DAQMAN 587 POINTS UP ON PRICEWISE: Daqman goes into a Saturday of big races at Kempton and Warwick leading Pricewise for value winners 20-7 with a profit of 403.33 to his archrival’s loss of 184.16.

STONE’S THROW AT FURTHER..

⭕ 2.07 Kempton (Silviniaco Conti Chase) I can hardly oppose Edwardstone. I have been complaining after his defeats by Jonbon on the grounds that Edwardstone really needed 2m 4f and to leave the fast two-milers to their game.

But it’s still doubt-inducing that he should finally step beyond 2m or so for the first time in 27 starts at the age of 10.

Edwardstone, at around 3-1, is top rated but is giving away the years to Martin Pipe winner Banbridge, who switched to chasing over 2m 4f and won the Manifesto at Aintree, making it 3-3 for the Irish raider in England.

Notlongtillmay represents the Turner form at the festival last March and the Autumn Gold Cup form in November, both at Cheltenham, both times runner-up to Stage Star, who is now on a mark of 166.

Stage Star’s stablemate Pic D’Orhy, who won the Melling Chase at Aintree, is 2-2 at Kempton and only 2lb behind Edwardstone in the ratings. It’s quite a contest with the three market leaders separated by 0.4 points on BETDAQ this morning!

A SERIOUS OUTSIDER AT 29.0

⭕ 2.42 Kempton (Lanzarote Hurdle) STATS: See Thursday preview

1 IMPOSE TOI Nicky Henderson (1P103P) has recently done better in this than Paul Nicholls (140442) and Nicky’s flexible friend, Impose Toi, is truly reliable, with returns of 212112, though alternating between 2m and 2m 5f.

He is 13lb higher than for his winning handicap debut as a novice at Cheltenham in November, afterwards just pipped at Ascot (Teddy Blue last) with the 10lb hike that had cost him.

Stablemate King Alexander has also been punished with a 10lb rise for a class-3 success, stepped up into senior handicapping at Exeter.

2 SERIOUS OPERATOR Lucinda Russell’s six-year-old beat a 140-rated of Henderson’s at Doncaster so is spot on in this handicap to beat Sonigino.

3 SONIGINO seemingly the Paul Nicholls first string, the choice of Harry Cobden, winner on good and on heavy.

Excellent third at Aintree in the Spring, and won a class 2 returning there last month under 12st., giving 16lb to the runner-up.

4 IRISH HILL who lost his form for Nicholls after a hat-trick on today’s ground at this time last year, bounced back into a place the last day in blinkers and after wind surgery. The ground was against him then.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 5.3 Impose Toi, 9.3 Sonigino, 29 Serious Operator

BOY’S ANTE-POST BET ON TRIAL

⭕ 2.24 Warwick This novice chase was won very easily two years ago by Threeunderthrufive, who was pipped at Cheltenham just before Christmas by Broadway Boy (Protektorat third).

🔺 FORTUNE COOKIE Broadway Boy is our 17.0 BETDAQ ante-post bet for the Brown Advisory at the Cheltenham Festival in March, and taking 4.4 for today’s contest could cover our stake and reduce those offers. Potential ’overs’ are the whole point of ante-post betting.

Rated 6lb and 9lb behind him today are Grey Dawning and Apple Away, which leaves Grey Dawning struggling at the weights but the conditions of the race favour the mare, Apple Away, who receives 12lb.

Patrick Wadge rides Apple Away here instead of the same stable’s Serious Operator in the Lanzarote at Kempton.

FORM LINES ALL ABOUT MALINA

3.00 Warwick Classic: 🔺 FORTUNE COOKIE Malina Girl seemed set to beat Broadway Boy when, going easily on the new course at Cheltenham in December, she fell three out, seemingly shrugging off an 11lb rise for scoring by 10 lengths on the old course there in November.

Guetapan Collonges is 6lb better off with Malina Girl on the November form when he was third but he has to make up more than 11 lengths.

City Chief, favourite, beaten more than 14 lengths into fourth, and just 8lb better today, proved the form when subsequently a modest fifth in that Broadway Boy chase when Malina Girl fell.

Fontaine Collonges is 7lb higher for winning the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby on Boxing Day but four of the five other runners that day pulled up, so it is hard to use the form for betting purposes.

Connections of Major Dundee, third in the Scottish National and winner of the Midlands National last March, are hoping that the first-time visor will revitalise him after modest efforts in the autumn.

Credo has been in the frame in eight out of nine chases and is usually well backed, so watch for movement from this morning’s 20.0 BETDAQ offers.

Percussion has jumped round the Grand National fences so effectively that he’s finished in a place (three seconds and third) every time in four attempts; Grand Sefton twice and Becher Chase twice.

Those who find 27.0 tempting for today should worry whether it’s now Aintree or bust.

KEEP AN EYE ON 33.0 CYCLOP

⭕ 3.35 Warwick (Veterans Chase Final) Thomas Darby’s win over the Warwick CD in November was a boost for the 1-2-3 in the Chepstow leg of this series, when he was fourth to Good Boy Bobby, Aye Right and Cyclop.

Good Boy Bobby is a stone worse off with Aye Right (claiming 7lb) and 13lb with Cyclop (claiming 5lb) so they are likely to come out on top this time.

BETDAQ value 7.1 Aye Right, 33 Cyclop

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
