SIX DAQMAN WINNERS IN THREE DAYS: Rohaan (WON 2-1) at Ascot yesterday gave Daqman a sixth winner in three days. He’s had three winning naps in the last six days and leads Pricewise 54-28 in their value challenge.
SATURDAY SEARCH FOR BETDAQ VALUE: Daqman today roams Ascot, the Curragh, Newmarket and Redcar, looking for BETDAQ value or good things; hopefully both!
RED DANIELLE THROWN IN
⭕ 1.30 Newmarket (1m 2f fillies’ handicap) The early money was for Totnes (that’s Tot Ness) and Lady Baba, though backers also liked Lady Alara, an Ascot handicap winner.
Whispering Words steps up from a mile, looking in her two runs this year as if she needed this 10 furlongs. There’s been no hurry with her or with Lady Baba, who went clear in a minor stakes race at Ffos Las, two furlongs beyond today’s trip.
Totnes has done a lot of work in nine races of competition, and I much prefer Red Danielle, carrying 9st 6lb but could be a snip off a 90 rating if she is carried along on a wave of form.
She went down narrowly at Newbury in July to Sweet Memories, who went on to win a Listed, then ran up to Time Lock in a Group 3, earning the winner a 112 rating. BETDAQ value 7.3.
⭕ 1.45 Curragh (Group 3, 1m, 2yo fillies) Kitty Rose almost crept into my top 2yo list earlier in the week, so impressed had I been when she won back to back at Naas and Leopardstown.
Offered at 2.8 on BETDAQ this morning, she will need to be good against an Aidan O’Brien pair (he’s won five of the last nine) but, with 12 runs between them, they look exposed.
Unreasonable (10.0 offers), who will come on from winning at Cork, might be a bigger headache and I’ll take the unbeaten pair with their odds buoyed up by the presence of Ballydoyle.
DRAGON RATINGS LEADER
⭕ 2.45 Redcar (Two-Year-Old Trophy, 6f) Centre to far side, stalls 3 to 8, have won the last five, but it’s a small field this year.
The form hinges on Love Billy Boy, third to Dragon Leader in a Sales race at York (firmish), giving the winner 5lb, then third – but nearer the winner – giving Flaccianello 3lb at Ayr (softish).
Though the handicapper has dropped ‘Billy’ from 88 to 85, he finds himself giving away even more weight to them both!
In fact, though Dragon Leader has since finished second in another big-field Sales event of even better quality, the conditions of today’s race have him receiving weight from all bar the seeming no-hopers.
GARRUS GETS A 10.0 CHANCE
⭕ 3.00 Ascot (Bengough Stakes, 6f, Group 3) Dark Trooper, Ascot CD-handicap winner the last twice, completing a four–timer, steps up a couple of grades into Group-3 company.
The last to do this was Lightning Moon (2014) but three winning three-year-olds since then have all brought established Group form to the table.
Rumstar won the Cornwallis here in this month last year but has been badly out of form this season and has to bounce back, so the second-season strength in this is weak; it seems Dark Trooper or nothing.
And there are just two four-year-olds or we have to leave this to Vadream, the winner in 2021, but aged five now, like Jumby, the Wokingham third.
Vadream was not sighted in the Kings Stand, albeit badly drawn, and wants a soft-heavy surface. Third in that race was Annaf, but he’s had to resort to a handicap (the Portland) to get back on target.
Pink Crystal is consistent but not at such a high level as Commanche Falls, third in this event last year and winner of 12 races.
He was beaten in the Spring by the grey 10.0 BETDAQ offer Garrus, a big favourite at home, who has spent most of his career travelling to France and Ireland.
MARQUISE TO MAR INSPIRAL
⭕ 3.15 Newmarket (Sun Chariot Stakes, Group-1 fillies and mares, 1m) See Thursday for Daqman’s preview with ratings and form.
Inspiral was eased a couple of pounds by the computer after a string of defeats in between back-to-back August strikes at Deauville in the Prix Jacques le Marois.
Just after she completed that double, Mqse De Seigne surged to within a pound of her with the second leg of a Group-1 double herself at Deauville.
I was taught to ‘always back the improver with fillies’ but the Marquise has won all her races on soft ground. Inspiral doesn’t want extremes of going, and it could bake further from good to firm.
Frankie Dettori at 50 may not have to bow to 28 years his junior, Alexis Pouchin, but BETDAQ 5.8 the improver is irresistible.
FAVOURITE TRACK FOR FRESH
⭕ 3.30 Curragh (6f fillies and mares Listed) William Haggas sends Pinafore over for this €32k prize on the kind of soft ground that produced the grey filly’s best performance of the year at Nottingham 11 days ago.
Fozzy Stack’s Aussie Girl has had 11 races this year, nine times second, third or fourth, which is often the lot of those who like to lead: she is in the adjacent stall to Pinafore which provides the Newmarket raider with an ideal tow. BETDAQ 4.2.
⭕ 3.35 Ascot (7f handicap) Fresh was at the Curragh the last day, running well, but Ascot in the late summer has been his favourite track over this oddity distance of 7f.
One of four runners for David O’Meara here, Orbaan also won over CD last summer but is hard to pitch right.
His last year’s winner, Escobar, needs cut in the ground and there are no smiles for a sunny day. Drying ground doesn’t help Pearle d’Or, Rhoscolyn or Atrium but is unlikely to be firm enough for Bless Him.
One month back, we saw Quinault make all here from Popmaster and Hickory. Popmaster gets a penalty for winning at Newbury since that day but is still better off with Quinault.
Betdaq Betting Exchange I’ll take Fresh (stall 18) at 5.7 from the high numbers and Hickory (2) at 9.3 on the other side.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
