DAQMAN FINDS 14-1 DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH: After three winners on Thursday, it was rough going for Daqman yesterday when three consecutive Jumps bets finished second! Then he bagged Diamond Gait (WON 14-1) and another one last night for English form figures of 22211 on the day.

FOUR FOR THE FINAL FLING ON THE FLAT: The fat lady sings on Town Moor, Doncaster, this afternoon and the Flat is finished for another year, with Daqman leading Pricewise 84-23, some 297 points clear, for the final selections in the 2.05 and 3.15 races, plus the 3.00 and 3.35 Wincanton.
SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR DAVID
2.05 Doncaster This is where we came in, worrying about the draw for the Lincoln, won by Bravery, who runs a furlong shorter in the 1.35 before this stalls splitter of a 6f sprint.
The extremes of the draw are exemplified by Sir Michael Stoute versus David Elsworth, veterans who have done well this term, with Dream Of Dreams (huge at 9.6 on BETDAQ) drawn 2 and Sir Dancealot (4.2 offers) out in 14.
The last twice the going was so deep, the low stalls won, and Dream of Dreams has had the speed on soft to race in the van and the stamina to win over another furlong.
However, only a fortnight ago, Perfect Pasture beat Flying Pursuit over today’s CD on the soft, coming out of adjacent stalls 13 and 14.
And now here’s another big split across the track, with Flying Pursuit – weighted to reverse the form – racing from the one stall and Perfect Pasture in 11 of 14.
Both were behind Teruntum Star at York and, with no correction in the handicap against him here, Kevin Ryan had no choice but to saddled his Star for this final leg of a hat-trick.
But, like Dream of Dreams, Sir Dancealot has stamina as well as speed. He is used to Pattern company, came back to form here on the last day over 7f, and escapes a penalty.
PUNTERS’ GODSEND AT BETDAQ 6.6
3.15 Doncaster (November Handicap) There appears to be an insurmountable trap in this race, with seven or eight stalls being completely shut out of it.
Ten out of 10 winners have come from gates 9 to 22 in the decade, and the low seven stalls have failed to produce a winner at this trip in any handicap over the last 12 years.
Six of the last 10 November Handicap winners came from 9, 12, 13 and 14. In 9 today is Chelsea Lad but his best form – Cambridgeshire fourth – seems hardly relevant at today’s trip (that also applies to Sir Chauvelin).
The 10 stall contains Wild Hacked, who would go close on AW success but is on a high turf rating for his winning form more than a year ago off 89, albeit his Newbury run on the last day gives the handicapper some justification for the 100 mark.
Al Destoor (drawn 11) is a bridesmaid, placed 11 times but with just two wins from 15 turf starts.
Royal Line (12) is having only the fourth race of his life but is already proven at the trip and on the ground. Could take a step forward at any time.
John Gosden is the punters’ godsend and this grandson of Derby winner Lammtara stands out in the race on potential and the BETDAQ 6.6 may look value with hindsight.
Towerlands Park (13) is also unexposed and, since his debut, has finished in the first four every time in big fields, but his dual success was at Kempton on AW.
Saunter (14) is a tough sort who showed signs on the last day for his new stable of regaining his good 2016 form. I took 10.0 offers.
Three horses have won this from adjacent stalls 20, 21 and 22, where Dance The Dream appeals for a stable that’s done well this backend but his chance may be revealed by his being much worse off with Top Tug whom he beat at Leicester and collateral form through Gawdalpin demands that he improve again, if he is to beat Wild Hacked.
3.50 Doncaster Tim Easterby has won three of the last four runnings, and may have the final race of the Flat season sorted with Excellent Times (7.6 BETDAQ offers) and Biddy Brady (9.0), both below the 9st mark in this nursery, both liking it soft.
Excellent times, indeed! But the Jumps season can’t wait to provide its own heroes, and it makes a pretty good start at Aintree, Naas and Wincanton today.
JUMPS: MODUS A McMANUS STAR
1.45 Naas Gigginstown versus J P McManus will have been a feature of the first three races here today, starting with two youngsters of huge potential over hurdles, Mortal (Joseph O’Brien for Gigginstown) and Red Jack (Noel Meade for McManus).
I’m catching up here with a much dodgier prospect, first run over hurdles for Pallasator (Gordon Elliott), a law unto himself but a Group-2 winner on the Flat and said to have taken well to obstacles at home.
2.25 Wincanton There are future stars hiding behind a grey day at Aintree, too, but this is the race in which I found my first money-spinner for you last season, Frodon.
And, despite Naas, J P McManus may have one of his best young chasers for the future here from the Frodon stable of Paul Nicholls, in Lanzarote Hurdle winner, Modus.
3.00 Wincanton (Elite Hurdle) Nicholls has won this four years from the last eight but another guide is the top weight which has won six of the last eight.
And you can’t want for better class in the horse, Charbel, or better recent form in the trainer, Kim Bailey, whose form figures for the last two days are 12111 (thanks, Kim, for Diamond Gait at 14-1).
IT’S NICHOLLS THEATRE OF WAR
3.35 Wincanton (Badger Ales Trophy) The BETDAQ market (9.6 the field as I write) tells the story of this race. Wide open or what!
That man Nicholls is back with Southfield Theatre on his local track, where he was home and hosed in this one but crumpled at the last a year ago, though is NOT the actual choice today of Sam Twiston-Davies.
Yes, Sam rides, but Ditcheat has three runners and Nicholls says he just left the same jockeys on Mr Mix and Present Man who had won on them in the last three weeks.
I shall jump aboard Mr Mix (9.8 offers) who gave more than a stone to last year’s Badger Ales winner, Gentleman Jon, when beating him here over further at the October meeting.
Fletchers Flyer is another Wincanton winner but stays much further and the race looks a bit sharp for him around these tight right-handers.
Venetia Williams (Vic De Touzaine and Yala Enki) has one or two in form but is generally unreliable at the moment, so I shall give Southfield Theatre his second chance in the race at 12.5 on BETDAQ.
