6-1 NAP WINS TWICE IN THREE DAYS: The domino effect of Daqman’s streak of hot tips reached 16 winners (five naps) in nine days yesterday as he threw a fabulous double six of naps. Strangely, both Wednesday’s and Friday’s 6-1 strikes drifted in the market. La Tihaty came from last to first; Bolton shot more than seven lengths clear.

PLAY RED FOR A HAPPY SPIN
⭕ 1.15 Sandown Winner of this in 2018 (but only sixth in 2020), Chef D’Equipe is 7lb lower, with only a hunter-chase win since then over fences but with recent wind surgery tweaked.
Darebin has been winner and second here in a December chase over just short of 2m but his attempts at around 2m 4f show returns of 2P4P.
Farinet led much of the way when a CD winner here at Listed novice level in the Spring but it was a nothing race in which he was getting lumps of weight, and the grey pulled up at Cheltenham on his return at a higher level. No value in 2.76 offers.
Goa Lil has won over hurdles and fences at this sort of trip but has been kept away from soft ground since four consecutive flops in the mud in 2019-20.
Kilbrook is a quirky sort who has been hard to train and his win the last day came after much cajoling. Has he turned the corner? I wouldn’t bet on it.
Luckofthedraw is raised in class, 11lb higher than for his last success, and I shall take a chance on Red Happy (BETDAQ 8.6) against such a motley crew, getting a stone from the favourite.
It’s his first run for David Pipe after back-to-back November wins for smart trainer Gabriel Leenders on very soft ground in France.
ANOTHER DIAMOND FOR SAM?
⭕ 1.50 Sandown Olly Murphy’s fortunes have dipped (1-34) and Gunsight Ridge has that bridesmaid look, with form figures last year of 23232, though you could hardly complain about his most recent effort, when runner-up to L’Homme Presse, who went on to land a hat-trick.
Tom George (1-15) is also out of form or I might fancy Bun Doran, who likes the ground and has nosedived in the handicap.
The papers are claiming improvement in Numitor, though his rating remains fairly static. Tom Scudamore is back on board.
But, with Scudamore on Numitor (he’s won twice on him), Harry Cobden takes over Moonlighter (BETDAQ 8.8), who beat the Graded-level Dolos over today’s CD on heavy a year or so back. Will benefit from Cobden’s driving style.
⭕ 2.05 Wincanton Sam Thomas, who won the Cheltenham Gold Cup on Paul Nicholls’ Denman, returns to the track local to the Denman stable.
The reliable Grey Diamond, 4.2 on BETDAQ for Thomas, who won the Welsh Grand National over Christmas, seems to have lost his main opponent, Glajou (non-runner).
So the danger may now be the grey mare, Belle de Manech, who is down in trip after scoring here on Boxing Day.
RAISE A GLASS AT BETDAQ 15.5
⭕ 2.25 Sandown (Tolworth Novices Hurdle) Nicky Henderson, who is at home in quarantine, could get a tonic from Constitution Hill, who went 14 lengths clear of an 11-lengths winner in a one-sided match over CD in December, yet the time was very fast.
Henderson told Raceform after the race: ‘He is the most extraordinary animal I’ve ever met; he’ll go back to his stable and sleep now!’
The massive Mr Glass only does enough so we can’t be sure what he is, but he’s won two hurdles out of two and has scored from a 2m bumper to 2m 6f over the sticks, unbeaten since his debut. If ever there was a future star chaser..
Datsalrightgino is on the upgrade and my handicapping stick has him a notional second in the ratings behind the favourite.
In fact, excluding Shalwehaveonemore (has difficulty settling) and debutant Whizz Kid (will surely need the run), there are three horses against Constitution Hill who have all won their last two starts.
I can’t back a one-win odds-on fave in a novice hurdle in those circs; something might go wrong in the mud: so just for an interest, Mr Glass might shatter some dreams (BETDAQ 15.5 or 12 to win and 3 a place in an each-way bet).
ROLLING BACK THE YEARS: 13.5
⭕ 3.00 Sandown (Veterans Chase Series Final) Venetia Willams, who won this with Houblon des Obeaux in 2019, has Aso punished only 2lb for finishing runner-up to Blaklion in Leg 12 of this series at Haydock (heavy) in December.
But he’s 13lb down on his rating of three years ago when a dual winner before second to Frodon in the Ryanair, so he doesn’t have to be the horse he was.
Midlands Grand National third Final Nudge won Leg 10 at Warwick; he is a 13yo now but so were two of the last five winners. Front-runner Sir Ivan was fourth at Warwick.
Wandrin Star won Leg 9 over the Sandown CD in November from Dancing Shadow, who tried to make most and is 2lb better off today for a length and a half but hasn’t won since 2017.
The third that November day, Gwencily Berbas, is a marathon runner, winner over 3m 6f at Exeter since, taking advantage of a slow pace.
Philip Hobbs’ Rolling Dylan, runner-up in Leg 8 in October, is 15lb lower than when fifth in the Sandown Gold Cup of 2019 and has run well since a spell Pointing with Laura Parker. Looks well handicapped on a line through Sir Ivan via Valadom.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
