DAQMAN BIDS FOR GOLD TODAY: Fortune De Mer (WON 16-5) opened the scoring in the very first Daqman betting race of the Cheltenham weekend yesterday but then L’Homme Presse (2nd 5-1) and For Gina (2nd 7-2, beaten a neck) spent the winnings. He has two bull’s-eye bets on December Gold Cup afternoon plus a Star bet at Newcastle.
IT’S ANOTHER GREY SATURDAY
⭕ 1.15 Cheltenham: Five years out of eight, progressive mares with big weights have won this and Greyval has already won a mares’ series final over this CD. Betdaq Betting Exchange 15.5 offers this morning.
Realta Liath was impressive on her chasing debut at Fontwell, without beating anything of note but her yard is flying and her jockey, Sean Bowen, heading for 200 winners this season. BETDAQ 10.0.
Theonewedreamof was let down by her jumping when fifth in this race for Gavin Comwell a year ago.
She has improved under Dan Skelton but it remains to be seen whether she can now cope with these Cheltenham fences at the second attempt.
She Is For Me Boys finished six lengths in front of It’s Easy at Kempton before that one won 40 lengths from a small field in a bog at Bangor. I’m doubtful about taking the form at face value. (It’s Easy overall 2-23 chases).
VINCENZO POISED FOR VICTORY
⭕ 1.50 Cheltenham (December Gold Cup): Daqman ratings and form: see Wednesday.
1 VINCENZO I’m relying on the form of the November Gold Cup when Vincenzo and Hoe Joly Smoke were in the frame behind Panic Attack.
2 HOE JOLY SMOKE was a bit short of room at the last and is 5lb better off now, and I would be happy to reverse my forecast; one-two could be two-one!
3 JAGWAR is four out of five over fences including 2-2 on this new course at Cheltenham in the J P McManus colours. But today is first run back since winning the Plate at the Festival.
Colonel Harry was impressive in the Grand Sefton return over the National fences but has a poor Cheltenham record.
Paul Nicholls won this with Frodon when the gelding was only four, and again when he was still only six. Today is Joseph O’Brien’s turn to try with a youngster.
But Kim Roque made mistakes at the November meeting here and may need more time. Martator is the best long-shot if caught in the mood.
Betdaq Betting Exchange 5.7 Vincenzo, 7.3 Hoe Joly Smoke, 27 Martator
BRUIT IS BEST AT AROUND 10-1
⭕ 2.25 Cheltenham: David’s Well completed a hat-trick 11 months on when he came back after a minor injury to score at Haydock three weeks ago.
He steps up a grade here but could still head for Wetherby on Boxing Day as they fancy building his rating for a crack at the Festival, and 22lb from his 3-3 chases suggest he is bang on cue.
JPR One was runner-up to Djelo in the Haldon Gold Cup last November but hasn’t progressed, only 4lb higher now whereas Djelo is up 16lb and will be bidding for a Grade-2 treble on Boxing Day.
JPR’s stablemate, Triple Trade, a winner here on the old course the last day, was a long way off Calico in a previous race at Cheltenham, and his form at today’s level was in 2023.
Calico was beaten comfortably by Sans Bruit in the Red Rum Chase at Aintree in the Spring before the Paul Nicholls seven-year-old won the Sussex Champion Chase under today’s claimer, Jay Tidball. Too big on BETDAQ this morning at offers of 11.0.
STORM STAR BET FOR BALDING
⭕ 5.15 Newcastle: Andrew Balding wants 200 winners this year and, with just nine needed, has 15 in daily AW training, with eight entries declared up to and including next Thursday at Kempton, Lingfield, Wolverhampton and one at Newcastle today.
Storm Star opened his account first time on a racetrack here at Newcastle in May 2024 and has been out of the frame just the once since that day.
He landed a class-2 hat-trick at Newcastle in the Spring and, of his opponents today, all bar Houquetot have raced in lower grades.
Houquetot is a hidden horse. He’s joined David O’Meara after gelding and wind surgery since down the field for Christopher Head in the French 2,000 Guineas in the Spring. BETDAQ 27.0 (2.5 three places).

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
