LINGFIELD CALLED OFF: The all-weather meeting didn’t do what it said on the tin when the card failed a second inspection on Sunday. It leaves a blank day in the UK but Punchestown keeps the show on the road in Ireland. Daqman has three bets from Punchestown including in the feature Moscow Flyer Grade 2.

PROSPECTS IMPROVING: Officials at Exeter and Lingfield are cautiously optimistic for Monday’s cards. No inspections are planned at either venue or at the other other two scheduled cards from Punchestown and Wolverhampton.

HAVE A LOOK AT LECKY

⭕ 12.55 Punchestown (Grade 3 Novice Chase) The first of two Graded races on Sunday’s card which sees a quartet go to post after the defection of Search For Glory who would have had a major chance.

It looks to leave a Willie Mullins v Gordon Elliott match with Lecky Watson and Down Memory Lane respectively.

Lecky Watson edges the Betdaq Betting Exchange betting and I’m in agreement. He only had to be pushed out to beat Slade Steel on chasing debut at Naas where he made all the running to beat the odds-on favourite.

Given Slade Steel’s achievements over hurdles (including winning the Supreme at the Cheltenham Festival) that could turn out to be smart form.

Lecky Watson is entitled to improve further for the experience over fences and should be even better suited by going right-handed. He jumped right on several occasions at Naas.

Down Memory Lane was also a Naas winner on debut when he jumped well but it looked a weaker race.

He was then pushed right up in class to contest the Henry VIII Novices’ Chase at Sandown – a Grade 1. His third of four was respectable enough on paper but rather worryingly he didn’t jump with much fluency and will need to improve on that front.

Elliott also runs Farren Glory who won the Grade 1 Royal Bond over hurdles and has converted some of that form to fences with a Naas win (another Naas winner!) and second to stable companion Touch Me Not in the Grade 2 Craddockstown Novice Chase here at Punchestown to his name.

He looks slightly over-priced but the market presumes the other two probably have the better potential and class and I’ll stick with ‘Lecky’.

SALVATOR TO FLY HOME

⭕ 2.25 Punchestown (Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle Grade 2) The market points firmly to a Willie Mullins 1-2 here but I’m not certain the order is that conclusive.

Salvator Mundi is as low as 5/1 for the Supreme after a devastating 62 length win – yes you read that right, 62 lengths – at Tipperary where his race comment was simply ‘made all, canter’.

It looked an incredibly weak race beforehand and I’m not getting overly carried away withy that win alone given Salvator Mundi was sent off a 1/12 chance.

It’s probably wiser to judge him on his sixth placed effort in the Triumph last year.

That’s still strong enough form on paper to beat stable companion Kel Histoire who won a Cork maiden on stable debut since joining from France.

Sky Lord has similar claims though having also won a Cork maiden and might fight it out for second with Ken Histoire.

YES, MULLINS AGAIN

⭕ 2.55 Punchestown I’ll stick with Willie Mullins for hopefully a Daqman Sunday treble.

Kappa Jy Pyke made a promising start over hurdles when second at Cork and is preferred to morning market leader Don’tstopthemusic who was impressive when winning a bumper here and started well over hurdles at Fairyhouse despite a couple of jumping errors. The form of that race however was let down over Christmas.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
