WON 10-1 FOX LEGACY (15.5 bull’s-eye bet on BETDAQ)
WON 6-5 MORE THUNDER

Wednesday: Profit on the day 38.50

TODAY: July Meeting wrap and Sunday’s value bets

APPLEBY-BUICK GOLD TRAIN

SEVEN UP! The superstar combo of Charlie Appleby and William Buick capped an amazing feast at the July Meeting in a double Desert sandwich that squeezed out a hot favourite of Aidan O’Brien’s for the second time in the week.

Currently striking at 33%, Appleby landed seven winners, including defeat by Cinderella’s Dream in the Falmouth Stakes of the O’Brien favourite, January.

Then yesterday O’Brien’s odds-on Italy was beaten by Appleby and Buick for the Superlative Stakes by Saba Desert with a second Appleby runner, Wild Desert, in third.

Saba Desert was William Buick’s seven up for Appleby at the July Meeting but he made it eight with William Knight’s filly Royal Velvet in a handicap.

Ballydoyle’s sole success at the Newmarket meeting was with his first runner of the week there, Scandinavia in a Group 3.

He still leads the GB trainers’ earnings for the year just £6k short of the £4m mark in front of John and Thady Gosden and Andrew Balding, both well past £3m but needing a big Goodwood and King George meeting to make the end-of-season championships decisive.

Balding had a double at Ascot yesterday plus the John Smith’s at York with 10-1 Fox Legacy, tipped by Daqman when a 15.5 offer on Betdaq Betting Exchange .

GROUND PICK OF DERBY DUO

⭕ 7.25 Longchamp (Grand Prix de Paris) Aidan O’Brien looks for consolation in Paris, hoping Trinity College will teach the French the Dublin arts.

Strangely, Trinity College represents French Derby form and Epsom Derby form by French-trained New Ground.

Trinity College was fourth in the Prix du Jockey Club before winning a Group 3 at Royal Ascot, while New Ground was fourth in the English Derby for Henri Devin under Alexis Pouchin.

Colin Keane takes over today which also provides a clash of champion jockeys, with Trinity College ridden by Ryan Moore.

They made all at Ascot but are up in trip on a soft surface tonight, and New Ground is the one bred for stamina.

The Frankel colt Frankly Good Cen (only three runs so far) was two lengths behind Trinity College at Chantilly after being baulked at the start.

Uther is a half-brother to last year’s winner of this, Sosie, and is also lightly raced. Surabad, from Francis-Henri Graffard’s burgeoning yard, is only Listed level so far.

* Michael Bell runs Yashin in the 1m 6f Group 2 (6.10) and Ed Walker saddles Qilin Queen (Kieran Shoemark) against Graffard’s unbeaten Sunly (Colin Keane).

ZABEEL TAKES HANDSHAKE

⭕ 5.45 Southwell Royal runner Golden Handshake won a small-field, slow-run maiden at Lingfield but I liked the way Burj Zabeel made all, finding more when making all at Haydock.

Penalised, The Pouncing Lion beat an odds-on favourite the last day but that one was found to have lost a shoe.

⭕ 6.15 Southwell Showering should be suited by this drop to the minimum trip and return of Tom Marquand, who won on him at Yarmouth.

The filly Fluorescence is a Southwell scorer, best ride today for P J McDonald, who stormed home on Fox Legacy yesterday. Brosay is the only CD winner in the field

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
