BANKER UP IN WINNING WEEK: Daqman landed a banker better than evens on BETDAQ when Exhort (WON 5-6) held on gamely at Thirsk yesterday. After four winning days out of five, his tally coming into the weekend is 82 points profit to recommended stakes.

DAQMAN IS 304 POINTS AHEAD: Today Daqman tries to extend his 70-13 lead over Pricewise of the Racing Post. He’s 304 points clear to a single-unit stake as they go head-to-head in the 2.25 and 3.00 Sandown, 2.45 Chester and 3.15 Beverley.

RATINGS SAY CAPE CAN COAST IN

2.10 Chester Cape Coast, though rated 5lb inferior off 90, ran a cracker in a class 2 at Ascot, beaten a head by Bin Battuta, who was only a neck down at the finish of the 19-runner Melrose at York last week and is now on 102.

Who Dares Wins was fourth in the Chester Cup and third in the Ascot Stakes, so this is a big drop back in trip. Northumberland Plate fifth My Reward will probably try to outrun them from stall 2, which might help supply a strong pace for ‘Dares,’ but an 11 draw should allow Cape Coast, a 5.4 BETDAQ offer, to tuck in and conserve his stamina. And use his light weight.

Three-year-olds have won two out of the last three, and cheekpieces plus a longer trip might inspire Apphia to be the best of them here in her fourth attempt at getting some black type.

‘Nearly horse’ Shraaoh tried cheekpieces at Goodwood but they didn’t much help so they’re left off this time. Graceland is another placed in good company without winning.

PLACE YOUR MONEY WITH PURSER

2.25 Sandown (Solario Stakes) John Gosden has won this with subsequent Group-1 stars Raven’s Pass (2007) and Kingman (2013).

His American colt Purser, a 4.6 BETDAQ offer early mouse, needed only hands-and-heels riding for a cheeky win at Newbury and is likely to have come on the proverbial ton.

He will need to if he is to cope with Masar, who has shown enough class to run third in the Chesham to September and Nyaleti, who followed up with a Group-3 success on the same course.

Romanised, not disgraced in the Coventry and the Phoenix, can’t be discounted on the face value of that form, but he’s been slow into his stride and on his toes, so I’m not yet convinced.

DREAMS OF AN 11.5 WINNER..

2.45 Chester This is a stronger race this year. Breakable managed to get to the rails early from stall 7 and win it in 2016. Better drawn in two, he has a 7lb higher rating but only an extra pound to carry.

And the 2015 winner in stall 6 off 98, Sound Advice, carries 3lb less today though is rated 2lb higher. He has a high draw now in 12 but is in first-time tongue-tie, and his Chester course form in handicaps is 1141010.

Gabrial is slowly slipping down the handicap and this is his weakest race since fourth in the Lincoln but he’s eight now and has a modest 2-38 strike rate since the start of 2015.

Sound Advice has won four times at Chester but remains on a high mark and is drawn out in the old chocolate factory in 12.

Sharp Defence has made two winning trips to England this season but they were in lesser races and he is 5lb higher than when only fifth over CD here in May.

War Glory is a regular bridesmaid and has never won on turf. Penwortham won a class 3 at Chester last September, was beaten a neck in May at 50-1 but only fifth here again on the last day at 9-2. Those prices suggest that they haven’t a clue when he’s going to cooperate.

The hidden horse – or rather filly – of the race is Love Dreams (11.5 on BETDAQ early mouse), who has the speed to win at 6f, the breeding to stay 1m 6f, and has been tried in Group 3.

INTIMATION OF IMMORTALITY

3.00 Sandown (Atalanta Stakes) Sir Michael Stoute has taken this fillies’ and mares’ Group 3 three times in the decade, among them with the subsequent Sun Chariot heroine Integral (013). The danger on form to his Intimation here must be Aljazzi.

Intimation failed by only half a length recently to give 7lb to the Irish Oaks runner-up, Rain Goddess, while Aljazzi split Qemah and Usherette in her last race at Royal Ascot in June.

The handicapper rates Aljazzi 8lb better than the year-older five-year-old Intimation who, being with Stoute, can be expected to improve, even now. Greta G was behind Aljazzi at Royal Ascot but this is a drop in grade and the tongue-tie might help.,

Discounting her belated debut to the 2017 season, Nathra, second in the French 1,000 Guineas last season, is dropped to Group 3 for the first time since winning the 2016 Nell Gwyn.

But what about the three-year-olds, who have won this eight times out of 10? Well, they really don’t look up to much, though Tisbutadream and Urban Fox were just in front of Nathra when she made that belated reappearance at Ascot in July. I took 4.7 Intimation.

STALLS BIAS BOOSTS KIMBERELLA

3.15 Beverly Bullet Eight of the last nine Bullets have been won from stalls 1 to 4. Mirza and Take Cover may just be short of finish, both aged 10, and The Wagon Wheel seems out of place here, so I shall go along with Kimberella (BETDAQ 5.6), who has won several times at 6f, so the tough Beverley sprint course will suit.

3.35 Sandown Three-year-olds are going for a hat-trick in this, and Across Dubai (5.1 offers) will be more at home at this trip and on this ground after struggling in the soft at Goodwood.
