8-1 WINNER AND A HAT-TRICK OF NAPS IN DAQMAN 60-1 TREBLE: Daqman landed a hat-trick of winners and completed a hat-trick of naps yesterday! His best bet, Millisle (WON 9-4), was one of three winners out of three across the cards at Bath, Catterick and Naas. She came back to something like her old self and raced four lengths clear at the line for the Ballyogan Stakes at Naas, as the final leg of Daqman’s treble:
✅ WON 8-1 SAMARA BAY
✅ WON 11-10 HIDDEN DEPTHS
✅ WON 9-4 MILLISLE (nap)
NOW IT’S SEVEN OUT OF 12 AND 53 POINTS PROFIT IN FOUR DAYS: Millisle’s romp gave Daqman three winning naps in four days (one non-runner) for a profit since Sunday of 53 points. He’s now landed seven winning best bets out of the last 12 for a 58% strike rate. They include his first Bonus Nap (Kings Temptation WON 6-5) and a winning return for the Supernaps. His hat-trick:
✅ WON 2-1 GLOBAL GIANT (Sunday nap)
✅ WON 8-15 PLEASURE GARDENS (Tuesday supernap)
✅ WON 9-4 MILLISLE (Wednesday nap)
ONLY THREE TO TAKE ON ENABLE
⚠️ HEADS UP Enable will face just three opponents in Saturday’s King George, all trained Aidan O’Brien, two of them Derby winners (see Wednesday ABC Guide).
Three of the four runners will be ridden by champion jockeys, past and present. The field of four are: Anthony Van Dyck (Oisin Murphy), Enable (Frankie Dettori), Japan (Ryan Moore), Sovereign (William Buick).
⚠️ HEADS UP Irish Derby winner Santiago is among the entries for the Goodwood Cup, held for the last three years by Stradivarius, but trainer Aidan O’Brien is unlikely to get his own way with the pace.
Nayef Road, beaten 10 lengths by Stradivarius in the 2m 4f Ascot Gold Cup on soft, would be a formidable front-runner over the 2m at Goodwood (forecast good ground) on Tuesday.
Nayef Road could ‘do a Mark Johnston’, in keeping with so many in his stable, and try to outrun them. He was headed a furlong out at Ascot.
Stradivarius won 10 in a row, including this race last year, but had the kid-glove treatment before retaining his Ascot gold.
⚠️ HEADS UP The Chesham winner Battleground could be sent over by O’Brien for the Vintage Stakes, which he’s won with Highland Reel and War Decree in the last six years.
The Ballydoyle alternative would be Military Style, but he was a disappointing third of four in the Marble Hill. Both Battleground and Military Style are War Fronts out of Galileo mares.
FOLLOW THE IN-FORM WARRIORS
⭕ 2.10 Uttoxeter Kim Bailey is in top gear right now with recent returns of 21231031, and Minella Warrior’s results when fresh since the Spring of 2018 gives more attractive form figures: 11213.
Warrior (BETDAQ 2.5) ran well at Cheltenham over fences, despite the tough introduction, whereas it’s first time for Young Wolf, and Darling Maltaix has failed in five attempts and, officially, has 12lb to find in the ratings.
⭕ 2.40 Uttoxeter Another warrior in top form is Neil Mulholland, who won again at Bath yesterday with Hidden Depths, and has plenty of depth to his current figures: 11010143101, still standing.
He has primed the 13.0 BETDAQ offer Dream Machine for this with a recent run on the Flat, and he looks a sound place bet, in the frame 13 times already and against trainers out of form or unreliable.
David Pipe (Story of Friends) had his first Jumps winner of the season on Tuesday; I’ll wait for his second before I get too excited.
Harry Fry (Get Back Get Back) is 0-6, without a winner in 15 days, and the description of Get Back Get Back’s third here on the last day contains language you don’t want to read in front of your children: ‘raced freely; mistake first; blundered 2 out; wandered around; lost second near finish.’
Dr Richard Newland is doing all right, thankyou, but his Chef De Troupe is suffering from success here at Uttoxeter a year or so ago.
he handicapper hiked him 19lb to a mark which has seen him beaten twice as favourite since.
VISION ON DESPITE SMALL FIELD
⭕ 3.20 Pontefract The Royal Hunt Cup winner, Dark Vision, the Cambridgeshire runner-up, Beringer, and the Balmoral winner of 2019, Escobar, all seemingly need a fast pace here.
Alan King promised himself he’d go straight to hurdles with Beringer but the lure of black type has him in this Listed, first run for 299 days.
Even with the yard in top form, that’s a tall order, though 11.0 tempts a tickle! He’s a couple of pounds behind Escobar on a line through Lord North, though Escobar’s best form is on soft ground.
Dark Vision has age on his side and the ground in his favour, and he was only just pipped – giving away a lump of weight – in the Coral Challenge at Sandown earlier this month, even when slowly away in a slow-run race. The winner was the Hunt Cup runner-up off a turnaround in the weights.
POWER SCREAMED BETDAQ VALUE
⭕ 7.00 Sandown Thai Power could be a hidden horse here. The Kingman colt has been kept to AW, where he’s steadily improved, winning with a tremendous surge at Kempton (Camouflaged fourth) but meeting one of some potential in Sir Michael Stoute’s Galata Bridge at Wolverhampton.
Thai Power gets around a stone and more from the market leaders, Indigo Lake, who’s been in winners’ races at Doncaster and Haydock, and Arthurian Fable, fifth in a handicap at Royal Ascot but still a maiden.
BETDAQ Sportsbook’s 9.5 was well over the top this morning. I reckoned him a 5-1 or 6-1 chance. At 5-1, I would have bet four points to win 20.
Intending a Bonus Nap, I kept the same stake at the 8.5-1, so getting a profit of 34 points instead of the 20.
Unfortunately I wasn’t the only one to see the value screaming at me, and the price was down to 5.9 on the BETDAQ Exchange by the time I filed my copy, and it would be unfair to claim it. Message to BETDAQ punters: get an early position if you see some value!
