DAQMAN DECEMBER DAY OF GOLD: DIDN’T THE LAD MAKE GOOD! Daqman went down the card of big races at Cheltenham yesterday! Four in a row toppled one by one at stunning odds including 16-1 and 12-1 and a 4-1 nap. It sent him 12-9 up on Pricewise, who was able to make good just the once. In time order, the four, which took him to 306 points profit in their value battle, were:

✔️ WON 4-1 SKY PIRATE (nap)
✔️ WON 16-1 CHATHAM STREET LAD (December Gold Cup, BETDAQ 23.0)
✔️ WON 12-1 MAKE GOOD (Albert Bartlett Novices; Hurdle)
✔️ WON 6-1 SONG FOR SOMEONE (International Hurdle)

BACK TO THE FUTURE AFTER ANOTHER BETDAQ SUPER SATURDAY: It’s back to mundane 10-point earners today, but not before a celebration wrap of that commission-free BETDAQ super Saturday of 83 points profit, and Fortune Cookie plans for Winners Now And In The Future (see today and tomorrow).

WINNERS NOW AND IN THE FUTURE

I’m delighted with the loser! While the winners were flowing, Annie Mc was a big-race also-ran but she showed the potential that put her in my Fortune Cookies, as a horse for the Grand Nationals season.

Jumped well, fifth at 18-1 (from 41.0 on BETDAQ), staying on in the December Gold Cup at Cheltenham.

Still only six, the mare is being nurtured for Nationals by trainer Jonjo O’Neill, and he’ll know a lot more this morning about the kind of National she can cope with, Flat-track, Fairyhouse or even Aintree one day.

Here’s my winning streak yesterday, with some of the headlines; she’ll fit in there one day!

WON 4-1 SKY PIRATE (‘PIRATE NAPPED TO STEAL THE LOOT’). Jonjo again! I’ve finally gotten to read him this season, and Tom Scudamore is in superb form.

WON 16-1 CHATHAM STREET LAD (‘23.0 LAD COULD WIN CUP A STREET’) Won 15 lengths and 12 lengths with the best performance I’ve seen in this race for many a year, and what amazing BETDAQ offers! He goes into the Fortune Cookies for the RSA, and could take that apart as he did the December Gold Cup.

WON 12-1 MAKE GOOD John McConnell must now go into my list of ‘trainers who can pull up trees!’ after his win with Some Neck in the cross-country and this novice-hurdle hit, which is right at the other end of the scale. Some trainer!

WON 6-1 SONG FOR SOMEONE (‘TAKE AN INTERNATIONAL HIT SONG’) Still pulling up saplings, but Tom Symonds – former Nicky Henderson assistant – is really going places after having the courage to strike out on his own, a faculty in abundance displayed by Song For Someone, who had also won the Coral Hurdle at Ascot all the way.

DAQMAN IS KICKING ON

⭕ 1.45 Lingfield After a Stunning Saturday I’m hopeful of a Super Sunday but I can promise it will be a Steady Sunday. It’s poor quality today – so the stakes are kept low. DAQMAN prefers the better class races and at Lingfield, Carlisle and Southwell today they are in short supply.

Best race on the Lingfield card is this class 4 handicap over the minimum trip.

The two chief protagonists on the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE are both making up for disappointments last time out when they both went went off favourites but didn’t deliver.

For Kick On Kick On there were valid excuses as he was only beaten 1/2 length at Wolverhampton (also class 4) but met trouble in running at the crucial furlong marker and looked unlucky. The handicapper has put him up a pound but he looked the moral winner and would have got a bigger burden today if he’d had a clearer run.

Newyorkstateofmind has gone off favourite on his last three starts – winning over six furlongs here but that came over six which might be his better trip now. He has run much better since the blinkers were fitted but might now just be in the grip of the handicapper who has nudged him another pound.

THE WINNER? JUST ASK

⭕ 2.10 Carlisle Easily the best race of the day and the interesting runner is Captan Zebo who has been weak in morning exchanges. He is is unbeaten since joining John Dixon who has achieved that ultra rare feat of being able to improve an ex-Gordon Elliott inmate !

He has been off the track though since winning here in February and completing a hat-trick at the track. He’s up 12lb for a facile 18 length win and also up in distance (which should suit) but certainly can’t be ruled out.

Getaround won a decent race at Newcastle last time out over 2m 6f but only just held on and might struggle to see out this longer trip over a stiffer course.

The safer play might be Ask Dillon for the in form Fergal O’Brien yard. He ran a massive race when fourth to the winning machine Main Fact in a class 1 handicap hurdle at Haydock last time out and will find this easier. He’s got no problems in the stamina department.

DAWNED ON ME

⭕ 3.30 Southwell Five non runners at the time of writing but it still looks a competitive finale.

Wavering Down was reported to have had a breathing problem last time out and now makes his handicap debut but is probably best watched as he has been well beaten in three starts so far.

Towards The Dawn was only beaten a nose at Ludlow last time out and should gain compensation with Luca Morgan again onboard.

I prefer his chances to that of the morning favourite Do Ya Feel Lucky who has her first start for David Pipe and is now back hurdling after running over fences.

DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 10 points)
BET 4.0pts win KICK ON KICK ON (1.45 Lingfield)
BET 4.2pts win (nap) ASK DILLON (2.10 Carlisle)
BET 2.7pts win TOWARDS THE DAWN (3.30 Southwell)

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
