14.0 AND 10-1 WINNERS IN CHELTENHAM’S TWO DAYS: Daqman is on the home run 53-41 ahead of Pricewise for feature-race winners during the Flat season after a hat-trick at Cheltenham yesterday, made four on the day with an overall profit of 35.35 points by his Fortune Cookie in the Futurity at Doncaster. His four Cheltenham winners in two days, including BETDAQ 14.0 and 10-1, augur well for the Jumps season.

RODIN’S AWESOME CLASSIC PROMISE
They almost pulled him out. Only when Aidan O’Brien discovered the Doncaster ground was soft not heavy did he allow Auguste Rodin (pictured below) his chance to shine in the kingmaker two-year-old Futurity yesterday. Result: awesome.
O’Brien is always the thinker among trainers, not leaving a sculpted stone unturned, and his colt kissed the season goodbye with this promise: I’ll be back to take the Guineas and the Derby.
The late decision gave the market more jitters than a Tory budget and Auguste Rodin drifted to 9-4 before O’Brien landed a record 11th success in the race with Ryan Moore always sitting pretty. What a price!
Unless something else makes dramatic improvement in the Spring he could take the Guineas through sheer power and a racing mind though his style and stride says Derby winner. Extraordinary.
At Cheltenham, master trainers Paul Nicholls (with Shearer, his only runner at the entire meeting), and Willie Mullins (with Dads Lad) warned of battles to come on the course with impressive strikes.
That was particularly true of the Dads Lad win under an ace ride by Brian Hayes, who had to allow the horse to collect himself after he reached for one just as he was closing on the leaders.
Gordon Elliottt bagged a double with Piped Piper (Jack Kennedy) and Chemical Energy (Davy Russell), leaving questions unanswered.
Was Jack Kennedy particularly tall in the saddle or did Piped Piper look more like a pony, and where does Davy get his Energy for a romp of 61 lengths and 45 round this formidable track.
TARGET PRACTICE FOR THE HIT MAN
⭕ 2.40 Aintree (Old Roan Chase) Hit-man Paul Nicholls! He’s choosing his targets so carefully that on his three last days three separate horses have made solo trips to Exeter, Fontwell and Cheltenham, and all won. Current record 5-8, still standing.
Hitman, runner-up in the Melling Chase here in the Spring, is another returning after a wind op. He’s never been out of a place, still standing, when fresh.
The same can largely be said of Millers Bank, and he, too, had solid Spring form at Aintree, winner of the Manifesto by 10 lengths.
Riders Of The Storm also has CD form but a poor strike rate since the beginning of 2020. Similarly, Beakstown gets a lot of weight but is only 1-11 over fences. Ga Law made all three times in 2020-21 and Jamie Snowden is another trainer in form coming into this race, though the horse himself has been absent 603 days.
He’s probably there to set the race up for stablemate Soldier Of Destiny who improved 15lb in the Spring. Who wouldn’t be tactical, with a £45,000 prize at stake!
Do Your Job is 2121 after a break. He’s on a hat-trick from a Spring double, culminating in a Grade-2 strike at Ayr in the Champion Novices’ Chase but this is a big step up.

DILLIAN CAN DELIVER IN ‘ST LEGER’
⭕ 2.50 Longchamp (Prix Royal Oak) The English have won three in a row with three-year-olds, who are 5-7 overall in this two-mile French St Leger.
Al Qareem for Yorkshire, fourth in the Queens Vase, went over to the Arc meeting and won the Chaudenay from Sober; just a nose between them but Al Qareem refused to be beaten.
Michael Bell’s Camelot colt, Dillian (William Buick), was speedy enough to be considered Classic material but is bred for a stamina test, and got back on track with a convincing return at Ascot. Bell’s horses are in form again.
Search For A Song is six but was fourth last year and Dermot Weld for Ireland must think she stands a chance of some prizemoney again.
Rajinsky, fourth in the Northumberland Plate, won the Cesarewitch Trial at Newmarket but it’s hard to resist the three-year-old improvers, though they have their work cut out to stop five-year-old Iresine, an Arc-trial winner in the Prix Foy, if she stays.
Ryan Moore’s bid for a double, Al Qareem with team Charlton’s Whitebeam (3.25), could be foiled by two sons of Muhaarar – Ataared and Sicilian Defense – for the home side. Jean-Claude Rouget (Ataared) has trained five winners in his last five racing days.
9.7 DONKEY BIG NATIONAL VALUE
⭕ 3.35 Limerick (Munster National) This is won by a seven–year-old, unless there is something potentially top class and still only six (Tiger Roll 20-1 in 2016).
Velvet Elvis could be that six-year-old. Impressed at Navan before sixth in the Irish Grand National, bang there at this trip, but trainer Tom Gibney warns that his target is the autumn gold cup at Newbury.
Davy Russell on Floueur was third in the Punchestown Grand National Trial in February but he didn’t jump well in the Irish National. Gordon Elliottt stablemate, the enthusiastic Coko Beach, won the Thyestes in 2021 but his start-outs have been indifferent: 0124.
It’s a tough race, too, for Walking On Glass to complete his hat-trick in only his third-ever steeplechase.
Eric McNamara’s J P McManus eight-year-old, Donkey Years, was thereabouts on all the top Irish tracks last season: Thurles, Leopardstown and Fairyhouse placed before winning the Pat Taaffe Chase at Punchestown.
He wore cheekpieces at Punchestown and they are refitted today after his run (more like a canter) round Listowel in September.
Previously second time out: won at Navan 2021; beaten a neck by subsequent Kim Muir fourth at Thurles 2022.
Max Flamingo is fancied but his chase form is static off 142-144 rating with two small field successes (2-7); claiming off him might help.

EMILY DICKINSON DOWN IN CLASS
⭕ 3.45 The Curragh (Loughbrown Stakes) Three-year-olds win this (4-6) and it’s intriguing that Emily Dickinson (Aidan O’Brien) drops from Grade 1 and steps up to 2m.
O’Brien has won it three times in the decade, all with three–year-olds, and she has earned a 108 rating by finishing close up in the Lille Langtry, Doncaster St Leger and Prix Royallieu. BETDAQ 4.2
This idea could work but she’d have to beat the Doncaster Cup half-length third, 8.7 offer Lismore (rated 106), a five-year-old like last year’s winner, and Beamish (109), though four-year-olds have a poor record in this.
