SATURDAY BIG-RACE TREBLE: After winning just short of 100 points in five days, including a hat-trick of naps and winners at 10-1 and 6-1, Daqman didn’t get a bite on Friday but was back among the big fish yesterday, with seven Saturday races returning 112212 including a feature-race treble at 15-2, 11-2 and 9-2.

Saturday: 58 points profit on the day
WON 15-2 FORWARD PLAN (Kempton Trophy bull’s-eye bet)
WON 11-2 ANGLERS CRAG (Eider Chase, Newcastle)
WON 9-2 MARK OF GOLD (Kempton)

DAQMAN v. PRICEWISE 28-10: In a 2-1 win over Pricewise at Kempton, Daqman took his winnings in the Jumps-season challenge to +431.66 against a Pricewise loss of -305.83, both to 10-point level stakes. Latest score 28-10

13.0 MAXIMUS AINTREE VALUE

I Am Maximus Quoted this morning at 13.0 on BETDAQ Sportsbook, with Vanillier 11.0, in response to yesterday’s clash of the Grand National pair in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse.

A future Gold Cup contender was the verdict of trainer Willie Mullins after Maximus went clear of Vanillier in the closing stages.

Fact To File is now as short as 2.37 in the BETDAQ Sportbook after Willie Mullins confirmed he would be running in the Brown Advisory at Cheltenham, also hinting at long-term Gold Cup plans: ‘He jumps and stays so we need to be looking at the track and trip with him.’

SAM GOES WELL ON HEAVY

⭕ 2.10 Hereford Innisfree Lad comes into his own when the ground is decent, winning this race last year on ‘good’ and a Doncaster chase at Christmas time on ‘good to soft.’

But his form in three races on soft since October amounts to defeat by a total of 91 lengths, including last of seven and last of six.

Here is Burrows Park in a veterans’ chase yet has taken part in only five chases, out of the frame every time..

Volcano has won three times in the last three years, all the same race over 3m 5f at Warwick. In fact, Warwick is his only winning venue since November, 2020.

It all goes to suggest that Southern Sam has the edge, and intended to show no mercy if first-time cheekpieces are any guide.

They should certainly set him up for victory, placed eight times in a row, still standing, since November 2019, winning at Haydock on the heavy in December.

A MATCH? NO, LOOK OUT BELLO

⭕ 2.55 Naas (Grade 3; 2m chase) This is a race the favourite or second favourite has won for 10 years running, with Willie Mullins (Ferny Hollow) and Gordon Elliott (Ash Tree Meadow) toe to toe.

Ash Tree Meadow is currently No 8 on the Grand National card, and Ferny Hollow is No 9 in the Champion Chase field at Cheltenham.

The 2020 Champion Bumper winner at Cheltenham, Ferny Hollow is unbeaten in five races over the last four years though, in fact his career was put on hold by injury 791 days back when he won the Grade 1 Racing Post Novice Chase at Leopardstown.

Third in the 2022 Galway Plate to Hewick, Ash Tree Meadow went back there last year with a mission for revenge. He got it; he won it.

A free-going front-runner, he is a year younger than Ferny Hollow who is allowed a 9lb pull, after the two-year-gap in his career, with previous penalties wiped out.

Espanito Bello is ‘on the premises’ here, as winner of the Leinster National and the Brown Lad Hurdle on this course between March and November last year. The grey has no fancy entries so this is his Champion Chase at 10.0 on BETDAQ (2.86 two places)

ON THE RIGHT LEVEL TO FIRE

⭕ 3.40 Hereford Abingworth has improved for chasing, and had Chance A Tune behind at Ludlow.

Beaten a short-head that day, Abingworth was bumped two out and bumped again at the last. But today he bumps into Fire Dancer!

Fire Dancer resumes on his home track, after aiming high at Ascot (class 2) in the wake of wind surgery.

He is down two grades to the level of his Ludlow win just over a year ago after joining Venetia Williams from Guillaume Macaire, with whom he was twice a winner on soft-heavy.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 5.3 Fire Dancer

WHAT’S IN A NAME: COURAGE

⭕ 3.55 Naas (Pertemps qualifier; 2m 6f hurdle) Named after the most decorated native-American serviceman over three wars, Cleatus Poolaw, the racehorse, is as hard to beat in battle as any brave from Apache.

Form figures of 212221 attest to his courage and consistency but what sets him up for today’s race is his eight-lengths defeat on the last day over today’s CD of Nas Na Riogh, the horse named after Naas itself!

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
