WAIT FOR IT! DAQMAN’S NATIONAL 1-2-3: Daqman’s tips in his first four races yesterday finished 2222 but don’t worry his Aintree Grand National 1-2-3 last year finished exactly that, 1-2-3.

BULL’S-EYE BET AT FAIRYHOUSE: First it’s tomorrow’s Irish Grand National at the Fairyhouse meeting which opens this afternoon with Daqman aiming at a 40-1 bull’s-eye bet, more big value on BETDAQ.

ATTITUDE FOR REVENGE

⭕ 3.10 Bath (Lansdown Stakes) I touted Billy Loughnane for a big-race treble at Gosforth Park, Newcastle, on Good Friday, the day he was crowned AW Champion. But results not so good, Billy.

There were excuses for Andab (‘warm and edgy in the preliminaries’; only third) but he came too soon on Gaucher (half-a-length second) and Beylerbeyi (another third) was a disaster.

He told ITV viewers that he would have to hold Beylerbeyi up but I likened the pace of his exaggerated tactics to the three-hour Darlington to Newcastle journey before the advent of the 55 minute Flixbus!

Loughnane has eight rides at Bath today; Ruby’s Profit in this one for Dr Newland has a tricky draw in 8.

Stalls 11 twice, 13, 14 twice and 15 have won it in the last nine seasons and in-form Jack Channon has had Miss Attitude lined up for a year now!

Starting from gate 12 today, she came out of stall 3 in this race last year and finished last of 12 but the Raceform racereader quoted jockey Charles Bishop as saying: ‘Denied a clear run multiple times during the race.’

MULLINS ON FIRE AGAIN

⭕ 3.15 Fairyhouse Willie Mullins has won this Grade-2 novice hurdle with a future Cheltenham Gold Cup winner (Al Boum Photo), a Scottish Grand National winner (Captain Cody) and last year’s Liverpool Grand National hero (Nick Rockett). Yet none was favourite for this contest: not a one!

All Willie’s runners in this today are winners but He’s On Fire and Kiely’s Place stand out as the tough guys marked down already for fences.

My messages through the grapevine: ‘He’s On Fire is a real chaser for next year who jumps fantastically well and Kiely’s Place is a graded level hurdler who will make it big-time chasing.’

PATH LEADS TO 40-1 PUNT

⭕ 3.50 Fairyhouse Willie Mullins has bagged this mares novices hurdle four times in a row, with the last two both ‘also ran’ in the Dawn Run at Cheltenham.

Paul Townend’s pick of the Dawn Run now is fourth home Charme Du Faust, who was a stone behind the winner that day, White Noise, and 12lb short of runner-up Oldschool Outlaw.

White Noise was turning around by almost eight lengths her narrow Warwick beating by Kingston Queen when A Path To Ronda was third.

Old School Outlaw’s form is good for this extra distance, as she had slammed Dawn Run third Place De La Nation nine lengths here at Fairyhouse in February.

It all goes to suggest that Oldschool Outlaw is justifiably favourite at 3.45 offers on BETDAQ this morning but that A Path To Ronda is far and away too big at 40.0.

TOWNEND FAITH IN GOLD

⭕ 5.00 Fairyhouse Gold Cup This is another launchpad to star status for Willie Mullins youngsters.

His six out of seven recent scorers include two dual Cheltenham Gold Cup winners Galopin des Champs and Al Boum Photo. Only one of the six hits was favourite.

Jimmy Du Seuil made all in a big-field beginners at Fairyhouse in November but has lost form since.

Kappa Jy Pyke under Danny Mullins beat an odds-on Paul Townend on Predators Gold at Punchestown in January but the winner that day swerved Cheltenham and maybe this gold is instant karma with Townend faithful this afternoon. Betdaq Betting Exchange 5.1 taken.
