DOUBLE-YOUR-MONEY VALUE: DAQMAN followers were kings of the castle for value yesterday with BETDAQ morning offers of 8.3 about the 7-2 winner.

WON 7-2 CARRIGEEN CASTLE from BETDAQ 8.3

BIG-RACE BETS 13.0 AND 21.0: The card for the big hurdle race at Naas today, for which Daqman has a 21.0 outsider, was subject to inspections for fog throughout the morning. He has a 13.0 bet in the Sussex National at Plumpton.

HATS OFF TO 21.0 CHAPEAU

🌫️ MORNING FOG INSPECTIONS 🌫️

⭕ 2.00 Naas This Grade-1 novice hurdle has produced Bob Olinger and Envoi Allen in the last four seasons. Punters usually know the score.

As Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott shared six of the seven winners between 2016 and 2022, seven straight favourites won! In the last decade, Mullins has edged ahead of Elliott 5-4.

Only Henry De Bromhead has intervened (in 2021) and he alone, with An Tobar, can spoil a super seven-up party today of five Mullins starters, two for Elliott.

On jockeys’ picks and past results, the race seems mainly to concern Ile Atlantique (Paul Townend) for Mullins and Firefox (Jack Kennedy) for Elliott.

Firefox beat Ile Atlantique threequarters of a length in a Fairyhouse bumper in April, and has done much more racing since.

Both have won over 2m since November; both are bred for further, and should relish the 2m 4f today.

There is only a pound or two between them on recent form, which had Firefox finishing last year on 1111, Jack Kennedy confidently making all at Fairyhouse from two Willie Mullins contenders, including the odds-on favourite.

Ile Atlantique had scored earlier in the autumn at Gowran Park; odds on and went clear in his only hurdles start.

An Tobar has already been placed in a Grade 1; he was third in the Royal Bond to Farren Glory, who might have followed up in the new Aintree Tolworth but fell two out when a length ahead.

Croke Park, closely related to Farren Glory, is in today’s line-up for Elliott, while jockey Patrick Mullins is keen on back-to-form Chapeau De Soleil, who ran in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham.

Chapeau De Soleil has a pedigree packed with stamina. His Kayf Tara dam is out of a winning sister to Grand National winner Many Clouds.

Firefox and Ile Atlantique have juggled for favouritism but I will have an interest in this ‘must watch’ race by betting that Chapeau De Soleil stays on for a place. BETDAQ 21.0.

THIS IS PUNTERS’ ELDORADO

⭕ 2.15 Plumpton (Sussex Stayers Hurdle) Since beating Hitman and then Royal Pagaille in the 2021-22 season, Eldorado Allen has found life tough in Grade 1 against, in separate races over the last 14 months, Bravemansgame, Protektorat, Galopin Des Champs and Hewick.

High flying off a chase rating of 166, he now reverts to hurdles off 143, dropping out of Graded company for the first time in 20 starts. Betdaq Betting Exchange 4.5 taken.

FOXBORO HANDICAP LET-OFF

⭕ 2.50 Plumpton (Sussex National) I had an old-fashioned punt on Christmas In April (Colin Tizzard), tipping the 9-2 winner of this in Betdaq Tips in 2020.

His son, Joe Tizzard, who won the same race with Atakan last year, goes for back-to-back strikes via the mare, Rose Of Arcadia.

Has consistently maintained an average rating around the 123 she carries here, thanks to claiming off Freddie Ginghell, but I can’t see scope for any improvement.

On that note, the last seven winners of this have been aged seven or eight, and I can see Sporting Ace making up into a decent long-distance stayer.

He’s won or been placed in 11 of 13 starts, and now today the son of a sister to the fabulous Old Vic has his chance over a trip.

Foxboro took his chance at Exeter the last day in December, stepped up to the 3m 6f+ to take the Haldon Stayers’ Crown unchallenged. The 5lb rise is a let-off.

Gold Clermont and Eceparti also tried a trip, first and second over 3m 5f at Fakenham. That was class-4 competition but it means they get lumps of weight today.

Tommie Beau, who won the Norfolk National in May, 2022, took two more, back to back, in the autumn, the Durham National and the Southern National. He’s fresh from a break and is winner of three out of five starts at Plumpton.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 5.4 Foxboro, 6.1 Sporting Ace, 6.7 Rose Of Arcadia, 7.1 Gold Clermont, 13 Tommie Beau, 18.5 Eceparti

CONQUISTADOR 10.5 ON BETDAQ

⭕ 7.30 Wolverhampton Diomed Spirit has been hiked 16lb for an autumn hat-trick, launched here at Wolver in class 5, while newcomer to the same stable, Conquistador, is down 11lb since his Royal Ascot third in class 2.

Stuart Williams, who has raced Conquistador twice since the gelding was switched from George Boughey, should have some idea where he stands at home with Diomed Spirit; watch the BETDAQ market. Both are CD winners.

Night On Earth is another dropping down the weights. Now 21lb below his last success 14 races back in a four-horse race; his best form in the Spring two years ago.

Yet another, Zarzyni, has also plunged down the ratings, from third in an Ascot class 2 in July, 2022, when rated 104, to today’s mark of 85.

BETDAQ value this morning: 3.95 Diomed Spirit, 6.6 Zarzyni, 10.5 Conquistador
