ARABIE CHANTILLY SCORER

⭕ 3.30 Chantilly (Prix Robert Papin, 6f Group 2; going good) One of the top two-year-old tests in France has again been handed to the English, who have six of the seven runners.

England had won eight in a row and Ireland one before Christopher Head scored last year with Ramatuelle, who went on to be third in this year’s Newmarket 1,000 Guineas.

In fact, there are no home acceptors this time. The odd one out, number 7 on the card, is trained in Italy by Melania Cascione.

A daughter of Kodiac, she gets weight from all but Ed Walker’s filly, Celandine, who seems likely to play catch-me. The field with ratings:

105 Arabie (Karl Burke) A CD winner at Chantilly a month ago after beating a big field at York, the Dandy Man colt is engaged at York again in the Gimcrack on August 21.

He’s a horse that just does enough and came under a lot of pressure to score at Chantilly. Jim Crowley, who was the pilot for both wins back to back is retained for this £64k prize.

96 Celandine (Ed Walker) Tom Marquand bids for a hat-trick on this dual winner on firm ground at Windsor and on the July Course. Regarded as a ‘tough nut’, she targets the Moyglare in September.

Supplemented after making all at Newmarket with this week’s Group-2 winner at the July Meeting, Arabian Dusk, back in third.

91 Moving Force (Richard Fahey) The Fahey pair are neck and neck in the ratings, this one beaten only a short-head by Shareholder in the Two-Year-Old Trophy at Beverley.

Shareholder is now on 105 after taking the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, with Moving Force drawn on the wrong side, switched but unable to muster the pace to challenge.

Moving Force is by Mehmas, who had a fabulous juvenile run, taking him up to 115, and his son (out of a Dawn Approach mare) won’t find it so crowded here as at Ascot and will appreciate the extra furlong.

91 Shadow Army (Richard Fahey) Favourite for the Windsor Castle after impressing at York but, like his stablemate in the Norfolk, he was not well placed from stall 6, with the first three home coming out of 27, 26, 22.

81 Convo (Amy Murphy) Second in a Listed here on heavy ground, well held by one who gave 5lb to Shadow Army at York and was beaten only a short head. But Convo is the most exposed of any runner today.

– – An Outlaw’s Grace (Richard Hannon) Another Dandy Man, won at Salisbury under a fine patient ride from Sean Levey, who will try to follow up today. Hannon rates the colt highly.

– – Korisa (Melania Cascione) Three minor wins out of four for the Kodiac filly. Hard to put a value on San Siro form but the stable connection with Sebastiano Guerierri suggests caution in dismissing this colt.

WASDELL’S PERTH TREBLE

⭕ 3.45 Perth Christian Williams has a 36% strike rate here, helped along by two out of four (all in the frame) at the last meeting, when Cap Du Nord finished third after scoring at Plumpton.

Dinons goes for a hat-trick, after scoring 10 lengths on his first start since switching stables to Brian Ellison.

No Regrets and Everyday Champagne were the one-two, separated a neck, at Kelso in May. The weights are now tilted toward No Regrets after he hung on by only a nostril that day.

Tiger Orchid reserves his best for Worcester but Wasdell Dundalk’s Perth record over today’s 3m is 1110, with his recent run his first since last November. The only CD winner in the field.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 5.8 Cap Du Nord, 6.6 Dinons, 8.6 Wasdell Dundalk

OUT FOR STRATFORD PLOT

⭕ 4.00 Stratford (Summer Salver, 2m 2.5f, good to firm) Six And Out won the recognised novices’ test for this over the Stratford CD on the first day of June, putting one over the odds-on favourite. Looks value at 6.8 on BETDAQ this morning.

Finest View turned a corner when switched to Alan King and her pedigree suggests that upping her in trip could be productive.

Doctor Parnassus has his first run for Dan Skelton but the stable has failed to score over hurdles and fences with its last 25 Jumps runners, among them seven straight losing favourites, since taking a novice chase at Uttoxeter in June.
