CHAMPIONS OF 2024: Append this section to yesterday’s two-year success of Daqman Classic Flat-race ratings. He’s looking ahead to the 3yo campaign of 2024, as the current season has its final day at Newcastle on Saturday. Next week: six-point plan for winners over Jumps through to Cheltenham next March.

CLASSIC DAQMAN RATINGS

CITY OF TROY is rated 8lb higher for next year’s Classics than was Auguste Rodin when he started his 3yo season, and Opera Singer is a 1lb better than Tahiyra and just 1lb behind Inspiral at the same stage of their careers.

Both are the progeny of Justify, the US Triple Crown winner, but both are out of mares by the Coolmore greats, Galileo and Sadler’s Wells.

NEXT YEAR: Two-year-old colts of 2023 (for 3yo of 2024)
126 CITY OF TROY (Aidan O’Brien) Dewhurst Stakes
123 HENRY LONGFELLOW (Aidan O’Brien) Irish Futurity, National Stakes.
118 VANDEEK (Simon and Ed Crisford) Prix Morny, Middle Park
115 ANCIENT WISDOM (Charlie Appleby) Doncaster Futurity
113 ROSALLION (Richard Hannon) Jean-Luc Lagardere
111 BIG EVS (Michael Appleby) Flying Childers, Breeders Cup Juvenile
111 RIVER TIBER (Aidan O’Brien) Coventry Stakes
111 TASK FORCE (Ralph Beckett) Second in the Middle Park
111 UNQUESTIONABLE (Aidan O’Brien) Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf
109 DIEGO VELAZQUEZ (Aidan O’Brien) Irish Champions Juvenile

Two-year-old fillies of 2023 (for 3yo of 2024)
119 OPERA SINGER (Aidan O’Brien) Prix Marcel Boussac
113 RAMATUELLE (Christopher Head) Robert Papin, second Prix Morny.

Sires: Blue Point (Big Evs, Rosallion), Dubawi (Ancient Wisdom, Henry Longfellow), Frankel (Diego Velazquez, Task Force), Havana Grey (Vandeek), Justify (City Of Troy, Opera Singer, Ramatuelle), Wootton Bassett (River Tiber, Unquestionable)

MULLING OVER OPPOSING MULLINS

⭕ 2.15 Clonmel (T.A. Morris Memorial Irish Listed Race) This might not be the Willie Mullins benefit that it looks at first glance with the trainer having two of the three runners in with a serious chance. Both Regina Dracones and Hazelhatch Lady look throughly outclassed.

Official ratings give a good chance to the Henry De Bromhead trained Maskada. The stable are in good form – their last three runners have all won and Maskada is joint top-rated with the Betdaq Betting Exchange Mullins trained favourite Allegorie De Vassy yet receives 10lb in this contest.

Maskada hasn’t been seen since winning the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival where she popped up at 22/1. She has winning form in heavy and is definitely worth a chance against Allegorie De Vassy who also handles the ground and goes well fresh.

The other Mullins runner Instit has something to find on the figures but did beat Allegorie De Vassy at Fairyhouse in April and receives a chunk of weight from her stablemate today.

EQUINUS AGAIN

⭕ 2.25 Newbury Most of the Berkshire card today looks to consist of races to watch with an eye on the future. Nicky Henderson and Paul Nicholls are introducing a couple of promising types from the PTP sphere who have their first days at school in Break My Soul (1.50) and Histrionic (4.10) respectively.

Henderson also runs Willmount in the 12.40. He has looked good in winning two bumpers but will be prohibitively priced for his hurdles debut.

The bet of the afternoon however comes in the 2.25 with the Nigel Twiston-Davies trained Equinus who romped home at Aintree last time out (5 lengths and 16 lengths) and escapes a penalty for that win as it came in a conditional riders event. That puts him 9lb well in here and his chance of a follow-up is obvious – yet I can get odds against on Betdaq.

Emitom won over course and distance for Alan King back in March and is back for another crack but with an extra 5lb.

ZACH’S BACK

⭕ 6.00 Chelmsford No surprise to see Charlie Johnston send out Zachary again quickly as he is 5lb well in here despite his statutory penalty of 6lb.

I was taken by his easy win last week where he only had to be pushed out to win by over four lengths and this doesn’t look any more competitive with main danger likely to come from She’Sashambles who seemingly showed improved form at Newcastle last week.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
