11-2 BON VOYAGE AFTER VALUE 6-1: Daqman named two winners a day for the second day running at the AW Good Friday festival across the cards at Lingfield and Newcastle, and his stable form-guide had three winners, one at 9-1. He now leads Pricewise 3-2 for value winners in corresponding races.

NOW FOR A 6.2 BEST BET ON BETDAQ: Daqman follows Oisin Murphy today after the hat-trick he nailed yesterday. In the Haydock finals and Musselburgh Scottish trophies, he finds bets at 7.0, 7.6, 8.0 and 9.4 and a nap at 6.2

LION IN WAIT FOR DUMFRIES

⭕ 1.50 Musselburgh (Royal Mile) Southwell maiden winner Dumfries has been handed a snip of a handicap mark but Oisin Murphy is back like a lion.

He landed a hat-trick at Newcastle yesterday, and stays on in the North for three rides at Musselburgh.

Lion Of War won his maiden and his novice so easily last summer that Charlie Johnson got well carried away and sent him for a Group 2 at the July Meeting; he wasn’t as Superlative as had been hoped. At that stage, too green in Pattern company.

As a dual winner when fresh to start last season, he should be ready to roar back at the start of this one.

Manitou has a similar profile; two wins in low grades, then hiked to Listed level for a raid on Chantilly, favourite for all three starts, so clearly also held in high regard and a key player for this term.

Another dual winner, Metahorse, may improve for being gelded, with the Michael Bell stable in fine form.

BETDAQ value 4.4 each Dumfries and Lion Of War

GWEEDORE CAN WIN AGAIN

⭕ 2.25 Musselburgh (Silver Arrow) Low stalls dominate; gates 3 and 4 have won four out of five.

Gweedore (out of gate 5 today) won it last year out of the three stall and, though a few pounds higher, is allowed 5lb for Billy Loughnane’s claim.

The Gatekeeper (6) is back to his winning trip and Spirit Of Light (4) has been running in good company at Meydan.

Though Autumn Festival had only to be pushed out to beat Abduction on today’s type of ground last backend, part of five in a row, he is better off at the weights. Can Danny Tudhope overcome stall 11?

Betdaq Betting Exchange 8 Gweedore

THE NOT-SO-DARK HORSE..

⭕ 3.00 Musselburgh (Scottish Sprint Cup) Oisin Murphy again and Come From The Dark is down 11lb on his last winning form in a Group 3 at Sandown.

Trainer Ed Walker has been out of kilter but Came From The Dark clearly doesn’t need much getting ready; he’s won twice before when fresh from a break and this is his for the taking.

Zarzyni is 2lb lower than when scoring in this last year, with Makanah – now 6lb worse off – almost two lengths behind.

But, when Zarzyni was runner-up in 2021, he had Come From The Dark a short–head behind, third, giving 9lb. They now meet at levels.

BETDAQ value 6.2 Came From The Dark

CUP TOTS UP TO SPIRIT

⭕ 3.35 Musselburgh (Queens Cup) The £51k to the winner has a leading Flat stable (Andrew Balding’s) toe to toe with the star Jumps yard of trainer, Paul Nicholls, whose Pleasant Man is best known over hurdles.

I prefer Balding’s Spirit Mixer, narrowly beaten in the Northumberland Plate by Trueshan.

Down the handicap despite his November Handicap third and dramatic Chester strike over the Cup distance is Emiyn, who has won twice before after a break.

BETDAQ value 5 Spirit Mixer, 9.4 Emiyn

7.6 BETDAQ EASTER PRESENT

⭕ 2.40 Haydock (Staying Chase Series Final) LAYS LOGIC The favourite has never won this, and the market leader this morning, Jeffery’s Cross, has made ‘getting beat’ a habit (this season’s form 2222 in lower class).

Feivel could be boosted by first-time cheekpieces, as could Frenchy Du Large, and Enqarde may benefit from another wind op, which preceded a quiet run back in February.

Enqarde (BETDAQ 7.0) was runner-up in this race last year, beaten six lengths and more. He is 10lb lower now but his wind wasn’t blamed for that defeat.

The jockey complained of his jumping left, and he did the same thing at Carlisle the last day.

Small Present (BETDAQ 7.6) has now been dropped 11lb since this time last year, running his best race when staying on third in the Lincolnshire National in December.

He ran well enough in the Haydock Grand National Trial and is twice a winner on the course over hurdles (3m).

GOING IS SO RIGHT FOR JONJO

⭕ 3.15 Haydock (Stayers Hurdle Series Final) Jonjo O’Neill farms this race (winner three times in five seasons) and has a deserved 5.0 BETDAQ favourite this morning.

Itso Fury has been primed for it – never out of the first three and third in his qualifier at Ascot, sole run back this year – and the ground has come right for him.
