DAQMAN GOES 25-9 UP ON DAQMAN FOR THE IRISH 1,000 GUINEAS: Liberty Beach (WON 13-8) yesterday took Daqman 25-9 clear of Pricewise. Though too big at 4-1 under his rules, he has to count Molls Memory against his Lays Logic tally after his tip in the race, Ffion (2nd 13-2), was pipped close home. But it was a lesson in how you must follow BETDAQ right to the winning post. Ffion was taken on early and, though that took the sting out of her, she was 5-1 on at the finish and became the lay as Molls Memory charged at her.

GENTLEMAN JIM’S MAC-FABULOUS ONE-TWO IN THE CURRAGH 2,000: Three Group races at the Curragh today: the Gallinule, Tattersalls Gold Cup and, of course, the Irish 1,000 Guineas, following on the fabulous one-two by Jim Bolger in the 2,000 yesterday, a cracking finish between Mac Swiney and Newmarket Guineas winner, Poetic Flare.

The dogs are barking Jim Bolger. No sooner does Sir Mark Prescott complain to the Racing Post that too many horses from ‘the same kennel’ is what’s wrong with the Epsom Derby than ‘the kennel’ loses its bite to Jim Bolger AGAIN.
Ballydoyle is put in its place in a Classic for the second time this season by the Co Carlow stable. ‘Bolger is back’ the headlines keep saying.
But did he ever go away, one of many great trainers in England and Ireland overwhelmed by the sheer numbers at Ballydoyle.
After taking the Newmarket Guineas with Poetic Flare, Bolger bagged the Irish version yesterday with Mac Swiney, Poetic Flare closing in second in a battle to the line for a one-two usually reserved for Aidan O’Brien.
O’Brien was third with Van Gogh. Ryan Moore’s Ballydoyle pick, Wembley, was last to finish, as far off goal as he was at Newmarket.
Bolger celebrates with seven runners at The Curragh today and eight at Gowran Park tomorrow.
⭕ 2.05 Curragh (Gallinule Stakes) Bolger runs Flying Visit, who would win this on his second to Bolshoi Ballet in the Ballysax Stakes (Taipan third) but not on his Dante effort at York (pulling too hard, beaten a furlong out, seventh).
Erzindjan is a soft-heavy performer who was second in a Group 3 two weeks back, (Snaparaeterea fourth) and another who likes deep cut is He tor De Maris, who can improve on his seasonal debut in the Blue Riband Trial at Epsom (fifth) and is Ryan Moore’s pick of three from Ballydoyle.

TIGER COULD BOUND CLEAR IN CUP
⭕ 2.40 Curragh (Tattersalls Gold Cup) Broome goes for Group-1 honours and a fourth consecutive win in this race for O’Brien.
Broome has crept up on the top players with success first in a Listed, then a Group 3 and on the last day the Group-2 Mooresbridge Stakes at the Curragh.
Helvic Dream, second that day, has been gradually gaining ground on Broome, beaten successively 15+ lengths by him, then 3+ lengths and finally, on that last day, he was just two lengths down.
Serpentine, the runaway Epsom Derby winner, tries to redeem himself after moderate efforts since, and Tiger Moth is a third O’Brien starter, runner-up in the Irish Derby and Melbourne Cup in a short career but all races on a sound surface since his debut.
With three from Ballydoyle, the race is tactical and Seamie Heffernan could steal it on Tiger Moth, who acted well enough on soft on his debut.
He is the best horse in the race (rated 116 to Broome’s 114) and, with abundance of stamina in reserve, could play catch-me (hard to beat in the ground), so that you get a finish like 1 Tiger Moth, 2 Broome, 3 Helvic Dream.
Or will Serpentine go off in front and set up the same result? For many years now, we’ve had to guess which is the hare and which the hounds from the Coolmore kennels.
BETDAQ value 7.4 Tiger Moth
ARC WINNER OF 1,000 GUINEAS!
⭕ 3.15 Curragh (Irish 1,000 Guineas) GOING forecast: Soft. DRAW: Stalls 2 to 8 (6-9). TRAINERS: Aidan O’Brien (9), Jessica Harrington (1).
1 JOAN OF ARC Mother Earth, the Newmarket 1,000 winner, has kept the Classic flag flying for Ballydoyle but I’ve always expected Joan of Arc to lead their filly forces in the long run.
Sister to Gleneagles and Marvellous, she won on soft-heavy at the Curragh and took the Irish 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown, making virtually all.
She also makes ‘nearly horses’ of Thinking Of You, third, Fantasy Lady, fifth, and Sense Of Style, sixth, who were all behind her at Leopardstown.
2 PRETTY GORGEOUS Had Mother Earth well back in the Moyglare but only two lengths behind in third in the Fillies Mile.
She is sitting pretty on top of the ratings, 8lb clear of Joan of Arc but those smart computer punters will have an algorithmic feed which deducts poundage from Pretty Gorgeous because she has not been seen for 226 days.
That also applies to Miss Amulet. She has won twice with cut in the ground, including 6f Lowther Stakes from subsequent Nell Gwyn winner, Sacred; was runner-up in the Cheveley Park and third in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies in November.
But she’s not been seen for 198 days, and also against her, and against Pretty Gorgeous, are their wide-stalls exits from 12 and 14 respectively .
It again suggests that something will hit the traps running and try to spread them out so that the high stalls can get through. It might even be Joan of Arc, herself, after her pace dash in the Trial. But more likely she will get an early sit behind stablemate Friendly.
3 EMPRESS JOSEPHINE Minding’s sister, also drawn high, has had very little racing but could take a big leap forward.
4 FEV ROVER Group-2 winner at Deauville (very soft) and runner-up in the Prix Marcel Boussac (heavy), she was third in the Newmarket Guineas on firm; keen-going, bang there on form, but may fade into a place yet again.
5 NO SPEAK ALEXANDER Close up to Fev Rover when fourth in the
Calvados at Deauville (very soft), easily won the Athasi (Group 3) on her return. She has experience and a good draw in stall 7.
BETDAQ value 28.0 Empress Josephine, 11.0 No Speak Alexander, 5 Fev Rover, 4.7 Joan of Arc.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
