BANKER IN BACK-TO-BACK NAPS: Daqman yesterday moved all in, maximum stakes, on the Worcester gamble, Orby’s Man (WON 4-6), to add a banker to his previous day’s nap. He described it as a ‘good thing’ and it was his third best bet up this week.

THAT’S 15 WINS IN FIVE DAYS: He had four winners on the day to bring his total to 15 wins in five days. They included Dansili Dutch (WON 6-1) in the BETDAQ Apprentice Training Series Final. The others were Nabucco (WON 9-2) and Lucida (WON evens).

TON-UP AND BULL’S-EYE ATTACK: Like Pricewise, Daqman is four-handed for the Cambridgeshire, as he steps up his stakes to win 50 points (bull’s-eye) and even 100 (ton-up). Current score: Daqman 101, Pricewise 38. They also clash in the 3.10 today.

CORNROW THE CAMBRIDGESHIRE KING

Massive value on BETDAQ. That’s my first impression of the Cambrideshire as I go through the list in the orange this morning which adds up to 111%. Compare that with the greedy 142% SP Total for the race last year, reflecting a massive take-out by the bookies.

My ABC Guide appeared in Wednesday’s column, but I’ve split them now as if individual races are taking places in the high, middle and low draws, though they are more likely to split into two main groups.

3.50 Newmarket (Cambridgeshire) The low dozen stalls contain the last two winners of the race, Educate and Bronze Angel, who could go close again but I see a dark horse lurking, with Paul Hanagan booked.

There are other good reasons for supporting the classy Homage. Lightly raced, he has had this race as his target all season because he needed his problems ironing out.

Trainer William Haggas has picked two champion jockeys in an all-out bid for the prize. On the other side of this cavalry charge, he has Queensberry Rules in stall 33, under Ryan Moore.

Whereas the Haggas pair is split across the track, John Gosden’s attack is entirely on that high side, with Cornrow in 30 and Maverick Wave next door in 31.

Maverick Wave will greatly benefit from his fourth at the Doncaster Leger meeting – which often throws up the winner of this – but just in front of him then was another lightly-raced sort with the sharpest late-season handicap trainer of them all, Velox for Luca Cumani.

Velox (out of gate 28) was little more than a length off the runner-up, Bronze Angel that day, and at Sandown in July had finished in front of Gabrial’s Kaka (stall 34).

So it is that he and his trainer have had sight of two of the main protagonists in today’s big handicap, and Cam Hardie’s 5lb claim keeps him on the right side in the handicap.

Cornrow is my pick – and William Buick’s – of the Gosden pair, a New Approach colt who will step up on his prep runs over shorter.

In the middle of the track, Niceofyoutotellme has a fine chance. Don’t go in with both feet, but the disappointment about his Air Pilot missing the cut would quickly be dispelled by success for Ralph Beckett’s ‘second string’. If you see BF by his name, it’s not the usual Beaten Favourite but Bad Feet.

Excellent form, including a 1m 2f win at Newmarket, led Niceofyoutotellme to Royal Ascot, then to last year’s Silver Cambridgeshire, but problems with his feet limited his ability until he bounced back over today’s course and distance in May.

Though hampered by the winner, he finished in front of rivals today, Pacific Heights, Gabrial’s Kaka, Queensberry Rules, Fort Bastion and Ingleby Angel in the Royal Hunt Cup. His current form? Foot perfect.

Buckstay, with Maxine Guyon booked, and God Willing, yet another lightly raced and with Oisin Murphy aboard, are others straight own the middle.

DAQMAN’S 1-2-3-4: Cornrow 1, Velox 2, Homage 3, Niceofyoutotellme 4

CELEBRITY STATUS FOR FRENCH FILLY

2.00 Newmarket (Jersey Lily Nursery) William Haggas has won this twice since 2006, both times favourite, with the money down and only one loser in the race since.

His Gregoria was beaten at Doncaster, trying to make all. Ridden differently, she can belie her 10.0 BETDAQ offers this morning but faces two easy maiden winners, Sandy Cay and Rosalie Bonheur.

Sandy Cay is the only one with Group entries (Fillies’ Mile next stop) and the market says that the Stoute grey will take the beating.

2.35 Newmarket (Royal Lodge Stakes) This used to be a Derby guide but, apart from the day Frankel called in and took them apart, nothing of Classic note has won since the 1997 Derby winner, Benny The Dip, 18 years back.

On Tuesday I wrote up Barry Hills chances at this meeting and was rewarded with a winning nap on Mohatem. I’m taking Nafaqa to follow up the stable form, winner over Toocoolforschool at Doncaster before that one pulverised the Mill Reef field.

3.10 Newmarket (Cheveley Park Stakes) High Celebrity tries to follow up Natagora (2007) and Special Duty (2009) for France and go on, as they did, to take the 1,000 Guineas on the same course.

She has followed the path of two previous winners of this race by taking the Prix d’Arenberg at Chantilly.

Her only defeat came ironically when – coming over for better ground in July – it rained at Newmarket, she was bumped at the start, and she couldn’t get to Arabian Queen on the soft in a slow time.

Today she faces Ireland’s Anthem Alexander and the home hope, Tiggy Wiggy, with the fuse of their own private war reignited after Anthem beat Tiggy in the Queen Mary but lost out to her over a furlong further in the Lowther.

Tiggy Wiggy’s record time in the Lowther saw her make all in sensational style and much will depend today on how far in front of High Celebrity she is at The Dip.

The race is on from that point. But the ace for value was easier this morning. The 5.2 High Celebrity in a fabulous 102% orange list on BETDAQ meant that I could spend a bit of it, saving on Tiggy.

DISCAY 11.0 IS DOCTOR’S ORDERS

2.15 Market Rasen If ever a trainer was missing strike it’s Peter Bowen, with a fortnight’s form figures of 534244554435. Does not augur well for Dineur.

David Pipe, John Ferguson and Ian Williams have the stables in form and you should get a price behind the dodgy favourite, Mijhaar. Jockey one to trust implicitly; horse, not so.

I shall go for an improver, the novice Discay for the very clever Dr Newland could be anything. I needed a fair price, and I got one on BETDAQ: 11.0 as I write.
