ARC TRIALS IN PARIS TODAY: Daqman in three countries today, with Group-1 races in France (the Arc trials) and Germany and a big-field card at York. He has had a winner a day in this long weekend so far.
WON 85-40 TENABILITY (Saturday)
WON 4-1 ATA RANGI (Friday)
Arc trials in Paris
HE’S ONE IN A SOUMILLON
⭕ 1.33 Longchamp (Prix Foy) (Best recent winner, Waldgeist, won the 2019 Arc).
Leading trainers in the race: Andre Fabre (3-7) saddles 2024 Arc fourth and this year’s Ganay winner Sosie, and Jean-Pierre Gauvin (2-3) goes for a third Foy win with Iresine (winner 2022 and 2024).
Aidan O’Brien’s 2024 Irish Derby winner, Los Angeles, was third in the Arc, and is today Christophe Soumillon’s first major ride for Ballydoyle in the absence of Ryan Moore.
Ed Walker’s Almaqam beat International (10f) winner Ombudsman in May but this is his first try at 1m 4f.
⭕ 3.25 Longchamp (Prix Vermeille) (Best recent winner, Bluestocking, won the 2024 Arc).
Leading trainer Francis-Henri Graffard (2-8) saddles Saint-Alary and French Oaks winner Gezora.
Runner-up in last year’s Arc, Aventure beat Survie in May before second to King George winner Calandagan in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in June.
Will be fresh here on first run since and the year-younger filly Whirl (Aidan O’Brien) has yet to win at this 1m 4f.
Runner-up in the Epsom Oaks, she had her Curragh defeat of Kalpana (Survie third) let down at Kempton yesterday.
⭕ 4.00 Longchamp (Prix Niel) (Best recent winner, Sotsass, won the 2020 Arc).
Leading trainer Andre Fabre (2-9) runs French Derby runner-up, Cualificar, and Jean-Claude Rouget (also two Niel wins) saddles Gr and Prix winner, Leffard.
The form horse must be twice Derby placed Tennessee Stud, winner on heavy at Saint-Cloud as a 2yo for Joseph O’Brien.
German grand prix
HONOUR TO SLAY GOLIATH
⭕ 2.25 Baden-Baden (Grosser Preis) William Haggas, who landed five winners yesterday, has had 117 at home and this German grand prix would take his earnings well past the £3m mark.
His seven-year-old Dubai Honour, Group-1 winner four times in Australia, faces Goliath, French raider for Francis-Henri Graffard.
Goliath took the 2024 King George at Ascot but has managed only a Group-3 success this season.
England has York
TWO BETDAQ 20-1 OR MORE
⭕ 3.00 York Good ground and a low draw suits Silky Wilkie, 13lb lower than when second in last year’s Ayr Gold Cup. BETDAQ 20.0 taken.
⭕ 4.30 York Of the William Haggas pair, Almeraq went five lengths clear in the Ayr Gold Cup Trial but seems best with some cut.
Stablemate Elmonjed was slowly away at Newmarket so that front-runner Lethal Levi was not for catching.
Elmonjed has a 3lb pull and likes this course (won the Dash here in July) and could turn around the placings. Betdaq Betting Exchange 7.3.
After three winners yesterday, going close with a 22-1 shot in the big sprint, Andrew Balding expects further progress from million-guinea foal Kassaya, half-sister to a Guineas winner, who is also 22-1 as I write.
⭕ 5.00 York Improving fillies has you thinking Ralph Beckett and William Haggas, and here they are with Seren Star (BETDAQ 5.3) and Revelance (3.45); just four runs each but both have scored twice.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
