11-1 AMONG FOUR FOR THE SATURDAY KING: Daqman, who had four winners in a row at Ascot last Saturday, including a 50-1 shot, again had four consecutive returns yesterday, one of them an 11-1 winner. It was the final day of the pairing of Goodwood and Galway in a prolific winning week, in which he’s gone miles clear of Pricewise (66-11), 300 points ahead of his Racing Post rival to a single-unit stake.

BANKER NAP IN DAQMAN’S CRYSTAL BALL: Yet again his successes pointed up BETDAQ value on a day when he landed his banker with the Daqman crystal ball:

WON 11-1 SOLDIER IN ACTION (from 15.0 BETDAQ offers)
WON 9-2 SCORCHING HEAT (from 8.0 BETDAQ)
WON 6-4 CRYSTAL OCEAN (banker-stakes nap)
4TH 16-1 MR SHOWTIME (win and place, 19.0 on BETDAQ)

* Daqman v Pricewise today: 2.45 Deauville, 3.55 Galway

BRANDO BIG BETDAQ VALUE AT 11.0

2.45 Deauville (Prx Maurice De Gheest) Unbeaten in six starts, including defeat of Harry Angel at Royal Ascot, Caravaggio was turned over by Harry – and had Brando a short head in front of him – when only fourth in the July Cup.

There’s no Harry Angel to beat today but Brando is back, 2lb better off, and Caravaggio also has a rematch with Bound For Nowhere, hampered behind him at Ascot.

A third headache for Ryan Moore is stall one, though possibly alleviated by the close proximity in gate four of last year’s all-the-way winner, Signs of Blessing.

Question marks make evens Caravaggio a tough ticket. I prefer win-and-place Brando at a value 11.0 on BETDAQ. He seems to be in better shape again now and, strictly on the July Cup form, has the beating of the favourite.

3.23 (Prix De Pomone) Sir Michae Stoute, who improved yet another older horse with Crystal ocean yesterday now looking set for St Leger fglory, has Abingdon blessed by the waeather in deauville.

GHood g round mjay see her st op the French mare Bateel, whom Sir Michael kjnows all about through her soft-surface form with his Lillie Langtry runner-up Dubjka.

BILLY BOOKING BOOSTS BARAWEEZ

2.15 Galway Afatcat (17.0 on BETDAQ this morning) has been runner-up in this for the last two years, off 94 and 115, including on soft ground in 2015. He takes a 114 rating into this, with a 4lb claim.

Papal Motel (6.4 offers) is still only four but this is a poor field and he commands respect on his seconds to Nessun Dorma (unbeaten this year) and Whiskey Sour, who has landed a Ballybrit double this week.

3.20 Galway Dermot Weld, the king of Ballybrit, has had just one winner this week, and Yulong Gold Fairy is his final runner.

Her sire, Mount Nelson, has a massive record with his progeny on heavy ground, and she gets in off a lightweight for her lower auction price.

She had three winners in front of her in a smart maiden at The Curragh in May, won by a subsequent Group-2 horse.

3.55 Galway (Ahonoora Handicap) A final punter’s delight or heartache, depending on the result for you. Galway is certainly a lesson to the English on the rewards of putting the big money into handicaps. It’s been a sensational week, as ever.

There’s not much support from English trainers but Brian Ellison can tell them what they’re missing. He’s landed this big pot three times in a row, twice with Baraweez (2014-15) and last year with Dream Walker, who now attempts the same back-to-back success.

Baraweez has won it off 91 and 99 (he’s rated 94 today) and from stalls 11 and 2 (he’s well drawn in 4 this time around). Dream Walker is down a pound, failing to win since last year’s race, but was a cracking third earlier at Ballybrit this week, despite his age, with Baraweez behind and Secret Wizard in rear.

Riven Light, the horse that beat Dream Walker on Tuesday, is dropped back in trip and has a 7lb penalty in stall 15, with Dream Walklr next door in 14, but the market says he’ll win again.

Canary Row has had a break since storming home on heavy at Gowran Park in June but is also drawn wide, also adjacent, in stall 13.

VERDICT: Billy Lee has ridden four winners at he Ballybrit this week and he switches to Baraweez today. Before both his wins in this race, Baraweez had run earlier in the festival week. Add the draw factor and his 9.8 on BETDAQ looks tasty win and place.

ZENON NEEDS ZIP ROUND CHESTER

3.10 Chester Zenon is on a wake-up call here as part of his path to the St Leger, where he now faces a formidable foe in Crystal Ocean. He gets behind in his races, so has to show his class here around Chester.

3.30 Market Rasen J P McManus, who hopes to add to his five winners of Galway week on the final day, has a progressive six-year-old, Washed Ashore, returning to the track where he posted his best performance earlier in the summer on today’s good ground.

4.15 Chester Cotai Glory has been a nearly horse this year, left behind by new sprinting stars, not least from his own (Battaash) stable of Charlie Hills. This could be consolation.
