flyer, but he could be a stakes saver.

1 Gabynako 13.5 BETDAQ, 2 Ciel De Neige 11.5, 3 The Moyglass Flyer, 4 Tiger Tap Tap (25.0).
